Well priced hometown comfort food. Friendly staff, fast service. We had a great time. Follow up, had a breakfast skillet today, very good.

I was visiting Peoria for three days. I came here the first day for breakfast and came back the next two subsequent days as well. Friendly staff, good prices, and great food most importantly. The service was quick and the atmosphere reminded me of places back home. Seeing the same locals here every morning tells you all you need to know. Support this local, small business putting out great food.

I had a really lovely experience with the service staff, regulars and especially the food! Everything was prepared exactly how I wanted it, and was really great quality!! The staff, Candice and Dawn, were extremely welcoming and made sure we were taken care of and comfortable with our experience. Anyone looking for a down to earth, delicious and authentic breakfast experience should definitely stop by and check out Mel’s cafe. It was an easy 5 star review, you won’t regret it!

I had their special 2x4 (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage) and it was fantastic! Tried some of my wife's biscuits and gravy and they were just as good as my meal. Service was spot on! Great restaurant with even better pricing! Can't wait to go back!

The food at Mel's is awesome. Good home cooking like your Mamas. The goulash is to die for. Friendly wait staff. Prices you can't beat. And their soda glasses are huge!!!!

Mel's is the epitome of a small town diner. We come often for breakfast. Most of the menu items are under $10,but portions are large and cooked just the way you want. The wait staff treats you like family. Try a skillet breakfast- the half order is more than I can finish.

Mel's Cafe is one of the best small diners we have ever been to. The home town atmosphere is wonderful. The food is homemade and gives generous portions. Their prices are so reasonable and their nightly specials are absolutely amazing. Our personal favorite is Wednesday night and the chicken and noodles. The staff is cheerful and they know many of the patrons by name. This past Wednesday night (7/24/19) was very busy and a table was hard to find. When we did sit down our waitress ( Candace) greeted us and told us she would be right back as she had food to take to a table. She delivered the food and then took our drink and food order and was off to get the drinks to us. Her cheerful smile and pleasant attitude was awesome. After getting our food to the table and despite being busy she checked on us often. It is not easy to find a small diner where every time you walk in you feel like part of the family and this cafe has the feeling. It is worth trip!

Been coming here for years and it's fantastic food and it's consistent. Wonderful comfort food, and top quality. The service is always good. They have great daily special's, like walleye, Meatloaf, Chicken and noodles. Some of the every day menu items include full breakfast and lunch items. One of my favorite's is the Pork Tenderloin, it's tender and juicy with flavor out the door! If you're hungry just give Mel's a try, you won't be disappointed.

Great food... love there specials, awesome sausage gravy and omelets and coffee never runs dry! Staff are very friendly and love to see there customers! Very nice little diner. You don't find many of these left anymore! 5 stars plus ➕

Wonderful, friendly service. The best omelet I've ever had! Corned beef hash with green peppers, onions and cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! They aren't in any hurry, but the family atmosphere helps you to sit back and relax.

This place is always busy for good reason. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. It has a small, town homey atmosphere that makes it easily enjoyable.

Our favorite little breakfast spot when we're in town. Nothing fancy inside, but the food is good old-fashioned comfort. Waitresses are always nice and attentive. I've only had one bad experience where the food was overcooked, but they made it right.

Great food and service! We rolled in 12 deep, all separate tickets, and the servers did FANTASTIC! Meat lovers skillet was awesome! 🤘😎🤘 Great job Mel's staff!
