This daycare is the best daycare in town. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I have a special needs child and he is non-verbal. They assist will his special needs and never leave him out of activities. The director is willing to listen to the parents and their concerns. Her staff is professional as she is. I have seen parents raise their voices and she maintains her cool. I want to take the time to give the staff a big thank you for all you do to help mold our future into good people. It takes a village to raise children. For working parents we appreciate all you do. Hats 👒 🎩 off to the staff.

I attended this daycare when I was a small child. I am now almost 24 years old. My mom was going to take me to the Anabel Huling Center, but I ended up going here instead.

I still remember this daycare.

Specifically, I remember another child pushing me off the top of a slide....
That part wasn't very fun. Lol

But the rest of the daycare probably was! I was always excited to see the Little Wings statue (?) thing.

I have 2 children that go here and the staff here are very loving and very respectful. Not just toward my children but me as the parent/employee. And they are very respectful to all the other parents who have walked through that door.. they love and care on every child as if they were there own children. All of us as employees or parents go above and beyond to make sure the needs of each and every individual child is met.

I have written a previous review, but it hasn’t been printed yet, so , I will try again..My name is Pamela Welsh and I have taught at Little Wings in Rantoul, Il for almost 20 years. Prior to this, I had taught at other places, due to my husband being in the Air Force and us traveling a lot..I have worked in private, as well as public preschool programs, also Head Start and University based pre school programs. I’ve also worked with blind and autistic children, as well as had a pre school in my own home based program for 5 years. I also established my own day care program in Milport, Oh, under the direction of PICCA, which helped establish a meaningful, learning, program for families that needed assistance... I was Director of that program, and also taught...Before come to Little Wings, I previously taugh Pre School and day care at United Methodist Child Care Center in Rantoul, I’ll....so as you can see, I have been in this business quite a while, and feel qualified to give my opinion of Little Wings Development Center in Rantoul, IL
I teach the pre k, 4-5 year old group, challenging at times, but always interesting, and forever learning, not just the kids, but myself....my co teacher and I strive to give these kids a very positive, creative, learning room, where through our many fun and learning activities, and problem solving skills, where we see them emerge from their cocoon into a beautiful butterfly, by the time they are ready to graduate to Kindergarten!!! We provide problem solving skills, both in learning and in the social emotional areas! We like to have our children well equipped when they start Kindergarten, and I believe we achieve that goal....
I, myself, am continuously trying to stay abreast of the learning curves for children..I am a member of the NAEYC, always reading about new educational methods to try with our children..I have also been awarded “the week of the young child award” twice in the past, which acknowledges your excellent work with the young child...I also received the yearly teaching award at Little Wings this past year, for hopefully being a team play and giving my all to my class. But, my personal favorite award was receiving The Golden Apple Award from channel 15 news in 2009...this showed me that both my parents and children respected me as their child’s teacher, and that they felt secure bringing their child to Little Wings
I go to work, feeling like I work in a clean environment, where most teachers take pride in the cleanliness of their rooms....we clean daily, and keep cleaning sheets to make sure all our cleaning is being done on a regular basis, from cleaning shelves and doorknobs, to disinfecting the bathroom, and keeping cot sheets clean...we check the children daily to make sure they are well enough to be there....our objectives are on the learning child, as well as the cleanliness of the rooms they are learning in....We are fortunate that we have an administration that works with us on the supplies we need for our projects, and for the most part let us teach in a way that most benefits the child.....we try to work as a team, for the betterment of the child.....your child....Please join us at Little Wings, Where Team Work Is Dream Work, AND, Learning Is Fun!!!👫👫👫

My kids attended in 2015 for a few weeks. The staff was amazing but the owner a scammer. He scammed childcare out of thousands of dollars for a few weeks of childcare on top of that they sold “turned over” all my children’s information for a mysterious 1200 balance. At first I thought maybe my childcare didn’t go through so I contacted the state and of course they were paid.

I would like to begin by stating, I did not want to have to write this review, but felt it was necessary for others.
As a means to validate what I am about to say I would like to share that I had worked for Little Wings from 1999-2003 as a teacher’s aid and my mom was a teacher for Little Wings from 1998-2006ish.
I understand firsthand how stressful it is to work in childcare, how easily one burns out, and how under paid childcare workers are.
In addition to, my older children attended Little Wings from 2001-2007. Granted this was over a decade ago, but I feel I had a clear expectation as to how the facility should present itself.

Yesterday I scheduled to tour Little Wings in order to find placement for my 18 month old daughter. I was running behind, but to make sure I kept my appointment to tour I asked my mom to meet me there with my daughter at the designated time agreed on with one of the directors. Upon arrival they had told my mom that I had called to cancel my tour. This was not true, but misunderstandings happen, so no big deal. They were willing to accommodate us and allowed us to tour anyway.

While touring the facility I was absolutely appalled. Most notably, the smell was overwhelming. The facility itself was absolutely filthy. The floors looked like they had not been cleaned in months and were covered in dirt & grit. I noticed used paper plates wedged between wall partitions and the floors. Each classroom we visited had filth built up on the toys and shelves. When reaching for door knobs I felt them covered in gunk. My skin was crawling just being inside of that place. Now please understand, I am not a clean freak by any means. A mess here and there is one thing, but the entire facility was covered in filth to the point I just couldn’t even believe it. I specifically asked the person who provided the tour how often do they clean their toys and shelves and without missing a beat she said they clean them daily which was obviously untrue. Not only that, but teachers were yelling at other teachers from across their class rooms even though they knew we were there to tour. In addition to that, I witnessed some of the teachers forcing 3 year olds to sit in one place for what had to be a solid 20 minutes without engaging them while they gossiped. I fell it is unreasonable to expect young children to sit still for lengthy periods of time without engaging them in any activity. I mean, it was just unbelievable.

In conclusion, I was very hopeful that my daughter would be able to share the same experiences that her brothers had several years ago. However, that is no longer an option. I could not in good conscious allow her to enroll after our most recent experience.
