Was in town and a local told me it was the best pizza. It was a bit out of the way, but very worth the trip. I came late to pickup and they waited and half baked it and finished it off when I arrived. Totally unexpected and great service. If you love pizza, highly recommended....

Saw this was the highest reviewed spot in Upstate NY, amazing pizza especially the crust! This spot is a must do. Don’t be surprised by mutable hour wait for carry out orders, order online for next available spot.

Its and old school spot with great pizza and great service. While im giving this review im not gonna lie when i opened the box i thought wow this pizza is thick. However when you bite into it youll see how light and airy yet crispy at the same time the pizza is. Its simply great pizza but the higjlight is no doubt the sauce! A slight tang and doesnt let the cheese take over like most places do. I live all the way in goshen and will be back multiple times just for this pie!

Just stopped by because I was craving something cheesy and fresh. They did not disappoint. I got the sausage, onions and peppers pizza, so yummy! Also service was super fast and the lady at the cash register was very friendly and attentive. 10 out of 10 recommended.

My girlfriend and I planned a special stop here on a recent trip through NY based on the One Bite review and Dave declaring it a must-do for all real pizza enthusiasts. We walked into the rustic dining room/takeout area to place our order and our hearts sank when they told us the pizza oven was booked solid until 7:30PM! We should have known this place would be busy when we saw customers carrying armloads of pizzas out the door as we came in. We started to turn away defeated, when the nice lady at the counter said they could squeeze one pie in for us on the spot. We sat down and soaked in the old school ambience of the bustling kitchen and dining area and watched as their pasta guy cranked out fresh made pasta. Within a few minutes our pizza arrived and we dug in. We've followed Dave's reviews all over Jersey, NY, Philly and New Haven, and he struck gold when he found De Fazio's (which I'm sure was already a local legend.) This pizza ranked right up there with all of the titans of pizza. The dough is what really made it for me.
After we ate we stopped next door at the goods store where you can buy merch and a lot of their various ingredients and got a chance to chat with the very personable owner. He is very proud of his pizza, and with good reason. Hats off to this place for their friendly employees and not letting the fame go to their heads. So glad we made the special trip and were able to experience this place. Can't recommend them enough, and make sure to try a slice of their hangover cake.

Best pizza that is around. Pizza has the best sauce and fresh cheese. Must order early to reserve a time slot for you pizza pickup.

I visited this pizza place this winter as it had high reviews in the barstool app and it did not disappoint. We drove around 45 minutes from where we were staying to try this pizza and it was better than expected. The thickness, sauce and cheese on the pizza were great. Probably one of my favorite of this style of pizza. I loved the garlic bread as well. I was not a fan of the hangover cake but I definitely recommend trying the plain pie and garlic bread!

Really great pizza for upstate. In town from the city and it was very good. Did take 50 minutes for two small pies on a Wednesday but would definitely come back

Year after year, I keep coming back to Defazios. They can't lose! Their pizzas are so good. I had a celebration last year and ordered one of every pizza on their menu. The only warning I'll give is that on a Friday or Saturday, you have to order early in the day. They're also the epitome of NY culture that I love. Every interaction that I have with them feels so authentic. I'm so lucky I stumbled upon this gem when I moved to Troy 7 years ago.

After a 3 hour drive from NYC thinking about nothing but the renowned pizza I'm finally going to try, imagine my disappointment when I was told they're not taking any new pizza orders for another two hours 🙃 Well good thing De Fazio isn't a one trick pony, because pizza isn't the only thing they do well. We had pasta they made just that morning - I could taste the dough being kneaded. And their Hangover Cake... it is the most moist, soft concentration of Italian dessert flavor. Of course there were leftovers because they don't skimp on the portion size, and of course we are eating them for dinner. I will come back to try the pizza if it's the last thing I do.

Awesome thin crust pizza! Definitely a take out establishment because it’s very small but this small place puts out some great pizza! All fresh ingredients, real mozzarella and done perfectly.

Will be back!

Been meaning to stop here for quite some time. Today was the day, and it didn't disappoint! Staff was super friendly and welcoming, answering all my geeky questions and letting me take pics. Super cool, family run place. Pizza is great! Will definitely be back, and will take home some fresh pasta as well.

This pizza was amazing, the dough, cheese and sauce were all extremely tasty. With an airy crust to top it off. Definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had with a fantastic environment and pleasant employees.

Wonderful food and experience. Food is authentic and so fresh. I recommend ordering ahead for carry out and must add a slice of the Italian hangover cake to your order.

I’m passing through Albany and I was told by two people that this was the best pizza in the area, so I took their advice.
I tried to call to order ahead, but the call didn’t go through. They were definitely busy when I got there and it was about a 35 minute wait, but I was determined to try it out and it was definitely worth the wait. The pizza is great, but the pepperoni is super greasy (to be expected- just not used to it since I usually don’t eat me, but I’m on vacation)- nothing a few paper towels didn’t fix. I normally don’t do Italian sausage (always stuck with regular sausage), but the girl that took my order said it’s a blend and it tasted really good, too. There are only two small tables inside, but they had outdoor seating in the back.
Overall, I highly recommend.

DeFazio's makes a great pizza. Our party shared 3 small options. Cheese, Vegan, Broccoli and Spinach. All of them were delicious. What impressed us the most was how the plain cheese pizza was the star. Whatever they are doing with their sauce, cheese and crust is perfection. Nothing says to me that a pizza shop knows what it is doing when the plain slice blows you away. DeFazio's nailed it. Important as well is the vegan options. As is typical it gets a bit more expensive when you go for vegan options, but the Vegans in the group were so very happy, also noting they hadn't found a vegan pizza in the area as good as the one they had at DeFazio's.

This place is super busy and actually has to limit their orders per time slot. So if you can, consider this for your future order and reserve it ahead of time. When we arrived a few minutes early, they asked us to wait outside (you can wait if your vehicle and actually choose that option online) and they came to us outside to hand deliver the fresh pizzas when they were ready. You can see they have put thought into the their systems to make the process as smooth as possible for their customers. And as always Enjoy!!
