Great Embankment

The great embankment Park, is part of the erie canal heritage Trail. Complete it in 1822, and it’s 1 mile long, 70 feet high across. This is a clean park it has soccer fields and playgrounds for the kids.

Along the Erie Canal. For a short walk start here an go to Bushnell basin and back. about 2 miles. The embankment allowed the canal to span a valley without needing to build locks. Today the park has a number of sport fields. The canal is the focus for many people. It a easy access point for those that wish to walk, run or bike the Erie Canal trail. There is a dock for fishing and one for launching kayaks and canoes.

Located right next to the canal trail. Great place to begin your bicycle rides,jogging and leisure walks. Ideal and scenic for all the above and more.

Awesome playground, many many soccer fields, good bathrooms, right on the canal and canal towpath hiking trail, and my favorite thing is in the South East corner of the park, right on the canal trail, is the kindness tree. there are flat rocks with empowering and inspiring messages that people can take. And other people like me create rocks and place them there. It's really cool!

The park is a 'hidden' beauty in Pittsford - spacious and natural, while also having soccer fields, playgrounds, and convenient access to the Erie Canal path. Enjoy.

Perfect little park that saved my ride home with my toddler.

Park is a good size and a decent amount of things to do, I love the trail along the canal. People are respectful whether your walking or riding and the trail is well kept and clean.

Very well maintained parking lots, fields and kid play gyms. Trail along the canal is flat and also well maintained. The fine gravel is soft enough to absorb impact of running. Dog friendly too!

One of the best park in the area to enjoy some shade and quiet near the canal. Lot of space for dogs too, and slides for the kids.

This park is located right off the canal and is an extremely nice. The playground is one of the bigger nicer ones around. Forever going out we always end up going here.

We come here for the playground! It has toddler and kid swings and slides and it's not crowded in the mornings. You can see the canal path from the playground and there's bathrooms at the parking lot 👍🏻

A really nice park for walks, bike rides, and sports. Some hills but not too many, and plenty of open space for dogs as well as soccer fields.

Nice park. Restroom facilities are nice as well. Soccer fields are well kept and there are some. Ice paths to walk to the canal.

I totally love this area. When I lived in Rochester I spent lots of time here walking my dogs. In fact my Leah dog celebrated one of her birthdays up here with her niece dog.

Favorite rest place when I walk by the canal. Parking fits about 10-15 cars and there is an open field for sports or to let your dog run around.
