Mattis Park

This is a nice quiet place to walk or bike around and there were families fishing on the west shore. The park district maintains it well and I'm appreciative of the infrastructure improvements they've made to the pathways over the years. I also like the extra touches that make this an aesthetically pleasant destination, such as the garden nooks, the shady sitting areas, and the sculpture (of which I hope they add more in the future). I enjoyed my time painting a quick watercolor sketch there.

Nice walking area around the lake

Great neighborhood park away from busy streets. Lots of geese. Nice wheelchair access from parking lot off Devonshire drive. Sidewalk goes around the lake and is in excellent condition. No restrooms or playground for the kids.

I've been to this place twice, I like that it has several trails and that is centric, I feel safe walking or running even in the evening. There is a trail across the street that I'm going to explore in the future, seems more secluded. It's also very close to harvest market, which makes it very convenient

We love this park. It's just a large green space surrounding a pond. There's a walking trail and a couple large sculptures. My kids love to watch the geese and ducks, or climb on the rocks around one seating area. Always feels safe, kept clean. Many people fish here.

Cute, clean park complete with a little free library and plenty of trash cans. People do tend to leave their fishing line laying around and geese get injured due to it.

I really like how the city laid out the many varieties of trees and the curving walkways that keep you moving.

Mattis Park has been a sanctuary to us many times, and thankful to have access so close to town. Wonderful place to take in some nature and relax.

Nice place to walk around the pond, relax. You can fish there with a fishing license and enjoy the outdoors. It's a small park but therapeutic getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This park is beautiful. There are several benches to stay with small gardens. Flowers are everywhere.

Beautiful park. I would have never known this place even existed if my brother had not told me about it. His mother has a honorary tree planted there, and I went to see it. The park is very clean and well kept.

What an amazing park! Lots of easy, free parking. Great, wide, paved walking trail winding around the pond. Very well kept. Mowed grass. Beautiful trees. People fishing. Felt very safe.

It's a great place to fly kites and walk your dog! Walkways wind around a quaint yet large pond. Plenty of benches and seating are available if you just want to take in the Champaign air. Some sidewalks are prone to flooding so watch out if it just rained!

It's a beautiful park!

Has never been very occupied when I have been there, which is nice for walking/running at your own pace. Family/pet friendly. Shaded areas for having lunch. Benches for viewing the lake or bird/people watching.

This is such a lovely park with a pond ducks and a very nice walking trail. I also love the beautiful flowers and gardening they have. They also have a lot of nice benches.
