What a great dining experience! The decor, atmosphere and music were on point and the waitstaff were very pleasant, attentive and helpful. We started off with some oysters, which were really great (my first time trying them!), and we ordered the cauliflower steak with coconut risotto & the fried chicken sandwich for our entrees. The chicken sandwich was tender and not too heavily breaded, and the rosemary parm fries were delicious! The cauliflower steak was a unique entree and really tasty; for me, the coconut risotto was the highlight of the dish. The prices seemed comparable to similar fare in the area, if not slightly less. We will definitely be back!

Blown away! Plumb Oyster Bar is high quality, well thought out, dining at it's best.

After looking at the menu choices for Troy Restaurant Week, we decided to check out one of the few places that wasn't a pub. And boy did we luck out! The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was hip but mature, and the food was beyond fantastic. Possibly one of the best meals we've had since Malcolm's in Schenectady.

Started with the Stiff Upper Lip cocktail which had delicious, autumn, flavors muddled with orange in a rye. It was really good and reminded me of an spicy orange Manhattan.

To my delight, the menu was varied and eclectic, with options for every dietary preference. The mushroom risotto was calling my name. But I stayed strong, and put my bid down on the prefix menu as originally planned. I was not disappointed in the least.

First course was the Beet Salad with shishito peppers, chicory, marcona almonds, and goat cheese. Perfectly seasoned, it had little course salt flakes that occasionally popped up like a pleasant surprise. The beets were delicious and were perfectly coupled with the goat cheese and mild peppers. It was a very well thought out first course that kept surprising me with excellent flavor combinations. In fact, it was so good that I found myself scraping the remaining bits of goat cheese with my finger, so I wouldn't have to lick the stone plate and embarrass myself.

The main course was feta stuffed chicken over a mushroom cipollini fregola (similar to couscous), with a sweet pepper jam. It was a beautifully prepared dish and the fregola had a lightly sweet dressing. When I was about halfway done with the dish, I was so happy that I wanted to make another reservation then and there. Again, I almost licked the plate like an animal. But thankfully resisted.

Finally for dessert, I had the Grapefruit Panna Cotta. Light and delicious, It was the perfect end to an amazing meal. Everyone at my table was very impressed and we'll be talking about Plumb Oyster Bar for weeks to come.

The bartenders were very professional and friendly. The drinks were amazing. Looking forward to going back to try the food. This is not a place to go if your looking for a cheaper place to eat, however they have good happy hour drink specials.

This was by the far the best experience my wife and I have had in a very long time....By chance we spent the evenings with the owners and their very exceptional and inventive bartender, Colin (photo-right)... Although all (3) were extremely talented. They gave my wife and their full attention and spent most of the evenings coming up with custom out of this world cocktails...
They would spend a minimum of 5-7 minutes putting each drink together.....and also used ingredients that you would'nt typically see in venues in the capital region such as egg white whip which created such a velvety finish to the cocktail.....
Oh and the food- out of this world.....the oysters, east and west coast very, very well done!!
Cant say enough about this place! looking forward to going back!

Was here last night for a few drinks and a bite. The bartender and also barback? were both super chill and great to chat with. Their cocktails were absolutely fantastic, the man even knew how to make the obscure cocktail (+ had the ingredients!) my partner had been dying to try. Food was excellent, we had the pressed chicken sandwich and lobster corn pot pie w/little neck clams. The chicken sandwich in particular with candied garlic and jalapenos was super tasty!

They also have a beautiful, adorable dog who came out and entertained all of us at the bar with her sweetness.

Can't wait to come back and try some seafood!

This was an excellent experience. We came in early while the place was still very empty, but the staff was extremely courteous, helpful with selections, and friendly. The bar was excellent and made a great martini. While I don't like oysters I was able to enjoy the Alaskan char off the menu and it was absolutely superb. We also had the risotto and found it to have a lot of interesting texture and flavor that was really great. It was a very nice dinner that felt much fancier than the prices would have suggested. I'll happily go back any time.

Great little spot with a variety of fresh oysters. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. If you go for brunch make sure to try the smashed potato things. Amazing. Mixed drinks are delicious and they have a decent beer selection.

