Ramsey's Coney Island

Classic diner experience, good atmosphere. Waiters and waitresses are kind and attentive. Got a regular coney, made deluxe with the fries and coleslaw. Slaw was on point, good flavor and tasted fresh. Fries were fine, nothing to write home about but great portion size. Coney was great, the chili is flavorfu land the Frankfurt was good. It's messy, but delicious. Paid 5.29 before tax, great deal as it's a whole meal for that much. Will be coming back!

This restaurant has a new owner. Being a long-time customer of this establishment, I was impressed by the change. ,The new owner has managed to continue making Amazing American Cuisine and Greek specialties. I discovered hand-made chicken strips and fresh cut potatoes, and they were delicious. The food is always fresh and tasty, the restaurant is warm and inviting the staff is friendly and efficient, cash and credit cards are accepted.Stop by and enjoy, this local favorite. 😀open till 3 pm daily closed on Tuesdays.

Food here is fast and delicious! We ordered philly cheese steak sub, ham and cheese sub, cheese burger and chicken wings. Everything is hot and tastes great! Eddie the owner greets everyone and is adorable! See you in a few days! Breakfast here is the best though!

Delicious breakfast, large portions and cooked fresh. Pancakes are huge, fluffy and made perfectly. Eggs are cooked exactly how you order and the ham used is Dearborn ham. The coneys are a perfect example of Detroit style coneys. This hole in the wall is a hidden gem and what you want out of a breakfast joint/ coney island .

Ramsey's Coney Island is a hidden gem on Dix Toledo. Their portions are enormous, and the quality of food is excellent. The ham slices for breakfast are hand carved and the pancakes are light and fluffy. If you are looking for an excellent Coney that is different from the rest, give Ramsey's a try. You and your family will not be disappointed.

Their history downriver is strong. I met the family at the original in Wyandotte on Biddle 30 plus years. The food,people, and the atmosphere is very good, and you will never find 2 coffee cups the same. I usually go there for breakfast for the Ramsay's special...

This place is a gem.
I understand the owner had to raise prices, but along with that you need to keep quality.
Some of the menu items are smaller in size, but the good taste is still there.
Clean Inside and out .
Staff is friendly and greets you by name.

Had a big party of 15 adults plus kids. Called a day before to let them know, and they had almost a whole nother room set up for us. Definitely our new go to meet up family Coney Island 💪

The food is wonderful. The service is wonderful. I have been eating here and driving by here for years. The down side is that the parking lot is always full. This is a great place, however sometimes I feel that some of the cars in the parking lot are just using a free space.

This was the first time we have visited Ramsey’s— the food was super yummy, and the service was excellent (despite being a little busy!) The waitresses, chefs, and owner are ALL friendly and take time to talk to everyone, ask about your day, etc. Our food was very flavorful and hot, with real ingredients, and everything was made with effort. this place is a gem. ☺

The staff is very nice and attentive and the food is just amazing, especially the breakfast special I have every time I go there because I can't resist it. Prices are great, too!

Very welcoming and homey atmosphere! Good food and excellent service! Came for lunch with my son. Will definitely come back to try breakfast! Only complaint is parking can be quite difficult!!

Much has been written about classic diners in the U.S., but Detroit has hybrid restaurants known as Coney Islands. Oddly enough, Coney Island hot dogs, a staple, are not what most people order. Ramsey's in Southgate is one of the better examples. The menu is extensive, and the prices are very reasonable. We walked in Saturday morning and stopped to greet friends. This is a popular gathering spot.

My favorite breakfast is the Greek omelet. Ramsey's did not disappoint with plenty of gyro meat, green peppers, onion, and feta cheese. Be sure to ask for tzatziki sauce. I don't recall what others in my party ordered beyond lots of bacon, but everyone seemed satisfied. Service could have been faster, if finding staff wasn't so difficult. When you finish that last cup of coffee with a full stomach, could you leave a generous tip? I recommend Ramsey's Coney Island.

This is a gem Downriver. Quality ingredients that are cooked properly. I don't leave 5 stars but this place rates it. Great coney's, excellent breakfasts, and delicious sandwiches. The service is always top-shelf. This is a must try restaurant.
