We like military history and memorials so this was right up our alley. Unfortunately, it was closed today since we were here on a holiday weekend. Albacore Park is a hidden gem offering naval history, maritime technology and is home to the USS Albacore submarine which you can go in if it's open for self guided tours. In addition to the submarine, Albacore Park has well-maintained grounds with interpretive exhibits and artifacts related to naval history. Interactive displays provide context for the technological advancements and strategic significance of submarines during the Cold War era.

Great place to honor New Hampshire veterans and those who sacrificed their lives in service.

This was by far the submarine in the best shape that I have ever toured. This is due to the fact it never saw battle and was built as a test bed for future subs. The people who put forth the money to have it setup should have been proud of the great job they did here - first class all the way.

As I read through everything it’s really an amazing tribute to the original Albacore that sank in 1944.

This is definitely worth the trip to understand the history of this submarine and all those that came before and after.

Really neat museum. A little overpriced at $11 to get into the submarine, as it's really a max 10-15 minute activity. They also just added this very impressive piece of new watercraft on site called the ghost. Very very cool! Would recommend going here if you're in Portsmouth!

I recall going years ago with my Dad.
He always educated my kids during their summer break , getting away from the Florida heat and lifestyle.

A very nice mueum. One can do self guided tours on the sub at your own pace. Audio explanations available throughout the boat. One can sit down and handle the controls or look through the periscope. Easy off and on the interstate, too.

It doesn't matter if you're young or old (like me) it's an awesome experience to walk through an actual submarine and see what it's really like. So much packed into one space that I've been a couple times and see things I didn't before. If you have kids with you there's so many hands on things to touch and see that they will not be bored!

If you haven't taken a trip to see this gem, you should. Enter the museum and watch a brief video on the history of the sub and check out the artifacts. Tour the sub and hit the audio buttons to hear actual voices of the men that served aboard. See how they lived and worked in such small spaces. Walk the well manicured grounds and read the memorials. Well worth the eight dollars!

We stumbled upon this passing through the area and was a great stop.

Naval history at its best. Working my way through this vessel, because there's no clear way to just walk through, I got the clear sense that there was no way I could survive weeks and months underwater in this thing. My respect for all submariners has grown immensely. A special thank you to all the Cold War vets who kept us safe.

Didn't take long to go through but if you take your time, listen to the audio of events, and check things out in detail you could have a great experience.

Very cool facility. There is a museum, and outside is the Albacore! Nice friendly staff, and very wel kept grounds. I wish I had toured this the as a kid; it would've made watching those WW2 movies so much kore realistic! Tour this submarine, it's fairly quick and unmatched in providing this prospective.

This is an amazing tour. Our kids found this to be an incredible experience and it is all self guided. The amount of work that must go into building these subs is mind blowing. The living conditions and how sailors lived/live and worked/work in these vessels is so fascinating.

Great piece of history. It's probably not appropriate for elderly or disabled people.
