Happy House Chinese Restaurant

In an oasis of restaurant stops, this one shines through in Grandview. With 10 or more of your favorite Chinese dishes listed on the wall and combo options that come with fried rice and an egg roll for under $10 there’s plenty of reasons why you’ll leave happy. But best of all, forgot to call ahead and have to order take out …. before you can say happy house 10x in a row, the cashier will call you to come get your brown bag full of appetite-satisfying magic.

This is an amazing little cheap Chinese restaurant. They are always fast, friendly and the food hot and decent quality. I usually get the chicken Lo Mein and it is absolutely delicious, not to mention the large of it is 9 dollars and some change. It's a great deal. If you have not given happy house a try yet, then I highly recommend you do so soon!

Don't know why it took me so long to find this hidden gem. Everything I have tried has been wonderful. The sauces are all rich and interesting, not bland like some other places. My favorites are the black bean tofu and spicy wontons. They also know how to make it HOT when you ask.

My office is really close to Happy House Chinese Restaurant and I decided to give it a try after I tried all Asian restaurant around.

I got General Tso chicken during lunch special, it comes with drink for $7.95 and it worth it even they gave only 2 pieces of broccoli.

I told my co-workers to try them and they all love it, very happy that I have a good place to for lunch, plus the service was nice, food came pretty quick. I ordered online and could pickup in 10mins!

I love this place, we always get delivery from there, but we finally ate in the other day. It is your basic Chinese takeaway, with some basic tables with bench seating on one side. Drinks are in cans and 20oz bottles, and the food is brought out to you, piping hot. It's very much Americanized Chinese, or at least what I eat is, the Kung Pao chicken. If that is your thing, it's a great place to eat. They have combination plates all day which is appreciated for those of us who are budget minded, with egg rolls included, and they also have lunch specials that include a soda instead.

Delicious! Fast delivery from doordash. Got veggie lo-mein, general tsos, egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Everything was fresh including the veggies in the lo-mein. No fortune cookies but otherwise delicious!!

I ate a delicious "late lunch" [or "early supper"] earlier today [9-30-2022] at Happy House Chinese Restaurant at 1267 W. Fifth Ave. in the "Fifth by Northwest" neighborhood of Columbus

I have eaten at Happy House Chinese Restaurant occasionally over the years; it had been quite a while since I had most recently eaten there.

My food choice earlier today had been House Fried Rice [served with chicken, pork, and shrimp]. At the ordering counter, I learned that there are two sizes of House Fried Rice [small and large] that are not mentioned on the website. I decided to order "small" because the price for "small" had matched the price that I had been expecting to pay based on what I had seen on the website.

While waiting for my food, I enjoyed walking around the small dining room and looking at the many images that have been painted onto the walls that greatly enhance the interior environment at Happy House Chinese Restaurant.

My House Fried Rice had been superbly delicious. I often order fried rice when I am at an Asian restaurant because fried rice is usually simple, quick, and inexpensive; the House Fried Rice that I had eaten at Happy House Chinese Restaurant had been far more delicious than I had been expecting.

If you are in the "Fifth by Northwest" neighborhood of Columbus and want to eat some delicious Chinese food in a "no-frills" restaurant that has quick service, I strongly recommend Happy House Chinese Restaurant.

I asked my tattoo artist (who was from Manhattan) where I could find the best Chinese takeout in Columbus and this was one of the spots he mentioned.
It was solid. Appropriately portioned and very flavorful.

I love the Happy House! I normally get Beef & Broccoli or Shrimp with Mei Fun noodles. Always quick and good food! This time I ordered for delivery, the restaurant delivers their own food, it was piping hot, earlier than I thought, and delicious! The driver was also super friendly! Give them a try!

Great taste I had General taos chicken. Not much broccoli but the chicken was decent amount. Over all a good lunch and with 1 more piece of broccoli it would be awesome.

Ordered the general tsos lunch special. It was delicious, just the right amount for the price. Chicken was crispy and had a good flavor. I could always use extra spicy but it's not too spicy for normal people! Friendly staff, quick service

I don't know why I waited so long to try this restaurant. I had Hunan chicken and pot stickers. The food was excellent. I will be a regular customer from now on.

The best place for chineses food for the price. The staff is always friendly. The food quality is pretty good. This serve coke product on drinks . The delivery driver are always fast and friendly. The food is always hot and fresh. Inside is clean but small. Maybe enough seats for 20-25 people.

We found this gem by looking for a morning restaurant. It was right across the street from the other gem we found. We were in the mood for a good Chinese restaurant and saw the Happy House Restaurant, and decided to give them a try. And are we glad we did! The egg drop soup was thick and delicious, the egg rolls are a delight and my order of pork egg foo young one of the best of my 62 years. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken, the batter on the chicken was outstanding! We have now found our go to for Chinese food when we are in Columbus and want it. Thank you Happy House.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to Chinese food this place has been one of the best so far I’ve had in Columbus. Delivery was on time and the food was great! The egg drop soup could use a little more salt but besides that I was very satisfied with the food. Yum yum sauce is very good to btw

Amazing customer service. I felt bad picking up my order 20 minutes before closing. I walked in to see 5 people waiting to order. The staff was friendly throughout it all.

Big plus. Their monster energy drinks are competitively price. They are even cheaper than some gas stations

I lived in Columbus for 7 years before trying this place, and now it feels like I wasted 7 years by missing out! Incredible flavor, value, and menu options. Hands down my new go-to Chinese restaurant. 11/10 highly recommend.

Been here many times. I've never had anything bad here- always quite good for the "fast food" prices. There are some Chinese restaurants that are better; but I'd recommend Happy House for a small place. Seems to be a little wait when ordering, but it's worth it when they fix everything one order at a time (fresh).
