No reservations but worth the wait! Everything on the menu sounded delicious, and everything we ordered was just that. The cocktail menu was inventive, the draft list was extensive and had a little bit of everything. We sat at the bar and had a great bartender. The atmosphere is cozy with soft light and a wide range of fun music played from vinyl. If you get the chance, I highly recommend going.

Can't believe I've lived in kittery for almost 10 years and this was my first visit. We came pretty late at night and got a seat immediately. The food was incredible and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great night, they let my friend sample wine and we tried a few appetizers, duck, fritters and deviled eggs. The cod entrée with risotto was a must experience meal. It was quiet and an absolutely great girls night out. Our new go-to

Absolutely amazing food. One of the best fish and chips we've had in all our years in America. We tend to order it whenever it is on the menu because we enjoyed it often living in New Zealand. The batter is crispy and thin and the cod is soft. The mussels were very good as well,, nice size and plump and cooked to perfection (mussels are also another food we are snobs about coming from New Zealand). We also had the strip steak which had these amazing radishes. The portions were just right and the price is very reasonable and the wait staff is very attentive and helpful with the beer recommendations. We will come back here the next time we come up to Maine!

Fresh, fun and fabulous. They execute excellence. The music pairs perfectly with the atmosphere. Get the daily deviled eggs and pickles. Try a new beverage and be prepared for your meal to knock your socks off.

Delicious food and drinks, great service, cool atmosphere. Well worth the wait (can always bop over to The Wallingford or Anneke Jans for a cocktail while waiting). And to top it off we had to review our tab because we were shocked how affordable it was for dinner on the Seacoast!

The Black Birch is one of my all time favorites. We were lucky enough to get right in with a party of 3 at 630pm on a beautiful Saturday which is usually unheard of for most of the restaurants in downtown Kittery.

Gavin who runs FOH is also an owner is always pleasant and friendly chatting with guest while seating or waiting to be seated.

There's always a great selection of beers on tap and a range of appetizers, small plates, large plates, entrees and desserts prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The Black Birch is best with a group that enjoys sharing so you can try a little bit of everything across the whole menu.

The house pickles and devil's eggs are a must!

A pretty great draft beer list and even better foooood!
Travel buddy & I shared the duck confit poutine, a grilled cheese w split pea soup, and chocolate cardamom "cake" (which was actually more like a slice of fluffy ganache 😍 - killer!) - all 100% delightful.

Not even done with our meal yet but I have to rave about our duck rilette. We've also ordered a few beers and cocktails, the deviled eggs, house meat plate and the poutine. Everything has been great thus far.

Update: everything is still fantastic!

Update #5 or so at this point? Yep still a must dine.

I never go to the Seacoast without stopping in for dinner here. Start with a cocktail and deviled eggs, then let it develop from there. I am picky with pairing wine, and have always gone with recommendations and never been disappointed with wine, although it can’t even come close to comparing to the wonderful food.

Tired after eating at “all the same places in New England” we were so happy to eat good food. Good quality ingredients and prepared well. Starting with olives and pickled veggies and ending with amazingly sweet and delicious pork shank and delicate and tasteful swordfish. Service and atmosphere are great. Looking forward to coming here again.

Such a fun spot tucked away in kittery, they dont take reservations and despite waiting 2 hrs for our party of 5 it was so worth it! the host was extremely friendly and sent us some snacks on the house due to the wait. All the dishes were well thought out but both types of deviled eggs and the bacon wrapped trout stood out. I cant wait to return!

Food was great! Nice to have s an option in the area that serves more than your typical NE seafood preparation and standard steak offering. A breath of fresh air among standard fare.

You never get bored with their menu because they change it according to what’s fresh each season

First time here. Food is phenomenal! Will not be the only time I'm here.

Got the Lamb Meatballs, Chicken Pot Pie, and Carrot Cake. All of it was off the hook! And for the quality of food, price cant be matched.

This place never disappoints. I have come many times and have always left happy. The food is always unique, well executed and good portions with fair prices. The service is amazing. The staff is fun, attentive, professional and personable. It’s worth a wait for a table. One of the best restaurants in the area. Highly recommend.

The food is always stellar. Only to be outdone by the service and the drinks. Perfectly curated and unpretentious. I could order blind off the menu and love whatever they brought me. Everything is a knock out.

This pub is my go-to spot if I am unsure what my dinner companions would like for their meal. The pub offers a rather large section for a smaller venue. I have been here quite often and tried many different items for the menu, and I have always been happy with my choices.
The staff is friendly, efficient, and informative. They are everything you could want from a staff. I believe this place is worth a try.
