Independence Park

Checked this out today both paved paths and also winding Mtn biking trails that I hiked with my dog today. I will definitely be coming back. The trails are to the RIGHT of the parking lot. Not the parking lot in front of the small fenced dog park but the parking to the right of that. Walk around behind the sports fields and you will see them. It’s a really good place to explore.

Great place to hike. Clean well cleared single track trails. Trail 1 and trail 2 together are about an hour and a half hike.

Spook Hollow, what more to say. I was helping with the security and in watching the people coming through, I could see everyone was having a blast, enjoying getting scared out their minds! The actors, mostly kids between the ages of 10 and 17, were amazing! They really worked their voices off to scare and the proof could be heard in the screams of patrons. The only downside wasn't from the actors but from certain patrons who felt the need to threaten actors for doing nothing but their jobs! One of the girls even got hit by a guy for no other reason than he felt the need to show off. Other than that it is a fantastic time and if you like getting scared and jumping out of your skin for the fun of it, make plans to go through Spook Hollow!

Love the paved trails, clean restrooms, and baseball diamonds. Great for taking your dogs for a walk. Or head over to the dog park. If you want to go in the woods, there are clearly marked trails - just look out for bike riders! If you go in far enough, you may come across the waterfall - one of my son's favorite places to visit with his friends.

This is one of the best MTB parks in Illinois

Good trails off the beaten path to unwind. The creek was dry when I went but you can tell that it has a lot of water after a rain. Tiny little waterfall.

The trails are a little confusing so more signage wouldn't hurt but we saw plenty of wildlife and spent a few hours wandering the 7 to 12 miles of lovely Illinois woodland.

Beautiful open spaces, well maintained and clean. Playground, dog park, restrooms, baseball fields, batting cages, ample parking, paved walking trail, shelter with lights and electrical outlets and tons of awesome mountain biking and hiking trails throughout the woods.

I love this park because there is lots of wildlife that like to hide out. There are also a couple of parks in here. I think it's very beautiful when the wildlife decides to come out and explore! I do visit here often because it's in Marquette Hights. I'd be very excited to come back again! This place is good for bringing younger kids, but I'm not sure if there is a bathroom nearby, or not.

Love taking our entire family here. Kids, dogs, adults... we all love this park! Nice track, clean play ground, restrooms always clean, hiking trails nearby. It is walking distance from home and we spend a lot of time here during the summer.

Great park tucked back into the woods and away from the road! Huge pavillion with a ton of tables and electrical hook ups. The playground has a little age on it, but still very nice!

Amazing trails. A little overgrown sometimes which is a little annoying but great selection of trails with different hills and terrain. Great fun on a bike, running or walking! Bring your dog! Mine runs off leash and no problem.

Pretty neat trails, but very confusing.

Lots of up and downs. Trail 3 is challenging. Lost the trail on the grassy area and had to bail out and walk along Lasalle. Good workout.

Great ballparks, wooded hiking trails and a walking / biking path. Playground, shelter and concessions to boot! Awesome facilities!

Not to mention: home to Spook Hollow - the Spookiest scare park every Halloween!

An all around wonderful way to spend the day...in this beautiful park! Lots of trails, a walking path & a creek that is quite relaxing.

Nice place to play ball you can bring a chair or sit on the bleachers... and there we no parking or gate fees for a tournament that's a blessing !
