Fantastic exhibits on Homer History, Valdez Oil Spill, Bears, and Sea life. There is so much to see here that you'll need at least an hour.

Don't forget to visit the Pratt Homestead Cabin and Pratt Museum Forest Trails outside.

We really enjoyed this museum. We learned about the Kilcher family who appear on Alaska the Last Frontier. We also learned about animals as well as Alaskan natives way of life. So many things from floor to ceiling to look at :).

Small.. Cheap.. Lots of information. Older lady at desk was very helpful and knew quiet a bit about the culture and history. It has local art from modern age people within the last few years and also stuff from tribes many years ago.. The back has animal info and a bird watching camera feed from bird island. Its worth going to once u hit homer to better appreciate ur surroundings

A gem in downtown Homer. Though somewhat small, it is crammed with exhibits that provide an insight into the people who came to Alaska for a fresh start. Lots of interact areas with audio about the settlers, plan to spend a lot of time if you get hooked on one of the stories. We also enjoyed the videos in the basement area with the wildlife displays. A plus for my wife who is a quilter were a number of quilts around the building including one that was being raffled off.

Outside is a example of a settler cabin including the out-building.

A very nice option on any day but especially if you need to find an inside activity on inclement weather.

Great museum to learn about Homer.

They offer free museum entry on first Friday of the month 4-6pm!

I paid $15 as a regular visitor, feel it worths the money.

By the way, Shelly is awesome!

A must see in Homer.

Great education about local homesteaders, the '64 earthquake, local wildlife, environmental history, now Indigenous history.

Quilt enthusiasts should buy tickets for the annual summer quilt giveaway (created by local craftspeople).

This space really represents the farm, fishing industrial resource extraction and art community of Homer. I grew up in Homer on a homestead and I loved seeing the renovated displays at the Pratt. There are trails behind the museum to be enjoyed aswell!

I visit the museum often with my grandchildren. Staff is always very welcoming. The kids love feeding the fish, they learn alot about sea lifr. We also love the trails that surround the museum. Always a pleasant experience. Good place to walk dogs too.

Truly interesting place to visit. Particularly, enjoyed the historic pioneer home. It was once owned by a women whose hospitality was quite generous to newcomers to Homer. We enjoyed this museum and the neighborhood surrounding it.

Really great museum. Spend 3 hours reading content and watching films. Reveals a lot of facts about Homer itself, Exxon oil pollution, locals, animals and history of the place. I’d highly recommend to visit Pratt museum.

Very beautiful, eye catching art and sea creatures. Sea creatures look well taken care of, and a huge selection of primitive Native American art, sea life bone structures, ect. Very nice staff, great for school field trips.

Great little museum. The mammal specimens and geology exhibits were excellent. The kid section and some of the artwork were also worth admittance.
