This place is a true Chinese 👍 restaurant 😋. The food was so darn good and delicious 😋. You can definitely tell that the food was made with homemade recipes from the home country. 🏡. Egg rolls were some of the best I have eaten ever. Fried rice was so delicious 😋 . Very happy that we came down here from Flint to try this place out. Not disappointed. Thank you for the great 👍 food and service guys 👦 and gals 👧.

Shangri-La did absolutely take my mouth and belly to paradise 🙏❤ definitely some of the best dim sum I have tasted to date 👍 The establishment was impeccably clean and all of the employees were very helpful and full of smiles!! They have an amazing menu filled with so many options and everything I tried was very flavorful and cooked with love 🥰 I will absolutely be back in the future!!

The food here is so authentic and superb! I usually celebrate the lunar new year in Chicago but the quality here is just the same. I had the Peking duck and dim sum and it was phenomenal! And the prices are great! Can't wait to come back!

After researching the best dim sum in Michigan, this location continuously came up. We took a trip on a Thursday night to investigate.
Personally, I never had dim sum before and had to Google it when my husband requested it for his birthday. Little appetizers that come with approximately 3 "bites" on a plate, ordered a la carte, is the best way I can explain it. Ordered 9 plates between 2 of us, on an old school order sheet with a pencil. So many options, many with pictures, it is really hard to order a reasonable amount for your party. 9 plates was probably too many as we had leftovers, but now we can come back and try the rest.
Service was superb, and almost all of our dishes were instant favorites. We absolutely will return.

Truly fantastic! Really enjoyed the dim sum and duck dish. Beautiful space. Excellent service. Will definitely return. Also a big plus that the restaurant is open in the middle of the day when a lot of other restaurants close for the break between lunch and dinner.

Our family have been going here for a few decades. This is the place to go for Dim Sum. My previous review had only 3 stars, because of the service and staff. However, the entire experience changed and we were very happy with everything.
Since the pandemic, they changed Dim Sum from the carts going around the restaurant to ordering Dim Sum like one does when ordering from a Sushi Restaurant.
By the way.... it is true for this or any other Chinese Restaurant... if Chinese people are eating there... the food is good!

Amazing menu of Dim Sum! Shangri-La will not disappoint. The atmosphere is great and the staff is so friendly. Tried the Chicken Feet, Shrimp Balls, Sticky Rice, Calamari, both Steamed and Baked Sweet Rolls with Pork and a few other items. There was a party in my tummy and I can't wait to return.

We had a great meal for the 2nd time in a row so I know it is not a fluke. The wait staff very attentive. The restaurant was packed and had a wait to be seated (Chinese New Year). We didn’t know the significance of the date just had a craving for Chinese.

Best egg foo yung I've had!! My friends almond chix was A+ as well. Highly recommend!

Food's awesome..mostly authentic Chinese foods such as taro, chicken feet, sauteed squid and dim sum are delicious. Service is excellent, our waiter was very witty and friendly..although the atmosphere doesn't scream fine dining or white tablecloth restaurant, you can give it points for trying.

Shangri-La in West Bloomfield is an earthly paradise. I love this place. Dim Sum, dine in or carry out, always on point. The food is outstanding, the service impeccable and the overall experience is always very satisfying. Start with super attentive staff, they take care of you. The Menu is gigantic. Of course the General Tso, Mongolian Beef, Shrimp in Lobster sauce are great…take some time to explore the menu. I like the special stir fry with jelly fish, squid and anchovies. And the Dim Sum is the best, a vast array of small plate delights. Cuttlefish is my favorite. This is the best Chinese restaurant in town, bar none. Chinese people eat here indeed, and all are welcome.

My favorite Cantonese style Chinese restaurant in Metro Detroit. Call it bias but I like this place. Me and my family and friends have been going there for last 15 years or longer.
They have very good Dim Sum and expect very long waiting during weekend. I am from Hong Kong and I can testify the authenticity of their Cantonese cuisine. It is very good. However, if you want American style Chinese food, they have that too.
Price has gone up a lot over the years but still worth it. They almost never close and so you can visit any day of the year, even Xmas and New Year. Give it a try.

I had a wonderful solo lunch and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. The stuffed eggplant and tripe were a real treat!!! Cant wait to come back to try more!!!

I first had dim sum in Canada snd was glad to find out we have a few local places that do it. Shangri la is a long time restaurant where you can tell they have both people who've come for years and newer converts. They no longer post covid have the trolleys to roll by and tempt and confuse you but a menu. Sizes are a bit smaller I think but the food is still good, service 👌and popular as always

This is the best quality, most authentic, and most delicious Chinese food in Michigan. Period.
I love Chinese food–soup dumplings, char siu bao, basically every kind of bao bun, etc. I also admittedly love American-style Chinese food staples like sesame chicken. I've eaten at all of the famous classic Chinese restaurants, both upscale and modest, throughout NYC, SF, LA and Chicago. All of that is to say that I know good Chinese food when I have it. This is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in the state of Michigan. I love their bao buns and soup dumplings (which rival those of Dumpling Time in SF), and their sesame chicken (which is equally good if not better than that served by Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown in NYC). If you want legit Chinese food, and are in the Detroit suburbs, this is the only place you should order from. If they are closed that day, don't get Chinese food that day and wait until they have re-opened to get your bao bun fix. It is that good. I really only write reviews when I am so inspired by an establishment's excellent (or abysmal) quality. This is the best Chinese food in Michigan and you must try it if you like Chinese food and either live here or are visiting family here.

The dim sum here at Shangri-La is outstanding, although not inexpensive. The dim sum carts arrive at a good pace with very good variety. All the dishes are delicious, only wish they had the preserved duck egg congee. Already looking forward to our next visit for a birthday celebration!

I went there with family and friends for my little sister's birthday. She turned 23 and we were there early than most of the group which gave us time to figure out what we could order and set up for her birthday. Some of the staff at first seemed irritated by us being there which I think happened because my mother was super late waiting on another person she invited that my sister didn't really want there and caused the ordering and such to be really late. The food was delicious and my sister got to try some new dishes which some she liked. Overall she had a good birthday dinner here and the atmosphere was nice. Food was delicious, staff was helpful, and restaurant was nice and clean.
