Outpost music is great, friendly and extremely helpful for a 65 year old newbie. Decided at 65 I always wanted to try to play the guitar, and yes Ben Janzow can teach an old dog new tricks. Only 3 lessons under my belt but extremely happy with my progress. Outpost music is willing to help me with any equipment I might need and from what I've seen very reasonable on the prices. Just need to stop and look. Might find something that you always wanted to try. It's never too late.

Really appreciate the attention given to my beloved old Washburn G2V here. These folks found parts & elusive little pieces that have been missing or broken for a very long time. The corporate retailers, luthiers, & even the manufacturer over the years have all been so consistently enthusiastic w/ "NO! Can't help-Won't help-Not going to try" that I'd almost given up on this quest.

The owners and their staff are so nice, and as another reviewer mentioned, very genuine! I've been taking guitar lessons with Ben for some time, and although I've moved to Nashville, I'm still doing video lessons with him. He's a great teacher -- very patient, customizes lessons to what you're looking for, and just an all-around good guy. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to take lessons, but because he is so patient, I'm guessing he would be especially great with kids.

This is a perfect example of a home town music store. It even has a guitar repair shop. I enjoyed my visit.

AMAZING! A superb guitar & music store in downtown Waukesha. It's much bigger inside than it appears outside & space is very well utilized. Guitar strings were marked up but I was given a slight discount for no apparent reason other than casually & politely chatting with an employee there, who was very nice & seemed enthusiastic about music! I want to return very soon & regularly.

Highly recommend! My son has been taking drum lessons from Marty for about a year and we couldn't be happier. Marty is patient, enthusiastic and a very talented musician and teacher. The staff at Outpost is knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. This is a great local business to support!

Great place for used and new instruments and equipment. Also they have a wonderful guitar instructor (Ben Janzow) he charges a very reasonable rate. He teaches my husband songs he can actually play and also works with my autistic son in what we call music therapy. This is a must for the beginning musician or the expert musician who wants to get great deals on musical items.

Very cool place, run by really genuine people. I took my guitar there for repair, and not only did they do a great job...the price was super reasonable. I expected it to cost much more! I will be heading back for my music equipment from now on!

Never knew it was there until a recent article was posted about the owner who has been a successful musician himself. The young man that was running the store that day was super knowledgeable about everything. Music didn't go away, covid19 forced a shutdown. A rebirth of musicians and live music is back. If you are in need of anything to do your craft or just a novice support this local business In Waukesha.

For my birthday, I got a ukulele! So, my broth (not even have a clue how to) truer to tune it... long story short the string broke. They have great service and the strings were super cheap but good quality, and they even put it on for me!

Great Service in the store, but the real reason Outpost Music is amazing are the lessons. I have been taking bass lessons there for almost 2 years and I have grown a lot, both as a bassist and a musician. The teachers offer new expiriences to you, like camps and bands. They let you choose what songs you want to learn and help you become the type of musician you want to be. Outpost music changed my life.

A gem within downtown Waukesha. Great selection of guitars (acoustic and electric) and basses. Even with a focus on these, they still manage to have keyboards, bongos, amps and all sorts of stuff. Haven't rented from them yet but I know they rent instruments such as violins and violas. But the real reason why they shine over White house or Cascio (aside from price and location) is their excellent repair service they offer. Anytime an instrument needs repairing I always take it to Outpost and I'm always happy with their service.

Great customer service. Great deals. If they don't have what you're looking for in Stock, they can order it. I'll never waste my time or money at places like guitar center again.

It's mostly begginer to intermediate gear but you can finds some great gems worthy for any guitar player. Yes they do music lessons.

We went there to introduce my Niece to Ben and talk about potential guitar lessons. We looked at guitars and Ukulele's for a while, talked with the owner Craig for a while, he took the time to spend explaining differences in acoustic guitars. My niece walked out the proud owner of her first Ibanez Acoustic guitar, gig bag, and a hand full of pics! She's had a couple lessons with Ben so far and she absolutely loves it!!!
