I have a pretty exacting standard for haircuts and have been going here for years, even after moving from Rochester to Geneva. This shop has a an atmosphere of class and neighborly approachability that can only be found in the best barbershops. I’ve gotten the best haircuts of my life from Alex and Chris, though I know each barber meets a high bar of skill.

Great Barbershop. Everyone takes their time to make sure clients get an A+ cut. Jeff is my barber. He always knows exactly how I want my hair cut and is a great conversationalist. My friends use other barbers their and won't go anywhere else. I would recommend booking and paying via the online. Makes it super easy to just add to calendar, show up, and get your cut.

Kyle has built something great right here in Fairport. The newly remodeled (March '21) shop has brought that feeling of the basement barbershop to a modern, convenient location. And with Chris managing the day to day, visiting is truly a pleasure. Whether you're coming in for a quick edge up, to sit with your kiddo while they get a cut, or you need some expert beard & mustache care & advice, this local shop is the place to book.

Let me start by saying that I have been going to Ampell Barber Shop for about a year now and I only have good things to share. Owen is my go to guy, he has a customer for life. He has great technique and always leaves me extremely satisfied. prior to going to Owen for my cuts I bounced all over the place across almost all of Rochester for haircuts and I can confidently say that there isn't a better barber/ store to visit. the shop is clean and has a great atmosphere. A small detail is that all of the barbers have matching heavy duty tool boxes for all of their supplies and tools. Again its a small detail but it is super cool and adds to the overall Ampell Experience. Words cant explain what a great job Owen and the Ampell team does on a consistent basis.

If you’re in the same boat I was, nervous to look for a new barber, look no further. Ampell is clean, professional, kind, and gives an amazing cut. I had to pleasure of Jeff cutting my hair, and he gave me one of the cleanest fades and scissor cuts I’ve ever had. Couldn’t talk more highly of Jeff and the crew over there, and I’ll be going to him from now on as long as I’m local!

It's been about a year and change that. I've been getting my haircut at ampel Barber shop. I always go with Matt, so that way my conversation from last visit pics right back up. I've never had a bad haircut with any of the barbers, and I always leave with a smile.

Amazing barbershop! Remodeled and clean. Alex is phenomenal and really knows how to fade and cut how I like it. Warm neck shave at the end. Amazing all around - not to mention he was right on time for my appointment. Time and detail spent on every little hair, not a rush job like other places. I'll be going to Alex for as long as he is cutting hair.

My son saw Owen today to take advantage of the special Ampell had for kids’ cuts this summer. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Owen did a great job not only with the haircut but engaging with my son, which isn’t always easy with a young child. His attention to detail and checking in with me regarding my preferences was truly appreciated. The shop itself was clean and professional. They have a section on their website around their policy for children’s cuts, which was helpful in ensuring they would be a good fit for our son. The online booking with Apple Pay was a breeze. They are also supporters of Fairport Little League! In conclusion, a great shop!

Kyle and Chris are not only extremely personable, but very professional and do a great job at understanding what their customers want in a haircut. They're always very flexible and communicate if they need to change your appointment for any reason. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to elevate your experience from the chain barbers around town.
