The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center

I was at your store on Wednesday for the very first time. Not only did I find a cart full of beautiful items that were fairly priced but the people working were so nice! There was a gentleman there on his first day on the floor and he made sure I got the help I needed even when he didn’t know the answer to my question. He was learning to do displays and was doing a fantastic job. There was also a very sweet lady with brightly colored hair that was super friendly. It was refreshing to find a store that was clean and organized with good merchandise and an even better staff!

So for the most part the prices in this store seem a bit high but the reason I am giving it 5 stars is because for one, they did a great job fitting a thrift store into a thriving downtown royal oak complete with hipsters and young professionals that other than buying overpriced cocktails don't know how to spend their money. The other main reason is that I was successful in buying a $500 pair of size 13 Brooks Brothers Dress Shoes for only $30. Maybe people are buying this stuff and the owners are genious for pricing it the way they do. We will see.

Excellent place. A great option to buy great stuff with friendly and helpful staff. Totally recommended.

Boutique shopping experience with thrift store prices! They only carry name brand items. The store is always clean and smells good! The clothes are sorted by size, which makes it so much easier to shop as opposed to a normal salvation army. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars, they don't carry kids clothes. I really wished they did!

I have been going to this store for years right in beautiful Downtown Royal Oak. A great place to browse for some wonderful treasure at a great price. Clean store, nice selection of items and nice staff. Just there last week killing time while getting my car fixed and found a beautiful Izod sweater with tags still on along with a cashmere sweater all for $14. They can be pricey on some clothes but shop the special discount days or weekly tag color to maximize savings. While you are at it, drop off donations in their back alley then go in to shop around.

There were so many cute items here! Too many to get so I’ll have to come back. The people working there were super friendly. The items were slightly more expensive on the tickets- but I didn’t mind because they all look brand new and were gorgeous. And then they turned out to all be on sale!

They told me that every Friday they have a sale where one ticket color you can get 5 items for $5. And on Memorial Day everything in the store is half off.

Even though the clothes were great, I appreciate most how kind the staff was to everyone.

One of the nicest Salvation Army stores in all of metro Detroit. Most clothing, is practically brand new, or well cared for, second hand.

I have bought some real special items for myself here. I am a senior, so I stop in on most Wednesdays and take advantage of the senior discount.

Very Nice Thrift Store with good quality items. I got the perfect slip on Sketchers hiker shoe I've been looking everywhere for.

More commonly called The Sally in Royal Oak, you will find much higher end thrift store shopping here. That being said you can also look for a little higher price tags as well. The one thing that is really a huge bummer about this store is they display the greatest stuff in the window that has long been spoken for by every day customers( people who work in the city or walk in town) or by employees. Knowing that I have stopped asking for anything in the windows years ago! Save your breath people! Find something inside😉

Great selection, great people serving you. However, its a boutique, not a standard thrift shop or "dollar store." Items and clothing are priced to sell but the merchandise is good quality, vintage stuff. Plan to spend some time when you go, its worth it.

I dropped off an old dresser as a donation here recently and their setup for doing so is great. Donations are accepted in the alley on the west side of the building (north bound only, enter from 5th street). They have a team of young men to unload whatever you have. This was on a Saturday when I assume donations are frequent. The young man who unloaded me was very polite, offered me a receipt for my donation and took care of everything. Will definitely donate here again.

This is the best Salvation Army I have EVER been to and I go to all the locations. I am so amazed! The store looks like an Upscale Boutique. I found so excellent treasures. This store is a must see.

Found a tan Calvin Klein alpaca coat. $28. 😍 I was feeling a little down that day, and some retail therapy here...cleared it right up. The staff helps and don't follow you around the store.

This is by far the best Salvation Army I have ever been! Anthony and Sarah are very helpful! The cleanliness of the store is outstanding, it looks and feels like a little boutique! I highly recommend this Salvation Army.

I dont how they get these amazing clothes but I keep coming back. AND it never fails to surprise me Thank you Sallys.

Great Salvation Army! Always find great deals and the store is always clean/tidy! (: smaller Salvation Army then other locations, but don’t let the size of the store fool you! Defiantly recommend going here!

Great place to go for upscale used items. There prices are slightly higher due to it being downtown and better or higher quality selections. Also be prepared to pay at least 1.20 for parking.
