Holiday Inn Portsmouth, an IHG Hotel

Stopped for the night while passing through on business. Hotel is currently being renovated but I ended up getting a room that had been newly remodeled. The room had a bright, fresh, appearance. The beds are super comfortable, much better than most of the Holiday inns that I stay at. We ended up eating at the restaurant associated with the hotel. I had a bacon cheeseburger which was phenomenal and they had a nice variety of beer. I would definitely recommend this Hotel if you're looking for a place to stay for the evening.

As a military member traveling can be frustrating especially during the PCS season. The staff at this location was professional but more important they made me feel welcome. After a long flight into Boston followed by a long drive which I was stuck in traffic forever. I was greeted with a smile; my room was clean it may not seem like much but for me it was needed. The check in/check out process was quick. The Naval shipyard is less than 10 minutes away by car. Downtown Portsmouth which has amazing food less than 10 minutes away by car. The stay was worth the price. The great customer service has earned the hotel a loyal customer. I thought that i should share my experience after reading a review that was filled with hate in what seem to be harassment. it's a shame that people have so much hate in their heart.

This location is always very inviting and clean. There was some mentions of water pressure but there was no issue in our room. The room cleaning staff could not speak English but she was very helpful and with a smile she gave us clean towels and we exchanged ours into her laundry basket. Her smile went a long way. This is a wonderful location to stay !

This is a solid Holiday Inn! Very clean rooms, newer/modern furnishings, standard amenities as well as a pretty cool looking solarium pool. No quick and easy breakfast which was a shame, but probably could have prepared for that if I read the description! Would definitely stay here again.

Went for a two conference. Staff was very friendly. Food was delicious! Rooms are spacious and has amenities. Would definitely stay again. ….plus across the stress from the liquor outlet and not far from Kittery outlets!

The hotel is very easy access to rt 1. I was disappointed that the pool was closed when I was there. The rooms are decent size. It's a hotel, no great features to make it stand out. I would have preferred a downtown location. I didn't make the reservations, my boss did, so I had no choice.

I stayed here for a week with work. Rooms were nice and the staff were all friendly. Excellent location. The bar is good. Breakfast was sometimes a bit chaotic unfortunately.

We chose the package of room + breakfast at this updated family friendly Holiday Inn Hotel in Portsmouth. The hotel is conveniently located, less than 1 mile (about 6 mins drive) from downtown Portsmouth. Free parking! Great hospitality from this hotel, all the staffs at this hotel were so welcoming. Our two queens bedroom was spacious, clean and comfy, just wished the bathroom had more ventilation. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and pleasant!

As a person who travels well over 225 days a year, and stays at hotels throughout North America, the service that Eli Reyes provides is better than any 5 star hotel in the country. He is professional, he follows up, he is calm, and respectful. Eli is part of an excellent team at the Holiday Inn Portsmouth. I applaud Eli and everyone! Thank you for many great stays.

Very nice hotel, clearly renovated (on going). Extremely friendly staff. New and comfortable bed.

Location is about a mile from downtown - easy Uber/Lyft/cab ride (~$6).

I'd stay here again.

Fantastic! Nice job on the renovation…bedding was so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfectly prepared although it’s sad that they can’t find people to hire for the restaurant. It was nice getting served by the Food and Bev manager though as he shared some different folks he has met while working there. The pool is nice but I think on hot days someone should open the sliders for ventilation. I could be wrong but I don’t think outside guests would sneak in but who knows. One little thing that could still be done at little expense is to install the slow closing toilet seats which would be a nice touch. Also Housekeeping staff very pleasant when I asked for extra towels. We’ll be back.

Enjoyed my lengthy stay. Staff was great; Especially Joe and Dru in the bar restaurant.

Hands down the best hotel experience you can ask for. Over the last two years, I have been staying here roughly once per month for my job, with a regional company. James, the head chef of the restaurant and also an attendant of the front desk, is one of the friendliest people you can meet - no matter the time of day or night. The rest of the staff displays the same attitude. To any staff who sees this - thank you all for all that you do! And if a higher manager sees this - please give these folks a raise! 😊

Good modern hotel with friendly, helpful staff.

We stayed at The Holiday Inn Portsmouth for a night last month. The staff were friendly and the room was pleasant. Today I realized I must have left my favorite blazer in the hotel room. I called assuming that there was little chance it was still there and that the staff would probably be annoyed I was even calling about it this late. Instead, Mikaela was very professional and took my information. A few minutes later she called back and said they still had it! She was very kind about the situation and said she would get it shipped out to me right away. Even if they hadn’t found it, I appreciate how quick they were to try. Five stars for great customer service!

I have stayed here for over ten years for work and the people who work for the Holiday Inn are very good in all aspects of the establishment. The front desk is always extremely helpful. Ryan Tiffany and Mikaela are always so positive and efficient at anything I throw at them. Marc in maintenence is a great man. Housekeeping is always on top of thing and has done an amazing job to maintain there great work through this pandemic. Everyone in upper management has been very flexible and understanding with my needs when here on property. I always feel at home here.

Yes, I am giving this place 5 stars because their breakfast was amazing, staff was friendly and there was always hot coffee. The location is great and The Roundabout has really good food next door.

The Holiday inn in Portsmouth is really amazing, I'd love the staff they're really friendly people front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, the bar. It is really really a great place to stay while visiting Portsmouth.
