I’ve been having Nancy do my taxes for three years now, 2022 being the fourth. The staff there is very helpful, promptly responding to the few instances I’ve had questions and when I submitted additional statements a bit later. Other than when I’ve had question, the process is easy and hands off, the service I expect when I’m paying for someone to do my taxes.

I live out of state, but work in the cities. When I first came to Shoemaker CPA everyone was very friendly and courteous. The person at the front desk helped me with checking in and offered me coffee while I waited. The assistant politely introduced herself and talked me through the process of how she was filing my paperwork. She was also able to answer any questions I had. Another assistant also came in to walk me through how to use the portal for if I had any other paperwork I had to submit that I did not currently have with me. I also had my nephew with me and Nancy was a big help in the finalization of my paperwork and keeping my nephew smiling in the process. I highly recommend Shoemaker CPA to anyone who needs help with their taxes.

A friend of mine referred me to Nancy Shoemake, CPA, in 2012. At the time, I was a independant contractor, with all kinds of expenses and deductions. I had previously filed quarterly taxes. Because Nancy is so experienced and knowledgable about various deductions, she was able to get a huge refund for me, that was applied to the following years tax bill. In the next 5 years, (while I was still working) I never had to file quarterly taxes, or have to pay in additional funds. Now that I am retired, I don't have the deductions, but Nancy is very thorough. This year, when I was in, she asked if I had received my property tax refund from last year. I said, I don't remember. She went to the Dakota County website, and found that I hadn't received it yet. She filed for my refund, and even though I didn't get an income tax refund this year (because of the new tax laws) about a week later I receive a check in the mail for my property tax refund. The staff is very professional, and answered all my questions and provided both hard copies and PDF files of my taxes. I'm very happy with the service I received. I highly recommend this office if you are looking for a top notch CPA. They give me the confidense to know my taxes have been done correctly!
