First vet visit after adopting Mira from the humane society. They had a promo to waive first-time visits, so that was very nice.

Staff and Veterinarian was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be coming back to visit for check ups. Thank you!

I've used Good Friends for 3 years consistently, nearly since we adopted our sweet girl, Beesly. We initially went to another vet in town and just were not happy at all. Our dog is an anxious mess, and everyone is always so good to her, very gentle, never rushed, trying to go on Beesly's terms. She even did really well overall when we boarded her, and we were all anxious about how that would go!
I honestly don't think there is a better place in town, the level of care is unprecedented. The space is always clean and it's very well maintained. All staff that I've had the pleasure of interacting with have been truly wonderful, so knowledgeable and helpful. I'd not trust anyone else with Beesly even half as much as I trust Good Friends. We had appointments during the pandemic, so things were a bit different where I wasn't able to accompany Beesly but she did just great- as I knew she would, I'm truly not sure I would have been okay with that anywhere else.

I think the pricing is on par and fair for the services provided. Overall, working with Good Friends gives me peace of mind, and that alone is worth it.

Absolutely the best veterinarian I have ever been to. Their team is incredibly compassionate. You are missing out if you decide to take your pet to any other vet in town. I don’t experience this level of compassion and gentle care anywhere else, even at the doctors office. They truly care about your pet.

Called them for first time ever and got an appointment for an hour later. Dr.Susan is Amazing, she had love in her heart for my dog. His care was Stellar, they are all so easy to talk to. Another bonus, the vet bill was reasonable. I would Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for Awesome care of their pets.

The entire staff has been caring and supportive. My dog ended up with cancer that required specialized treatment. The doctor kept up on the status and well being of my dog even while he was cared for by the specialist. They've been great since I switched to them a couple years ago.

I have been bringing my cat here for 4 years and love everyone! Such honest care and love to animals. And I appreciate the individual care. I will always recommend Good Friends❤

I recently switched vet care for my senior French Bulldog to GFAH. I cannot say enough good things! Every staff member I have interacted with has been kind, professional, and knowledgeable. It was very easy to get in for an appointment. The veterinarian that we saw spent a lot of time with us and explained things clearly and most importantly my dog loved her! I am very thankful that we switched to Good Friends, would highly recommend to anyone in the CU area needing vet care.

Good Friends is great. I take my personal dogs and I've taken a lot of my fosters to them. They've gone above and beyond for my fosters, even though I keep bringing them spicy ones.

This was the only place in town (besides UIUC vet med $$$) that could get my dog in right away for urgent care.
We were in and out in about an hour and the bill for urgent care was comparable to what I'd pay my usual vet for regular services. I do go to one of the pricier vets in town and, having 2 older dogs, the cost becomes overwhelming.
I left Good Friends looking forward to following up with Dr. Norris in a couple of weeks for my girl's UTI.
They were understanding and responsive to my particular concerns and very generous and compassionate. I feel confident with Dr. Norris' assessment and I strongly suspect that this will be my girl's new vet going forward.
There was a small mistake on the bill which was resolved with a quick phone call.

I so appreciate the kind and professional care that my beloved Charisma! received at Good Friends. He unexpectedly became very seriously ill and needed immediate emergency treatment on a Saturday morning. Although the clinic was very busy with a full schedule, I was able to get him admitted as an Urgent Care client, and he received prompt, expert attention.

Sadly, Charisma! passed away on Saturday evening, however, he had a quick and easy passing with no pain or worries, thanks to the treatment he had received. It was not possible to save him, but I felt grateful for the medical intervention and support provided on such short notice.

Had an emergency with my dog. They were able to get us in right away. Fist time taking a pet here. It was a great experience. Everyone was super nice. We were in and out pretty quick. They had our dog feeling much better the next day. Thank you!

Dr. Susan and staff took great care of our girl! She loves to swim and ended up with a double ear infection…Good Friends was able to see Bella quickly and fixed her right up. The curbside service was great too!

This is a hard review to write, so I'll be brief. We've been seeing Dr Norris for many years with our canine best friend and she has gotten to know our dog. When our 100lb rottweiler/black lab mix started declining, Dr Norris warned us that there's no cure for her condition. She was honest with her prognosis and advised us on how to manage our expectations. When it came time, Dr Norris gave us her cell phone number and told us she was available for a house call when the time came. When we finally made that fateful phone call, Dr Norris came to our house and performed the gentlest end-of-life procedure with the utmost kindness and respect for both the animal and the humans involved. Our dog passed peacefully without any struggles or pain. She also arranged for the crematorium to pick up the body later that day. On this very sad day, we did not have to worry about any of the details or paperwork that we could properly mourn our loss. Thank you Dr Norris for providing this service, we really appreciate what you do as we can easily see how hard it is on you as well.

As a 17 year old, they had no problem with me coming by myself. It was a cool experience and they treated my puppy very well. They even trimmed his nails. I also got a 2lb. bag sample of Hill's Science Diet food and a Nexgard with my first appointment. If you're looking for a great place for your puppies first shots, be sure to stop here.

I’ve taken my kitty here since I brought her home from the shelter in 2021. I always did curbside, but she would come back and be so relaxed she went to sleep in her crate on the way home, so I knew that she was receiving good care. I went into the office for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised I could go into the exam room with her. She was there for a nail trim and physical, and I was completely thrilled with the care I saw her receive. The tech was very kind and gentle with her, you’d think it was his own cat! He even counted as he trimmed her nails. The vet was also extremely nice and I never saw my cat look anxious at being examined by her. She stayed and answered questions for me and I felt very welcomed. I would recommend this practice 100 times over to anyone, but especially anyone with a cat, because they’re not a fan of new places and it takes true heart and skill to make them feel so comfortable.

If you are looking for a veterinary clinic where the vets and care team will love your pet as much as you do, this is 100% the place to go. My best friend has had so many health problems throughout her life due to her FeLV, and Dr. Norris and the entire care team have been there for her to help her with every single one. They are patient, compassionate, and clearly communicate all you need to know about your pets health and care plans. We never worry if my cat gets the best care possible for her needs here - she always does. This is truly a place where you will find healthcare heroes for you furry loved one. 10/10

The folks at Good Friends animal hospital have taken great care of my dog, from checkups to emergency stitches. I love that they are just a few blocks away, also. I think their prices are competitive.

GFAH was recommended to me by someone I trust, and they commented specifically on the staff's genuine love and respect for their cats, and the lack of overselling unnecessary procedures and/or medications.

So, I took the leap to get my cat checked in on after recent adoption. At the time of this review, we're in the middle of Covid-19, and the staff took extreme precaution to maintain safety for the animals, their families, and themselves while maintaining sincerity, professionalism, and thoroughness of care. While I wasn't able to be with my cat during the visit, I had no doubt that he was in loving hands.

I was grateful to be consulted before they irrigated and treated my cat's ears. Staff made sure to address any questions I had when I arrived with the vet and followed up with recommendations and tips. They also provided itemized receipts at the time of payment and post-visit paperwork via email.

I cannot say enough good about this office and the people who work there. Thank you so much for your TLC, GFAH. I will return indefinitely, and recommend frequently!
