I picked this place because of its proximity to campus so that I could stop in between classes and work. Kyung was extremely meticulous AND quick at the same time. I could tell she is excellent at what she does, and she knew exactly what to do with my wavy hair. I appreciated that she cut it dry so that she could see how my hair would act. She is also very sweet. I look forward to coming here again.

This is my go-to salon for haircuts. The stylist is both friendly and skilled, consistently delivering great results. Additionally, she is accommodating when it comes to scheduling appointments.

Great experience! She is very quick with her work and very talented. I have really thick, straight hair and I always have trouble with hair dressers not knowing how to layer it. That was not the case here! Probably one of the best hair cuts I’ve gotten in a long time.

I have been to a handful of barbers over the last couple of years on campus and I think I finally found the spot! I was looking for something new and Kate was very helpful in getting me a hairstyle I didn't know I needed.

I had a wonderful experience! I hate getting my haircut and really only go once every year or two and just trim my bangs at home, but it was time. I chose this place because it was on campus and I was able to make a same day appointment online.

Kate was so sweet and helpful. I never have a super set plan when I go in and just said I wanted some dead ends off and overall trim. She cut the length and I said go ahead and take some more off, she also asked about layers to which I said yes to.

She went with it, did her thing, and I am so pleased with the results! I could tell she kept making sure to reclip, move it around, and retrim as necessary (a step many other places don't do very well and you go home with an uneven cut). I am so happy I chose here and would definitely go again and recommend to anyone on (or even off) campus. A very clean, calm, and nice environment and stylist.

Had the most pleasant experience with Kyung. She expertly cut my hair, which been grown out and uneven for a few months now. She is very friendly as well. Would definitely recommend getting a haircut here; it’s worth the price !

I have gone to four different salons in the past that were overpriced and didn't know how to cut my naturally wavy hair. I told and showed Kate the same thing as I did with the other salons and she actually made it happened. Picked this place on a whim and was nervous but this is literally the second best hair cut I've received. Had to pay extra, $10, for a wash which isn't highlighted on the website but I didn't mind. She cut my hair dry first and then washed it which I believe more hair stylist need to do. She is also very nice. Def coming back here.

I cut my hair from medium length to a very short length with very light bangs. Having previous bad experiences with hairstylists when it comes to bangs, I was a little anxious to try out this place. But she did an amazing job with my bangs, making it exactly the length and lightness I wanted. The haircut overall is really great and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. She is also very sweet and comfortable to talk to. She really is meticulous and patient like everyone else says on here, so you'll definitely be getting a great haircut. The space itself is very relaxing and nicely designed. Thank you Hair Square! I will be coming back again!

Best hair salon in CU! I recently had my fifth haircut by Kate (over the last 12+ months). Each time was excellent, each cut with precise detail, and since my hair is extremely fine I’m always surprised at how great it looks. Kate is a professional, but also kind, great sense of humor, and a wonderful person. I’m deeply appreciative and lucky to be a client. Highly recommend.

I used to have long hair and wanted to cut short. She took her time to examine my hair (hard or soft, think or thin, and even color) so that she could give me the best possible advice on which hair style is the most fitting. She is indeed very patient as what everyone else said and I received so many positive comment about my hair since I got it done (especially with the discount of 20% off during a promotion). The place looks very new and comfortable. I am so thankful that I finally find someone who KNOWS about MY hair and can make the BEST possible decision for my hair style: )

Kate is a friendly hairstylist who definitely knows how to cut Korean-style haircuts. Her place is modern and clean. She's attentive to detail and makes sure you get your perfect haircut!

The lady who cut my hair was so nice. I went simply to get my hair trimmed but I left with a haircut I was very happy with. It felt like she took the time to make sure she was also happy with the haircut she gave me, which I really appreciated. It’s a small salon so it’s easier to miss, but I’d definitely recommend getting a cut here.

I had really long hair and I was going pretty short so I was pretty nervous. But Kate took care of me. Gave me exactly what I wanted and picked up on the fact that I'm not much of a talker. Definitely recommend.

I am graduating and moving away from Champaign soon and one of the saddest parts for me is that I am going to have to find a hair stylist as wonderful as Kate. She's done my hair 3 times now, including one balayage treatment I just love and every time she is patient, lovely to chat with, and gets it perfect. I always leave with my hair feeling super soft, very clean and precisely cut. She really takes the time for you and finding another hairstylist that is willing to be patient with my long and thick hair is going to be a challenge, it always has. She always uses great products on my hair as well, I even ordered from Ulta some products from a line she used to blow dry my hair because it smells great and I can't stop touching my hair. She is great, I highly recommend her for anybody in Champaign needing a great cut. The photo is my current cut and color from her, it's so smooth when normally my hair is rough, has a lot of fly aways and split ends, and she took care of it all for me and I can't wait to try my new products. I'm gonna miss having her as a hairdresser!

This was by far one of the best haircut experiences I’ve had in Champaign. The cut was quality to the last strand, and the lady understands high fashion style especially with the latest trends of asian culture. Finding a place of this caliber was a gold mine! I highly recommend.

Great hairstylist, lovely lady to talk to. Cut includes full hair washes before and after. Runs a cute sock sale on the side! Cut takes quite a while, so make sure to have a free hour or so. Overall great experience.
