Troy Public Library

I don’t know who is writing poor reviews for this library but they are insane and unkind. This library is one of the gems of Troy. It is architecturally gorgeous, the children’s section is amazing, every other section is excellent, the staff is so friendly, the events are above expectation, and it is centrally located. Whoever the librarian that wears suits in the children’s section should be promoted by the way— he goes out of his way to make suggestions to kids and makes an effort to engage with people which is very, very nice. Libraries used to be full of staff that cared about your experience AND were knowledgeable about the books around but oh how the times have changed for sure! You will not find staff members like this at other libraries in the Capital Region.

Make sure you visit this library and explore the whole library for the whole experience!

TPL is just the best. My daughter wants to go there everyday. Beautiful and well stocked kids library with comfy places to sit. I'm a fan of the main library as well and have found it a great resource.

What really sets it apart is the kind, attentive, intelligent, and abundantly helpful staff of library associates. My daughter loves the activities at the library, the fairy, and the overall atmosphere of acceptance and love of reading. Kudos to these wonderful people and I hope they are well taken care of and appreciated so they will stay a long time!

Amazing place. One of the best libraries I have been to. It has a really nice collection. It has a cozy reading area. The staff are kind and extremely helpful. I was able to issue multiple books at one go. I don't like big government, but public libraries are the exception. :)

Best library in the capital region. Quiet, no disturbance. Just peaceful

My boys and I have been here several times. They love the kids room, and I love the YA section. We go a couple times per week, fast readers. My boys are full of questions and most of the staff are laid back and happy to oblige being pestered by 9 yr olds lol. They also have a bunch of computers, a printer and a fax. I think it's 10¢ per page. Very helpful when I didn't have anything handy to sign up for health insurance and was job searching a few years ago. Worth the visit. Plus it's surrounded by pokestops!

Nice extensive cataloge of many subjects, surprisingly that is not as common as you think. Plus a bonus for when your day dreaming, there is beautiful art and building fixtures to keep you from working for hours!

I love going to this library. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I am glad they are open again. I missed reading a real book. I get audio books are good or reading on your tablet, but there is nothing like reading a real book and turning the pages. Welcome books

This library is amazing! Its such a cool building in a great part of Troy.I love the architecture. The people who work there ate friendly and very helpful. Public restrooms and free internet.

A beautiful library - ask the librarians to illuminate the Tiffany stained glass behind the circulation desk. The stacks are also worth checking out. For a small city library they have a good collection and the librarians are super-helpful.

Always a large variety of DVDs, books, TV on dvd, and they are always expanding every section of the library. I requested they try to get a little bigger selection for certain people out there, and they did 😊 Librarians there are very kind and helpful 😁

Beautiful building, lots of community activities, friendly librarians and volunteers. Getting a library card was quick and easy, and there is always something going on!

This is a Peaceful place. The best place to read qnd study

My kids love this library mainly because it's close to home and we cant borrow movies and bring them back when we are all done

I always like going to the Troy Library down on 2nd Street. They have all the books and movies . Great place to get education and relax 😉

The children's section is comfortable and cozy with a wide selection of books. The librarians are always helpful

I went there for the first time, two gentlemen downstairs were polite and helpful.
