I went there and there was over 50 unplaced Headstones dating from all dates known since this place was establish. Horrible to see all them stones up by the garage and around the receiving area and the shed. Something should be done about this place very soon.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Family owned and operated. One of the owners drove right to the site I wanted to see.

Older cemetery but well kept up.

I was just out to Ferndale. Thursday before MEMORIAL DAY. IT IS A DISGRACE. My husband , who is a retired NAVY VETERAN's marker wasn't even visible because of dried grass cuttings and weeds. My Grandparents markers which are standing had dried grass cuttings all over them to where you couldn't even read them. There are three foot weeds growing around marker stones. It's hard enough to go there but to see it like this breaks my heart even more. I cleared a few more markers but just couldn't do all that needed to be cleared. Shame ON YOU WHO OWN THIS. YOU SHOULD REFUND OUR MONEY FOR THESE GRAVES. There is NO EXCUSE. This is the worst I have seen it. Just talked to office and they promised it would look nice by Monday. I am sorry you say you can't afford to take proper care of this 110 year old cemetery, but that is not a good excuse.

It is sad the way they treat the resting place of loved ones. If I could give a negative 10 I would. The people who run this are liars and thieves. My family is completely under water. This being Veterans and others.

This is the worst cemetery I have ever been to. My aunt was recently buried here. When we went to the cemetery with the family, the roads were so bad we could barely get around on them. There were dead wreaths from Christmas full to the top in the dumpster and maybe 100 scattered on the ground around it. The chapel's paint was peeling and the door was rusted. Inside the chapel, the windows are filthy, there was dirt on the ground, a mirror on the wall was black and they didn't even turn the heat on for us. We froze as we stood there to say our last goodbyes to her. Upon leaving the chapel, we noticed that the grave digger was standing off to the side wearing golashes and staring like a creep, waiting for us to leave. We returned to the cemetery the next day to even see if she had been buried. She was, but things get worse. The roads were flooded, grave markers are sinking into the ground. Some you couldn't even read. They drove a large tractor over other people's graves to get her back to her plot. This caused the markers to sink deeper into the soil. My aunt was buried sideways. The way the headstones are laid out around her, it looks like they are burying coffins on top of each other. Two grave stones were disturbed in the digging and they weren't put back right. The worst thing of all is that the air stank of dead bodies. Last year the cemetery was severely flooded. I believe coffins opened during the flooding and that is where the smell is coming from. Please, if you love your family memeber, don't bury them here. You might ask why my aunt was buried here..well, I wasn't in charge of the decision and she requested she be buried here so she could be with her brothers and parents. I'm working to change my grandma's mind about going here. She already owns two plots.

Very sad place to walk, you get greated by a dog that does not like men. A home made dog kennel was built in the corner of the small office. A lot of standing water. I would be upset if I had a family member here

wondering if they moved my grandparents. no record of my grandfather being here but was definitely buried here in 1950- my grandmother has a record of being here buried in 1958 but no location given as to the burial site she is buried in this cemetery. I can't remember the exact location/site of where they would be due to no headstones for them and being I was very young when we used to bring flowers every Easter to this Ferndale Cemetery - But now I'm questioning if their caskets are even still buried here.

Doesn't deserve 1 star. Grave stones sunken and falling over. Stones stacked on top of one another by the front office and the back garage. Standing water among the stones. We couldn't get to the graves. So much water we could hear the frogs! It's a disgrace. I'll be back.

Years ago I visited the this Hell Hole cemetery to pay respects to my mother who died in 1957. Her grave had sunk down so far that nothing was really visable of what was left of the grave because icy water had formed a skim of ice over it. I had walked in icy soft mud because there were NO pathways. Since there is a small tributary of the Detroit River that runs through the grounds, The seeping water has done so much damage to our loved ones, so I would imagine there is nothing left except rubble. I was told this by a grave digger who I found slogging through the place with a shovel over his shoulder. This info was verified by some city records of when the cemetery was formed back in its infancy. The buyer's of the cemetery either were not aware of this fact of the seeping water, knew it and did not care. If I had the $$$ I would have her dug up and put where my father is buried, at Redford Pioneer Cemetery on Telegraph rd. Don't put your kin at Riverview, is my advice to you. And make sure you read the other woman's comments re: this Ghoulish Hell Hole, because they are not resting in peace forever more, September 2013. EN.

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN!!!!

I really don't want to give this even one star. It is poorly maintained and the tracks for cars are so narrow that you are nearly forced to block the track off to stop. We buried a wonderful woman today and the staff were there, but far from helpful. They blocked off the track to give us privacy, but also turned away members of our own party because it seemed too much for them to attend to the blockade. When confronted with this, they became argumentative and lied about what had happened.

This is the poorest excuse for a cemetery I have ever seen. Looks as if the grass hasn't been cut all year and the roads in and out are terrible. So disrespectful to the deceased . Personally I would not put a loved one there or recommend it to anyone.

This place needs work. Flooding and roads are awful. Just terrible to try to find graves. If I could move all my family out to a better maintained cemetery I would.

I wish I didn’t have to leave a star at all this place is a hell hole I wish I was able to move my sister to a better place I always have a hell of a time trying to find her grave because it’s so overgrown and sunken in.... I really wish I could post a picture of how bad it looks on here but it won’t let me..

Headstones that are crooked from a lack of maintenance.
Too much standing water.
Too much disrepair, including the lawn cover.

Buried my mother there this winter and was disappointed in the flooding, up ended stones and the chapel (small space heater and ply wood floors.
