Duncan House Diner

I absolutely love this diner. I am leaving Homer and wish I could take this diner with me. The service is always friendly, the food is cooked by a perfectionist. You can't say you visited Homer without eating here.

Great Breakfast. You get seated, Then you go order & pay before you eat. Fine by us. It means you can leave quicker.
Excellent Pancakes, reindeer sausage , & biscuits & gravy. Wife had a very good country fried steak.

Man oh man the breakfast was so good this morning! My son is 7 and a picky eater. He loved his food and I loved my omelet. The atmosphere was great and prices and service were great too. I highly recommend this place to eat and it was so good we will be eating here again tomorrow.

My Dad and I enjoyed breakfast sitting at the counter so much on Friday, we had to make a return trip on Saturday before heading back from vacation. The breakfast, service and atmosphere were all great. Appreciated and we hope to see you again on another trip to Homer!

The reviews and photos of this place don’t do it justice! Husband and I came in for a late breakfast. We were greeted with a smile and given options for seating. The waiter brought menus right away and took our drink orders which were brought immediately back to us. Hot coffee with lots of cream for use and a delicious iced tea with lemon (didn’t even have to ask for the lemon!). We put in our food orders and the food was out in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the Express with a side of potatoes and the High Tide with a side pancake. Everything was so delicious and simple, it was hard to believe it came out so quickly! The breakfast sandwich was huge, the pancake was massive, the biscuit was really big for one biscuit, and the eggs were probably more like 3 eggs (even though the dish says 2 eggs). Great food, happy friendly staff, and quick service. Definitely recommend breakfast at Duncan House Diner!

Everything was super delicious! Ordered the two egg breakfast and the schooner which is two pieces of French toast with fresh strawberries and blueberries, cream cheese in the middle of both pieces of French toast, whipped cream, powdered sugar and syrup.

Highly recommend getting reindeer sausage!

Great place to eat! Service was perfect. Food was not only cooked perfectly but plated artistically. Staff had smiles and greeted everyone warmly. I highly recommend.

Not a restaurant. A local institution. Perfect breakfasts. Good service. Menu is inconsistent, but expect standard diner options. Great hangover food. Great family atmosphere.

You have to go up and order food and drinks. Plus get your own ice water and coffee. I would have liked it better if we had normal service to the table. Otherwise I liked the place a lot.

It is very rare you come across a restaurant as rustic, charming, and good-natured as Duncan House. Looking for a satisfying and tasty meal? - Duncan House. Looking for a welcoming atmosphere with great service? - Duncan House. As I am vegan, I’ve only tried their country potatoes and sourdough toast (no butter) with jelly, but let me tell you, these are NOT your average potatoes. Legend has it that before the gold rush, people would travel all the way to Alaska just to pan for these perfectly greased, slightly salted cubes of potatoes. Many people don’t know, but there are actually 5 elements - wind, earth, fire, air, and these potatoes. Simply put, If you come here and don’t try their potatoes, you are really doing yourself a disservice. Their bread and jelly is pretty good too. In closing, be assured that if you come to Duncan House hungry, you will leave not only with a full belly, but also with a full heart. Thank you for all the great meals!

The young man was nicknamed Derek before we found out his name was Raiden. Great service with a few laughs. I had the club sandwich and my friend had the the Duncan Burger

Gorgeous! Really tasty and the coffee was good. Great service!

Excellent locals restaurant with comfort food. The best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had, eggs not over cooked & more than a spoon-full of Hollandaise. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was served quick & hot. You couldn’t ask for better.

I had the chicken fried steak and eggs today. The flavor was terrific, and the gravy was amazing. The portion was large, and both eggs were cooked to perfection. The overall experience was excellent and will stop in again. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Delicious food, fast service, friendly atmosphere, interesting decor, and a diverse menus. We are going again tomorrow!

Great service and very tasty food. I ate the Schooner with a side of eggs. The cream cheese in the middle makes it unique. There raindeer sausage is good too. Waited 15 minutes to be seated at the bar at about 11:30 on a Saturday. Not bad at all for a packed house. Would highly recommend

Wonderful staff and perfect breakfast this morning. Many great breakfast choices for just about anyone!! They were able to accommodate my special dietary needs. The decor is nice with antique items everywhere!!
