Peter B's Automotive is a rare and highly recommended auto service facility. I have had several of my vehicles serviced there for a wide range of repairs over 20 years. The work performed has been excellent on each occasion. I thoroughly appreciate a repair service that is caring, honest and thorough.

I had a big and complicated job for Peter and he worked through it amazingly. He rejected used parts that didn't meet his quality standards. He diagnosed a side-issue that turned out to be the biggest problem. I am super pleased with his work. I find him trustworthy and an expert at what he does.

Nice experience with Peter 's B, I had an oil leak and idle vibration problem, they have figured out the problem and solved them with a reasonable labour price.

Although they took a long time for appointments, their service turns out to match up with the waiting.

Great mechanics and superb work. I love peeking through the windows when dropping off my car to see what special cars they are working on today. Seeing them work on those cars really make me trust them with my car.

As A mid-life crisis, I bought the car my dad always wanted before he passed, 2006 Jaguar XKR. After taking it to multiple shops, to fix the silliest of issues, I thought I had made another poor life decision. Then I found Peter and Cindy of Peter B’s in Urbana Illinois. The shop is off the beaten path and the wait list to get in here is overly long. The wait was worth it. All issues on my car resolved. At what price? To my pleasant surprise A very reasonable one! For $106 they told me what needed fixed and a ballpark amount of how much it would cost. I gladly paid the amount.
If you have a European car and live in Champaign County this is your go to place. I get to ride in the car my dad always wanted, life is great! Just Like the crew at Peter B’s.

Peter B's repaired our Sunsent Solar work van. The customer service and repair work was great. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Have taken my vehicles to Peter for over 20 years. Have never had any problems with their work. This is a mechanic I trust to take my vehicles for repair. Issues explained in clear "non-car person" language and I have never felt pressured to get additional work done. I have peace of mind that the work is done correctly the first time. Highly recommend.

I've been using Peter for closer to 30 years. He is the most highly skilled mechanic I ever met. He also runs a completely honest operation—unlike most shops, you won't find metal fillings in your oil pan or new holes in your radiator while doing business here, and the price he quotes is the price you'll pay.

Needed to get an some work done on my Mazda, and I had heard good things from people regarding Peter B's. Not only was the work done with great attention to detail, they went the extra mile to make sure that everything was done exactly as it should be. The folks working there were friendly and able to explain to me exactly what the problem was. Definitely going back the next time I need work done.

Peter B's has been my trusted "go to" repair place for years. And clearly not just mine, as it usually takes a couple of weeks to get an appointment. But Peter and his mechanics are honest - on multiple occasions, they have advised me that I could wait on a repair that a different shop had recommended be done immediately. Top shelf repair team.

Peter B's always provides reliable, high-quality, fairly priced service. I always trust them to tell me what my car needs and not to sell me unnecessary extras.

Peter worked on my Mercedes when I was having some engine trouble. I had spent a couple of hundred dollars attempting to diagnose the problem myself with no success. Peter had my car up and running perfectly within 3-4 days. Very fast and knowledgeable service. Would definitely recommend Peter B's.

Peter, Cindy, Diane, and the whole staff there is great! I have been taking my vehicles there for about twenty years. I take it to the dealer until the warranty runs out and then straight to Peter B's.

They are honest, knowledgeable, and reasonable. You usually need an appointment because they are so popular, but if you have a true emergency, let them know, and they'll try to accommodate you. Also if you've been going to them for years and let them know that you need your car soon they'll fit you in faster if able to. Don't abuse this though!

A couple of the other reviews that are negative, (most of the reviews are glowing), I can tell seem to be unreasonable people. The guy that complained about $150 as being too high. Are you kidding me! You can't get out of a shop for that little of an amount most times! And the other one about how they couldn't fix the issue. There are some things they can't fix due to the car manufacturers keeping some parts proprietary so you have to go to the dealer. Peter B's will fix what they can, and for far less than the dealer, and won't add on a bunch of fluff to jack the cost, and what they can't fix they'll let you know about so you can go to the dealer to get the usually minor item that must be fixed by them, and armed with the knowledge to not let the dealer mess you around.

Take your Toyota to Napleton's/O'Briens as long as the warranty is good, and then take it to Peter B' to get higher quality work done at a definite savings!

We have taken ALL of our cars to Peter for something like 30 years. I trust no one else with our vehicles as completely as I trust him. He is incomparably honest. On several occasions he has told us we would likely have to invest large amounts of money to repair a growing defect in our car, but that we could wait awhile before doing so; then after a few months he would say, "It's OK, we don't have to do it yet"; and a few months later he would say, "It should last awhile longer with no major risks. . ."; and then we would end up trading that car in without ever having done the expensive repair. His concern was/is for us, not just for his profits.

He is extremely knowledgeable and competent. Once I drove up to his shop in a used car that I considered buying, wanting him to do a buyer's check. He didn't know I was coming, but he knew I was looking to buy a vehicle because I had already brought another car in for a buyer's check. It was summer and his shop door was open, and he heard me drive up. Before I could exit my car, he was outside, and the first thing he said was, "You don't want this car. Take it back." He told me to turn the engine back on, and then explained that a teeny sound I hadn't even noticed meant something VERY bad (I don't recall what), and fairly soon we would have to pay over a thousand bucks to get it fixed. On that occasion we benefited not only from Peter's expertise but from his honesty, since he easily could have taken our $90 for a buyer's check.

I trust Peter so much that, if anything goes wrong with our vehicle when we're traveling, I call him for advice. His operation is so advanced that even his office manager, Cindy, is quite the expert. A couple of years ago I was nervous about something that was happening with our car during a long road trip, so I called Peter B's. Cindy was able to tell me (correctly) what to do!

I have learned that a number of people who live in Chicago and even St. Louis bring their high-end cars to Peter for major repairs. But he is gracious, and is equally willing to work on our low-end vehicles.

I am not being hyperbolic when I claim that having Peter B's in our town is a major contributor to the quality of life in Champaign-Urbana.

Peter B's did an alignment on my Miata this week and I couldn't be happier with the service. Checking my car in was quick as was checkout. Great local people providing a great service!

Peter B is the best, hands down. They fix what needs to be fixed, do it correctly and give tips on the best way to keep your car on the road.

We've relied on Peter B's for nearly two decades. Peter is great at keeping in touch about repairs and very forthright about what's worth repairing and what isn't.

Peter worked on my '99 Porsche Boxster twice. Once to help me fix an ECU glitch and the other to fix a Brake Booster/Master cylinder problem. Both times the problem was non-standard and overly complicated. Both times, he was extra diligent and took the extra time needed to fix the problem. Both times, he explained what was wrong with the car, and how he would fix it. Both times, he patiently answered my naive questions and re-explained the car problems until the information finally found a way through my skull. And then, after all his time and energy, he only charged me a reasonable rate for fixing the problems! Peter is a professional and an honest guy. I can't recommend him enough. If you have a high end sports car, don't waste your time at Rick's. Go to Peter B's. He's the best in town.