My wife and I came here on a whim and we are SO glad that we did. The drinks were on point (recommend the Thirst Trap) and the escargot was to die for. The wait staff was friendly and very understanding. We had the seared duck breast and the mushroom risotto, which were both perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. We would highly recommend the Plumb Oyster Bar to anyone looking for an amazing dinner with a quiet ambience.

Our first visit was on a very packed Troy Stroll afternoon, so we were not expecting anything anywhere near as wonderful an experience as we had. We sat at the bar and had great service, wonderful drinks and very delicious food. Can't wait to return and try some more drinks and items off the menu!! It is the BEST downtown has to offer! (Just one wish...would love to see fried oysters added to the menu.)

An amazing experience in all aspects.

The majority of the seating is stools at the oyster bar, the regular bar, or a few high tops on the side. There are two tables in the back with traditional chairs with backs.

The menu is small and well curated, not to mention fairly priced. The oyster menu describes the available oysters in a descriptive and accurate way. The menu makes ordering oysters easy, even for beginners. The cocktails are delicious and interesting.

We sat at the regular bar and were entertained by Collin all night. He, like all the staff, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We had the steak frites and the plumb burger. Both were cooked to temperature exactly as we had asked. The burger, made of short ribs, was juicy and flavorful. The burger was clearly elevated by the onion jelly. The steak was brilliant, close to the best steak frites we have ever had. An excellent place.

This is a great addition to downtown Troy with the addition of the oysters. The second bar makes excellent cocktails which creates a fun atmosphere for a stop at night.

I’ve had a few items off their menu and really like the brunch which is a nice stop especially in the summer during the farmers market.

My fiancé and I dined at Plumb Oyster Bar for the first time last night and the experience was divine! We thoroughly enjoy Troy from the local perspective. I wish we had visited this establishment sooner! Walking in, the atmosphere is exactly my cup of tea. My fiancé immediately pointed out the cozy couch next to the hostess station which gave such an inviting vibe. The cream walls, light wood accents, rustic light fixtures and beautiful dried varieties of foliage displayed on the walls and tables really made my inner industrial-chic artist voice sing. Now, the food and drinks... The dollar oysters were delicious and so fresh. I opted for two of their creative cocktails, one with oysters and one with dinner. Both utterly amazing and both whiskey based. The dinner options all sounded equally intriguing making our decisions more difficult. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, as well as the gentleman behind the oyster bar. Overall, the drinks and food items are on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for and it is definitely worth it. We will be back!

I had their PEI mussels just before Christmas, and they were amazing. Delicious and perfectly cooked--not even one unopened mussel out of 30 or so. Even the bread they served it with was great. And the service was surprisingly fast, considering it was a busy Friday night. Would absolutely recommend.

I'm a fan, I've been there countless times I've never had a bad meal. I have even ordered food outside of my pallet (veggie burgers) and still enjoyed it. I usually get the Brussels sprouts because they are an amazing and unique appetizer they have.

The minute you walk in the door - Perfect lighting - Classy, but somehow laid back - It just feels right.
Sit down - knowledgeable staff who genuinely care about your experience
Food - Chef knows what he is doing, and you never know when you'll be surprised with a new dish.
Drink - Craft beer - Wine list that will make everyone happy - Cocktails that are out of this world.

Without a doubt the best restaurant in Troy, if not in the Capital Region. I've lived in the area my entire life, born and raised in a family of cooks and restaurant owners, and I can't speak highly enough of my experience at Plumb. The staff was wonderful, the ambiance is amazing, the food variety is perfect, and the cost is incredibly appropriate. The oyster selection was delicious and well prepared and presented, and the small plates were fantastic. The chicken sandwich was one of the best I've ever had (and that's saying a lot about something as simple as a chicken sandwich). The Soba Noodles were also delicious. The fact you can get oysters, soba, and a chicken sandwich at the same place is awesome enough but the fact that those are also so well prepared is truly remarkable. I'd highly recommend dipping the french fries in the sauce from the noodles (don't ask, just do)!

Overall one of the most memorable and enjoyable dining experiences of my life.

Thank you to the staff and ownership!
