We stayed at Gray Wolf Lodge on 5/22 after traveling all day. The gentleman that assisted me was super helpful and professional. The room was nice and clean, and we even left the housekeeper a good tip. This place is a great place if you are traveling and need a quick stop. Prices are reasonable, excellent job on cleanliness and customer service. We would rent it again.

It's a very nice place to stay they have a indoor pool and there's a restaurant called three seasons there's a gas station but the best part about gray wolf is when you walk outside you can see clearly at our Lake and it looks lovely.

Very pleasant location for the price! Rooms are nice and cozy and has the essentials. Hot tub is great, pool didn't feel heated but was still nice! They have a nice little private beach across the street that is nice as well. Highly suggested if you're coming out this way to check out everything out here!

The lodge is right across the street from their private beach. The hotel looks good, although our room could use some repairs/upgrades.
Overall, the building was in good repair, and looks very nice! The staff were really friendly, and we enjoyed talking to them.
I would recommend them for a stay! The price is reasonable, and the private beach is an added bonus!

We loved this place! Incredibly spacious room, comfortable and clean beds, 2 recliners in our room! Excellent lighting, two sinks and loads of counter space in the bathroom! Front desk personnel were very pleasant. Discount on breakfast at the café next door. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at the Gray Wolf Lodge in September 2023 - we were passing through from Wisconsin to the lower peninsula of Michigan, stopping by Manistique for a night.

Gray Wolf Lodge is a road side hotel that has both a pool + hot tub and private access to Lake Michigan! We were sold.

Our room was clean and in a hotel that, while it has aged, is still kept in good condition. The pool and hot tub were great for us and our kids.

Our experience was topped off by the extremely friendly staff - the staff were available when we had issues with a vending machine (giving it to us on the house) and then helping to jump our car when our car battery died and the car service company was no where to be found.

All in all - we'd be back and we're glad to support a local business in Manistique!

I enjoyed my stay here. Was driving through from Island Resort casino on a cold, rainy day hauling my camper when I came across this place. The hot tub felt great, room was clean and comfortable. The lady working the front desk was extremely friendly, we chatted for quite a while. It's been three years since I've stayed here but I have told plenty of others about this place if they are every in the Manistique area.

I needed a place to stay as a stopover on a long drive. I called ahead to ask for a first floor room and they accommodated me without a problem.

This hotel has rooms that open directly to the outside, so you can pull right up to your door. I had a single queen room, which was a bit cozy, but ultimately had everything I needed. The mattress was VERY firm, which is not good for me personally, but I know others like it that way. It had a mini FRIDGE (super cold) and a MICROWAVE and a little table near the bed. The window opened right out to the Lake Michigan beach a few feet across the road. In my humble opinion, this area ranks #1 for the most beautiful stretch of Lake Michigan shoreline. It’s just unbelievably gorgeous. If you can ever manage to catch it at sunrise or sunset, you’ll be happy you did.

We were not there long enough to partake, but this hotel also has its own private beach a 30 second walk across the road on Lake Michigan and it’s super close to the boardwalk that runs along the lake.

There is a restaurant next to the parking lot and you can get 10% off your meal as a guest of the hotel.

The man at the front desk, who might have been the owner (?), was so sweet and nice. It was a small thing, but after a long drive it was nice to be greeted by someone who was kind and understanding. My son and I just planned to eat a bowl of cereal for dinner and then crash, but I neglected to pack any spoons. I went back to the front desk to ask if they had any and the man at the desk just gave me an understanding smile and then went in search of some spoons for me. Again, a small thing but it was a huge relief because we were tired & hungry.

Lastly, there was something about this hotel that gave me that familiar, Northwoods and/or UP feeling. It’s hard to put my finger on it, but maybe it’s the slightly rustic feel, or the little bit of sand that blew from the beach into the parking lot, or just being able to glance over and see the sandy lakeshore. Whatever it was, I liked it.

RECOMMENDATIONS: (1) one thing that could be improved would be outlets and/or options to charge a phone or other device. The outlets were in odd places and we had a kind of precarious setup in order to charge our phones and iPad. I would recommend investing in those bedside lamps many hotels have that have a power outlet and USB port right on the base of the lamp. Since there is a lamp on each side of the bed, it would make things much easier when you’re settling in. (2) I know mattresses are probably incredibly expensive to replace, but I would honestly recommend starting to switch your mattresses over to something better that could accommodate more types of sleepers. It ended up being fine for the night, but if I were staying a week I would have had a difficult time sleeping in that bed every night.

I love this place. We travel through the UP a lot and love to stop here. It's older quiet motel with a great view of the water. A beach across the street, cafe next door thats open for 3 seasons and a pool/hot tub. The owners, I assume, working the desk and answering the phone were super nice. If you need a place to stop in the UP and aren't looking for fancy this is your spot. We have a lot of great memories in this spot.

The staff is great, they go above and beyond. I'm grateful that they left a key for me when arriving after hours. The ooms are nice, quiet, and peaceful. I haven't checked out the private beach yet, but it looks great from here. I highly recommend the gray wolf lodge.

Rooms are a little dated but very clean. Beds are comfy. Staff are friendly and helpful. The road in front is a bit noisy during the day but pretty quiet at night. Only downfall is the hot tub isn't very hot and very sudsy when jets are turned on. Having a private beach right acroas the street is noce :-) Definitely worth the price!! I would stay again if I'm ever in the area.

Great hotel. Large, clean rooms. Right across from the beach. The road in front is very busy during the day, but at night we left our window open and could hear the waves on the lake. Pool area was very nice. Pool was clean and warm. The restaurant next door had delicious food and great service. You also get 30 percent off coupon from the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

We were traveling and my wife got a migraine. Called and they made sure she had a room early and was very sympathetic. Great service and staff!

We had a great experience with our large party. Five adults and five kids are not welcome everywhere, but we were offered adjacent rooms which were more spacious than any hotel we stayed at on this trip and just as clean. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked very clean as well. Desk and cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating.
Highly recommended. Great value. Don't let a few people's bad experience deter you.
