Great choice for a good hot meal. We had the pasties and were not disappointed. They were great and I had leftovers. Great value as well - prices are reasonable. Save room for the pie if you can. If you are looking for a corporate chain restaurant experience...this is not your place. It's a very traditional cafe like so many mom and pop places around Michigan. I will make it a point to stop there again.

Vickie was an amazing server. She's been at the restaurant for 14 years. Her care for the restaurant and her customers really showed. All of our dinners were delicious. We had a hard time picking from the 4 fish options and that's when Vickie told us about the "Fisherman's Dinner". All of the fish was cooked to perfection. The portions were huge on every plate. It was as delicious as it all looks. My family of 9 all walked away with full bellies and leftovers. We only wish we would've saved room for dessert. If you are in the area you should definitely stop by!

Some of the best food out here, had a bite of their pancakes as well and they are a must-have. Salad bar was fairly good as well. Nice and fresh with a lot of choices. I don't remember her name, but the waitress taken care of all the front was incredibly sweet.

Our waitress, Dawn was very attentive and one of the nicest waitresses. Food was wonderful. Had the soup and salad bar with our meal. Haven't seen this offer in a long time. Everything was fresh on the bar and the soups were warm and delicious. You definitely won't leave hungry. Thank you for the wonderful service!

Great place to get a fantastic breakfast in if you’re in the area. Our family got the French toast, breakfast burrito, and southern omelette. It was all very good and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and we got our food very quickly.

First visit, even though we work right here in town. I wish we had come sooner! Cute, clean - homey 80's feel (giving away my age).
The BEST Rueben sandwich I've ever had. Bar none. Service was prompt but patient, and per usual here in the UP, the people were super nice. Everyone had a smile and seemed to be genuinely happy to be of service!
Prices were completely reasonable - no 'total $$$ shockers' on the menu.

My grandparents used to take me to places just like this when I was a kid.
Will definitely make this a regular spot!

We've stopped here a couple of times on our trips between MN and MI. Each time we're greeted by super friendly staff, the food is consistently good, prices affordable and bathrooms clean. Definitely recommend if you're looking for an easy-going place to get a sit down meal while on the road.

The owner/chef came out to me personnally to find out how I wanted my fish! Fresh perch right out of the lake. My husband had the walleye and said it was delicious.

Great find on the way to Kitch-iti-kipi! Local no-frills place with solid food & service. Lots of people eating there in their work clothing, and probably a few hunter/fishermen.

We checked the great reviews then stopped in after a harrowing 2+ hour drive along Lake Michigan through heavy rain & fog. They were just setting up for lunch. My husband got a terrific breakfast, and even though they had a lot of wonderful looking menu items, I couldn't stop myself from getting yet another pasty! (I'm a fan!).

The pasty was wonderful, the crust was tender and flaky, and the gravy was very good. Ketchup was on the table, so I could alternate bites with it and the gravy. Sooo gooood!

The salad bar was super fresh and had a lot of great choices, including pasta salads and soups. The taco pasta salad was surprisingly good.

The servers were all so sweet, friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean and well stocked; you had to walk past the kitchen to get to them & the kitchen looked very clean. We will definitely stop in again when in the area.

Really nice. Have had some hit or miss experiences with local restaurants in the UP on our camping trip. The service here, though, was excellent. Attentive, friendly, genuine. Every interaction we observed by all of the staff seemed warm and welcoming. The homemade vegetable beef soup on the soup and salad bar was amazing. If I lived locally, I would buy it in bulk. Really happy we stopped in tonight.

Wow - we’re so glad we chose this place for lunch. We were seated quickly, the food came quickly, and it was absolutely delicious. We tried the spaghetti, pasty, salad bar, brunch burger and more! Everyone was happy with their meal.

My wife and I rode our bikes to dinner. The experience was well wroth the ride. I had the smoked pork chops. Real smoked with the pink color, and my wife had the perch. We asked and the perch were locally and fresh caught. It pays to be on Lake Michigan. Their homemade tomato basil soup was really good. Tried to get the recipe, but they wouldn't give it out. For dessert my wife had the carrot cake, just the way she likes with raisins. Portions were good size with a fair price. Good food with friendly service. When one of the servers heard we were from where she lived and worked for 30 years, she came over to talk with us. When we come back to town we will definitely stop.👍

We went there for the Pasty and it didn’t disappoint! The salad bar was included and it had tons of things on it including two homemade soups- I had cheesy potato and it was amazing! The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. Very, very nice people! The menu was big and they serve breakfast all day. I would definitely go here again if I’m visiting the area!

In full disclosure of "atmosphere", we didn't dine in. We did carry out. It was a cute place though. Looked clean and taken care of.

The person taking our phone order was friendly and helpful. The food was ready when they said it'd be.

I ordered a veggie omelet (breakfast anytime). It was good. Veggies were fresh. The American fries (diced and cooked on flat top) were good too. I thought half dollar pancakes were little. They were the size of my head. Lol. They were delicious and I was full after eating one. The meal was enough for two really. We are in a hotel so I didn't save the leftovers (nothing to warm up on since we had styrofoam carry out containers).

My husband had a patty melt and soup and said both were good.

We will probably stop for lunch or dinner tomorrow.
