Donnie Magoo's Restaurant

I had a very nice time at Donnie Magoo’s this past weekend. Our waiter/bartender Jack was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good drink recommendations. I would suggest getting the California Burger and utilizing the back patio seating when it’s nice out.

The food is always amazing, and no matter if it's the bartender or the server on that night no matter who's taking care of you both of them are amazing! Last time we stuck around for Matty D's karaoke and had a blasty blast. With prices going up on everything nowadays it's hard to really find the reason to or a place to go to, so if you can fit in your budget definitely check out Donnie Magoo's! Try seafood fondue!!!

Came here for the first time to meet friends and grab a quick dinner before seeing Jimmy Dore at the Cohoes Music Hall. The food was amazing, and they did a great job of accommodating our group. I've been back a few times since, and my experience has remained the same. I definitely would recommend this establishment. Their food is fresh, well prepared, and the Reubens are to die for, as are the fish and chips! (Potato chips and French fries are made in-house)

I didn't catch the name of the bartender who helped us with ordering our food but he was super nice and friendly. He also checked in on us to see if we needed anything a few times but wasn't overbearing. I'm not used to any additional service after receiving food in that kind of smaller venue with limited staff. The service was excellent and the burger was DELICIOUS. Thank goodness they didn't skimp on the napkins because it was a bit messy but worth it. I had the bacon cheddar burger and my husband had a spicy chicken situation ( he can't remember the name) that was really good as well. Live music, great service and food was so needed on this cold mid-week night.

A group of us had dinner here before a show at The Cohoes Music Hall. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Several of us had the salad, others a variety of other options. Everyone loved the fries. Parking was adequate (one of us was handicapped) and it was a short walk to the hall. I'll dine here again.

Friendly bartender made me feel like I was a long term patron. The menu had quite a good selection. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado mayo. Delicious! My sandwich came out in a very timely manner. Loved the seasoned chips, too.

Second time at this location and the food is 10/10. I know, crazy but I mean it! Good music and accommodating! Our bartender Matt was superb and very helpful! I highly recommend if you’re going off the beating path.

Cool vibe here. We usually head down here after Rock the Block in Cohoes.... wish they served food later on those nights!! Nice little patio area out back and they frequently have live music!

Stayed open late. Very accommodating. Made it a great place to hang on a Saturday night after a show at the Cohoes Music Hall. The drinks were great. The bartender was cool. The patrons were friendly. Not my first time there definitely won't be my last.

Amazing staff, awesome service, fun all around! The steak and potatoes are so good you don't even need (in my opinion) seasoning!

Two very nice small town bar with good food and very friendly people. I'm glad I got a chance to stop in.

I absolutely hate karaoke but Matty D's Friday night is now a favorite stop!

Love this place. I rate all restaurants basically on their burgers...this was the best. Great beer selection but not over whelming. The homemade chips are amazing and the desserts are incredible! I heard others say price is high, I couldn't disagree more. For the quality of food and drinks it's spot on, maybe even a bargain. Definitely recommend!!

Had to place a very large order 15 minutes before they closed. They were amazing and accommodating. While I did not eat anything it looked and smelled great. Cudos to the two young bartenders who were courteous and hospitable while I waited. Definitely passed closing time. Coming back myself. Plus the music was great. Wonderful ambiance!

Offered beer samples and recommendations. Burgers were cooked as requested. Chips served with burgers were crispy and plentiful. Great atmosphere, Definitely worth the stop.

We went for eating in the streets, besides fries we were mainly there to drink. The had a nice basic beer menu with a few drinks on tap. Their liquor drinks is where they used their creativity.

Great place all around. Atmosphere is relaxing and inviting, burgers are juicy and filling, steaks flavorful, and everything else will satisfy your stomach, and wash it all down with amazing drinks.

Food was outstanding. Our host/server/bartender was very friendly and attentive.

Went here on my birthday back in May, the food was delicious, but the beer menu was kinda lame... I recently went back and was happy too see they have more beer options, including local IPAs!!

First time going, definitely not the last! Service was great, portions very generous, and a great drink selection! Don't let the rough around the edges abiance worry you, this place is worth a try!
