Angelina's Mexican Restaurant

It's such a nice warm environment walking in. All of the staff are kind, welcoming, and attentive. The food tastes great! The tamales and chicken quesadillas were a hit with the little one. 20/10, she said. The chicken enchiladas were a 10/10. Everything all the way to using the bathroom, which looked very clean and maintained. Everything was great! 100% satisfied customers and will be back!

Even though they do not have taco tuesday. They do have great daily specials or better called lunch menu. We had the shrimp and beef tacos. Service was prompt, and delivery of food was just as quick. A lot of time your food sets under a light for a bit. Watching other tables how fast food was being delivered to other patrons fresh and hot was above expectations. Be sure to visit this place.

They have great Birria taco’s, their dip sauce is so good!! They also have great tasting queso dip too! The tacos were loaded with meat, the beans were good too! The queso dip is creamy and isn’t spicy at all, it has great flavor. You can get chips or Tortilla shells with it. We got carry out and it was packaged with care. This is a great place to go to get your Mexican food fix! They have really great prices, plenty of parking! They also have a kids menu. I will add pictures when we order again!!!

The staff were so kind and welcoming. I got the quesabirria dinner and it was AMAZING. They gave us the option to have spicy salsa, mild, or both with our chips, which I've never had a restaurant do before. The atmosphere is also great!

This restaurant is my favorite in this area. It's always clean, has incredible food, is decently priced, and has nice wait staff. I definitely recommend going to this restaurant for Mexican food. There's plenty of parking and you get your food quickly.

I absolutely LOVE this place! I’ve been coming faithfully once a week for abt a month now. Everything I’ve had has been delicious! Mexican sandwich, tamales, enchiladas, street tacos, strawberry cheesecake chimichanga! I’m literally a fan! I’ve read some reviews at other places saying that they are the best Mexican place downriver and I beg to differ! Service here is always great and friendly, food is always fresh and fast, chips and salsa are amazing and the flavors of everything is just delicious! This is definitely my go to spot and will continue to be!

Today is my birthday and I chose Angelina's in Southgate as the place for my birthday dinner. We ordered the large chicken botanas. As usual, they were FANTASTIC! Everything was fresh and their sauce is amazing too. Lots of chicken, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños in this delicious dish. This is my go to birthday destination! Great service and super nice team members⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had dinner here tonight and it was so much better than all of the other downriver Mexican restaurants, and is MUCH better than downtown Detroit. The restaurant is extremely clean and open, with a nice atmosphere. In addition, the wait staff is on point. Our server Bobbi was an excellent waitress and waited on us to perfection. She was on top of service with things like providing a box to go, providing extra napkins/refills, and even offering us a drink to go without asking.

Now, onto the food. My aunt and I tend to get Mexican food pretty often and have had almost all of the Mexican restaurants from Manuel's to Mexican Gardens and even to Los Galanes and Xochimilco, and we both agree the food here was the best. The salsa is actually salsa instead of some paste. The chips and deep fried items (my aunt got the Chimichanga dinner) were extremely tasty and not greasy at all. I had the Mexican Sandwich and it was phenomenal, with extremely generous portions.

Now I've had Angelina's in Allen Park and have been going there for years, but this location I feel delivered the better food and most bang for your buck. It has the best part of Angelina's, but also has improved it by quite a bit with fresh silverware and plates, much bigger location, and a fantastic wait staff. If you haven't checked this place out, what are you waiting for?

The rice and beans are addictive! Food is delicious and the servers are nice.

The rice is very good, and I am very partial to home made rice...so that is saying something. The staff are very friendly and they give you a sombrero for your birthday. Definitely a place I will visit again.

Angelina's is a very well-rounded place. I usually go to the Angelinas in Soutgate, even though there are 2 other locations in Wyandotte and Allen Park.

Their Mexican mixed drinks are quite good, including the Michelada and the their margaritas.

As for the food, just about anything on the menu is pretty good, including their tacos and steak ranchero. In fact, the last time I came in here was my first time trying the steak ranchero and it was excellent.

But even the small things make this place well worth the visit. For instance, the salsa that is served with the corn chips is very fresh and flavorful.

It is also very clean in here. You can tell that the staff has a routine of cleaning and maintenance.

Overall, this place is well worth the visit if you are looking for something a little bit more than just regular old Mexican food. Everything is fresh and flavorful, at least at this location.
