Hot Dog Charlie's Cohoes

I use to live across the street. Now I'm an hour away. I never leave town without stopping there and bringing hotdogs with the works home! I also bring a cooler to keep them hot on the trip back! I use to also get char broiled cheeseburgers smothered in fried onions! BEST IN TOWN OR ANYWHERE!!

Having not sampled a classic mini hot dog from the area before, I was excited to try this local treat! And I wasn't disappointed. A mini hot dog with mustard, onions and meat sauce... delicious, even if it was a little bit greasy. It was definitely fast-food vibe so not a place you'd go and sit down for a fun dinner, but a great quick snack or take away.

Hot Dog Charlie's is a Capiral Region classic. We always buy a jar or two of sauce to take home. Staff is super friendly too!

I grab 12 wthe works for my parents am sI almost every Thursday and Saturday for work peers it's horrible it burned yesterday we wish them peace of mind and thank ful. No employees were hurt

This was our first time eating here and the burgers were absolutely delicious. My wife loved her vanilla shake & the staff nice and friendly. Will definitely eat here again.

The only place I can get these mini hotdogs and seasoned cheddar curly fries is upstate NY. One of my favorite quick bites 🙂

On January 31st, the place burned down. They're at least temporarily closed. I assume they will rebuild.

I've been going there for most of my adult life and I'm old. Best mini dogs around this area and beyond.

Literally the best hotdogs I've had in New York and trust me oh I know hawtdawgs. I've been everywhere in NY even the Bronx and Time Square. Not even queens had anything on the hot dogs here.

I'm definitely biased but this has been a childhood staple since being raised in the area. Minis with the works regardless of my mood is like that dude from Ratatouille. 10/10 I'd eat again. Ofc not for everyone but goddamm if it isn't one of my all time faves.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Prices are reasonable, I'm not a big hot dog fan but if I crave one I come here. The mini dogs are great but I always order more than I can eat lol.

This place has been the same since my childhood. Mini dogs for the win. Get the works.

Their hot dogs are always good like every time I go there I've never bad they're always good I would eat there I still eat there I'll go there again tomorrow I don't care good restaurant

Love, love, love this place. So freaking good. The meat sauce is made fresh. Only downside is the bathrooms are located outside the restaurant but whatever, it's still good! Go get yourself a few minis with the works, an order of onion rings, and a shake. You'll be glad you did!

My father would bring my brother and I here when we were kids and we loved it. So my opinion might be a bit colored by nostalgia.
Recently went after not having been in almost a decade.
It was as good as I remember. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Got the mini dogs and some cheese fries. Nothing fancy and completely satisfying.
It is what it has always been, a great place to grab some delicious, filling food.
It is well-worn but clean and tidy.
