Book and Bean Cafe

Diamond in the most unsuspecting place! My husband and I have had the honor of stumbling into this place in need of caffeine and something warm in our bellies.. it was an early afternoon adventure of running errands and completing quests.. we diverted into this cozy, little cafe, and our eyes were filled with wonder and surprise. Freshly baked desserts and treats called to us, while a menu of sweet, delectable caffeinated beverages attempted to entice our gaze. With every visit, we have been well met by the person behind the counter, creating our frappe with a gentle smile upon their face. There are 2 cozy cushioned seats near the windowed wall where we have sat and basked in the sunlight while sipping on our fraps! We have decided to never visit a big name coffee shop ever again. We have sworn an Oath to the Cafe of Book and Bean.

Cutest little cafe I've been to this year! Scrumptious chocolate covered cheesecake and a relaxing aura, it's perfect for an early morning pick-me-up or post-study snack!

This little cafe is MAGICAL! The food is amazing. The drinks…… oh my gosh. The Lavender spritzer!!! What a delicious, and refreshing summer drink!! The “treats” - if you happen to see a banana pudding, it’s your LUCKY day! 🤌🏻. The carrot cake is a ten on a scale of 1-5. The sandwiches - you can close your eyes and pick a winner. Tammy is a gem of a person, and the customer service is great. You are welcome in this place. Kudos to the Book n Beans Cafe!

Such an awesome little spot for a quick little bite to eat. My wife and I had some wraps and an iced coffee. Wraps had that homemade feel and well priced. Coffee was delicious 👌🏻

Nice little coffee and pastry shop attached to the library. Local kids on their laptops doing homework, parents reading to their kids. Has the whole library vibe, and I loved it. Coffee was great, the frappe is great, and the apple panini we bought also tasted great. Lovely little place and has the perfect coffee shop feel to it. Also has art on the wall you can purchase to support local students going to school. Very nice.

The food and drinks here are so good. The cafe it self is so cute. I love this place.

I love this café. Tammy is one of the kindest people I know, and I love the menu. She will even amend an item on the menu to the best of her ability to fit your dietary needs.

I love Book and Bean! The staff is always pleasant and the atmosphere is welcoming. Ask for the red velvet cupcakes — the only red velvet cake I've actually liked! I hope they're there next time I go! <3 I like the avocado BLT, too!

Book and Bean Cafe is a treasure housed within the Joliet Public Library's Black Road Branch. I thought it was simply a coffee shop but was pleased to learn they have a broad menu of food items and baked treats. There's a children's menu too, and puzzles and games for children to play with in the cafe. I had the tomato tortellini soup with a grilled cheese and it was delicious. I look forward to returning!

Cute coffee shop attached to the local library. Actually have a very robust food menu for such a small location.

Unique cafe experience inside library. Scrumptous sandwiches named after famous authors. I had a Dante that was delicate on the palette. Art to purchase and sundry take home novelty items. Designer coffee drinks, sodas.

Tami the owner is very friendly. She bakes and cooks the food on site. That's as fresh as fresh can be. Love the scones she bakes and Chia Tea Latte. Attached to Joliet library located off of Black Rd. Grab your coffee and then read a good book. Perfectly located for this book nerd 😊

My daughter and I love this place! There is a wide variety of food for kids and adults. Everything is always delicious. Every couple of weeks when we have library books due, we look forward to our lunch date.

Everyone is so nice and kind and I love that the food is made to order and it's always so fresh! What a gem to be in the JPL library!

They are so welcoming, will be missed.
