It was the worst latte I had in a long time. It had horrible after taste. We asked for it not to be too hot. It was hot as lava. There was no foam. It was just awful on every level. I would never go back!!!
We thru it out after few sips. 5 min later and I can still taste it. Ughh.

Great local coffee spot!

Oct. 2023 Update: Established in 1992, Port City Coffee Roasters has been a mainstay of Portsmouths caffeine supply. Located in a convenient spot, this coffee shop has a quaint feel with exceptional coffee and amazing staff.

I'll be looking forward to coming back here every time I'm in the area.

It was excellent would definitely go there again. Atmosphere was very warm and inviting.

I love the Shipwreck coffee, a robust medium blend. I drink gallons of Morning blend at home. A small local coffee shop with the owners often there working away. THAT's my kind of coffee shop!

THE BEST coffee in Portsmouth, and there are a lot of coffee shops in Portsmouth! Been coming here for years now and never had any coffee or experience that was less than stellar. One of very few places around that actually roast their own beans too. Oh and they have an awesome selection of nondairy milk options – including macadamia nut milk (my favorite!)

I was in earlier today getting some Capone beans (highly recommend and I believe it is also their best seller) and asked if they had any lemonade. And they did not, but they immediately volunteered to make me one from scratch and proceeded to make me one of the best fresh squeezed lemonade’s I’ve ever had!

This is such a representative experience too- I’ve always had a phenomenal service and the staff is regularly willing to go above and beyond. Seriously, it really is the best coffee shop in a town FULL of really good coffee shops. I cannot sing their praise loudly enough!

I have heard a lot of good things about this local coffee shop. And it did not disappoint!!! Staff is extremely helpful & kind. Coffee is amazing, you can taste every note and care put into the brew. Bagels are yummy as well!! This is will be a regular spot for me

We are always looking for places that have brewed coffee flavors and not flavor shots. Port City won’t let you down! My go to is their rain forest crunch iced coffee but keep a look out for their special flavors like chocolate raspberry! So yummy!

I stopped in to Port City Coffee for lunch with a co-worker, and we had such a phenomenal experience. The staff on duty greeted us right when we walked in the door, they walked us through different menu options, and even asked how we enjoyed the coffee. The bagels were also terrific!

LOVE their coffee beans and my sons love their breakfast sandwiches. I started grinding my own beans when their Christmas Special (buy 2lbs, get one free) ran in Decemebr and now and totally hooked on Crow's Nest, Breakfast Blend, Mocha Java, Shipwreck, and Rainforest Crunch. If you are not sure which coffee to buy, ask to look at their book which provides countries of origin and accurate descriptions of each coffe. Some of the staff also serve as knowledgable rexcources. Offering bagels, LoveBird Donuts, and other goodies, many folks grab their breakfast or brunch here too. Hazelnut Iced coffee remains a favorite for many--a local secret, stop in and check it out, but don't tell anyone!

Their coffee is AH-maz-ing!! So happy I stumbled upon Derek while out at dinner one night and was introduced to his fantastic coffee. So excited to offer it in my coffee shop hopefully someday soon.

I pulled over on my way from Boston to Maine because I was getting sleepy. This place was just what I needed! Not too far from the highway. Friendly staff and customers. Great matcha.

I've been searching for local roasted coffee with a nice aroma and full flavor and now I found it!
They also have a bunch of bakery, treats and breakfast but I haven't try it yet, I looking forward to try some during my next visit.

Every visit has been a pleasant experience. I always get whole bean coffee, and I've been coming for years because of the consistency and quality of the taste. They also add fun menu items, and today they had freshly squeezed lemonade. It was the perfect refreshment for this heat!

Great coffee! Pro tip, they sometimes have local eggs in the fridge for a good price! I was lucky enough to snag a dozen to being back home. Will stop by again!

Iced coffee, cold brew and lattes are all amazing here. Definitely with a visit if you are in the area.

This coffee shop was quite a find! I like trying new blends of coffee that are freshly roasted and Port City offers a great deal of variety and choice. I tried their Indian Malabar Mysore blend and the beans were very flavorful when making cappuccino at home in my professional grade machine. The staff is very friendly and the pricing is very reasonable, unlike the exorbitant prices in many coffee shops in Boston!

Strolled in looking for something that probably wasn't on the menu. I see they had a frozen mocha and I was looking for something like that but more towards a ice cream version of a caramel ice latte. I stated my desires and Stephanie knocked it out of the park for me 🤗
The staff was very friendly, the place is clean AF, they have very close parking, and places to sit outside. There is a dogo dish for water and a hook or two for a leash. I will go here every morning I am nearby for a great cup and even better smile. Thank you!

A cozy / local coffee shop with a good variety of breakfast and lunch items on the menu. Port City is not in downtown Portsmouth, but is also not far off of the beaten path. If you like local places, they're worth a stop in.

I buy Port City fresh roasted beans and I've never found a better cup of coffee. Love it Love it Love it. I especially like when I visit the store and they are roasting bean right in the shop. Incredible smell. Incredible cup of coffee -- both at my home and in the shop.
