The W Salon

I visited this Salon for the first time yesterday. Previously, I have just done at home box color to cover my grays. I would typically do a dark brown which would tend to "wash me out" and make me look pale until it faded some, even though medium to dark brown is my natural hair color. Because of this, I chose a golden brown color the last time and it did not cover my grays at all. To avoid damaging my hair, I decided to visit a salon for a professional color fix and came across "The W Salon" which had great reviews. My appointment was with Jen and I cannot say enough good things. From the initial consulation to the actual appointment, Jen listened to exactly what I wanted, was realistic with me about the process, and understood my curly hair, which is ultra important! I love the results of my initial visit & I am looking forward to the follow up appointment 🙂🙂

Emma is the best! I've been having her cut my hair for 20+yrs 😅she's efficient and also consistent and does my hair on point every time. The place is clean and nicely decorated. There's a waiting area and you can hang up your coats and Emma always offers me something to drink while I'm there. Every hair dresser is independent here so you can schedule directly with your person 🙂

The W Salon is amazing! It is very beautifully decorated and the woman that work there are all super professional and great at what they do. The owner, Whitney, is a master Mixer when it comes to color! She is very knowledgeable about all things hair and definitely the woman to go to for cut, color, style and product advice. The atmosphere in the salon is cool and calming. I always look forward to my appointments with Whitney because I know I will be able to relax, have good conversation and I always leave with amazing looking hair! Everyone should check out this salon!

Whitney is the absolute BEST! I was greeted so warmly at her new salon. Its such a nice atmosphere and she takes such good care of her clients! As usual she transformed my hair, exactly the way I wanted and I love it! I would definitely recommend the salon, and her of course to anyone looking for a stylist!

I'm so in love with my Stylist that I travel from NYC to see Kat and get my hair done. The W Salon is in a convenient location with private parking. Not only is my Stylist Kat welcoming each and every time I'm there but the owner, Whitney also makes it a point to say hello and goodbye to clients that come to the Salon.

Kat is always going to give the best advice and make you feel comfortable with what each step of the appointment is going to be. The conversation is endless and my time at The W Salon is something I always look forward to!

Purchasing product is also easy and convenient at The W Salon. All of the Stylists are knowledgeable of the product they represent.

This business is more than a hair Salon simply because of the Stylist who work there and the service they provide. I highly recommend the W Salon to anyone in the 518 and even those in NYC!

I’ve been seeing Whitney as my stylist for four years now - there’s no one else that I would trust with my hair! Whitney has always been honest and patient while working with me. She truly cares about her clients’ happiness with the final result and will always offer an honest opinion before just going with an ‘inspo’ photo. The W Salon has the most beautiful aesthetic and all of their staff are friendly. Their staff has adjusted well to navigate the pandemic and has strong safety measures in place. There’s no salon I’d trust more (during this strange pandemic time or otherwise)!

The W Salon is wonderful. A beautiful space I enjoy visiting once a month. Completely professional stylists following all safety protocols during these strange times. Kathleen has been doing my hair for 10 years and has an amazing way of balancing your desired look with keeping the health of your hair in focus. When I moved away I’ve continued to travel the 2-1/2 hours for Kathleen to keep my color on point and greys covered, sprinkled with a Brazilian blowout every so often. I highly recommend.

The W salon is a perfect escape to getting your hair done. I have been going to Whitney the owner for almost 10 years now and I live over an hour away. Wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair. She’s a true expert and has become a valued friend. She even drove to my house to do my hair 1 week before my wedding just so I would have perfect hair. The salon is top notch!

I have been going to Kat for almost 10 years now across multiple salons and W Salon is my favorite location- convenient parking, friendly atmosphere, and just a really beautiful space. Especially during these uncertain times it is clear that the safety and health of their customers and staff are of the utmost importance and I felt very comfortable during my haircut.

Kat is amazing and I've recommended her to all of my family friends- I tend to not have strong ideas and she can always take my vague requests and turn them into an amazing hairstyle that not only looks great at the start but last. She introduced me to balyage and even though I have really thick hair she always takes her time to make sure it comes out perfectly. I can't recommend Kat and the W Salon enough!

My daughter has crazy curly hair. She’s diagnosed with high-functioning Autism which makes maintaining and styling her hair difficult. After going to The W Salon and having a consultation with Jen, I knew we were in good hands and going in the right direction. After returning to the salon and actually having the cut done, I couldn’t be more pleased. Jen took the time to make my daughter feel special and treated her no different then any other client. She talked with her and made sure the cut was something she wanted and could take care of. She educated her on how to style and was overall EXTREMELY friendly and patient. The W Salon is beautiful inside as well as extremely clean. We were welcomed with a smiling face as soon as we entered the salon. We will be going back in 3 months to check on regrowth and style. I would highly recommend Jen and The W Salon as a whole.

Going to The W Salon is such an incredible experience. The staff is professional and friendly. The atmosphere is elegant yet inviting. It’s a high end environment but does not feel cold or intimidating. It is clear that the staff goes above and beyond to make sure proper Covid procedure are in place, and make sure guests feel safe and comfortable.

Kat does an incredible job and is so talented. I have been a loyal client for years! She Is attentive and thorough; I always leave feeling incredible and so pleased with my hair! I constantly receive compliments on my hair since seeing her.

This salon is the best. Emma and Whitney are true professionals using state of the art products combined with their desire to please YOU. Smart, professional and compassionate. They care about your comfort and want you leaving happy. I am always getting compliments on my hair days and weeks later. The salon is gorgeous and also exceptionally clean and comfortable.

I highly recommend The W Salon. Whitney is the best! She has been doing my hair for years, and I wouldn't go to anyone else. I also take my two young daughters to her! ANYTHING you want done Whitney can do it! All of the staff there are super professional and the salon is modern and beautiful.

Whitney is an amazing and talented artist in her field. My hair is healthy and natural looking due to her expertise and the quality products she uses. I can't say enough great things about my first visit to the W Salon in Latham and the extremely talented and skilled stylist, Jen, who is an absolute hair magician!

It's easy to see why The W Salon was voted as 'Best Hair Salon in The Capital Region' by just looking at the photos of the stylists work on their Instagram. The establishment itself is also very clean and modern inside and one thing that also impressed me was how comfortable the shampoo station chairs were.

I've been going to Jen for a few years because it took me a long time to finally find someone who's always consistent at giving me the best cuts and knows what works for my hair. She's also very easy to talk to and listens and understands what I want when I can't explain myself. I used to have bad haircut anxiety before I met Jen but she's helped me through all that and makes the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. I'm always happy and completely satisfied every time I walk out of the door and I actually look forward to getting my next cut knowing there's someone out there that I can totally trust with my hair.

I couldn't be more appreciative of all that she's done for me in making me look and feel good and I can easily say that Jen truly is a gem in this business!

I had such a great experience at The W Salon! Jen was my stylist and is amazing. She is so thorough and talented, and made me feel like a beautiful blonde! Jen listens to what you want and really takes the time to get it right. I would highly recommend Jen for any highlights or balayage!
