Veterans Legacy Woods

A nice nature play area that is newer. A variety of paths to chose from. There is a water bottle filling station by the restrooms which is nice.

If you ever played golf at the former Wicked Woods Golf course, this park is a stroll down memory lane. All of the old asphalt cart paths are still mostly intact, and some remnants of the old course like tee box signs and water holders still remain in what is now mostly a nature preserve. Every time I've been there, there have never been more than one or two other vehicles in the parking lot. It makes for a mostly solitary nature walk. A lot of elevation changes remind me that this was a very challenging golf course. I think I like it better as a park.

One of my favorite hiking areas. A reclaimed golf course, now a hiker's park. 4.5 miles of paved trails that were once a golf cart path. Great hills! Geauga Parks will be renovating in 2021, adding an outdoor pavilion and additional paths. Cannot wait!

Miles of paved trails with some optional challenging inclines. I'm preparing for a backpacking trip out west, and I started my training here.

I think it's only been a few years since the park took this golf course over. It is amazing how quickly nature has reverted it back to a very natural looking park. The tee boxes are barely noticeable and the greens appear to be completely gone (overgrown by design).

They recently added a very nice pavilion with water, along with a playground.

I recommend this park.

A few steep hills here and there but the views are worth it.

This park is beautiful with lots of trees, hills, wildflowers, and ponds. It seems like there is always a nice breeze. From the parking area there is an expansive view. The paved paths are nice, especially if the ground is wet. There is plenty of wildlife such as deer, snakes, wild turkeys, etc. There is a cute playground and a large pavilion with indoor restrooms, electrical outlets, and a drinking fountain/water bottle filling station.

Something to consider is that the trails are not marked. This is one feature that I wish they would add, but in the meantime, consider taking a picture of the map with your phone before you get on the trails. Also, the deer flies are aggressive on the trails. So plan ahead when you prepare to go.

Love coming here when I need a really good workout. Lots of trails with a lot of hills. Make sure to take a bottle of water with you, even if you're only going for a shorter walk.
After being closed for quiet some time, they made some really great improvements. There are new bathroom facilities and a new trail loop. They are adding a playground area for the kids, but it's not finished yet. The trails are still the old cart paths, which is awesome, so you still get the workout you're looking for. Can't wait to see it all completed!

Very beautiful area for hiking.

500 in elevation gain in 5 miles... when rucking with a load at 4mph, it's a good fitness trail... plus you can keep speed on the paved path when everywhere else is muddy.

My husband, son, and I helped plant saplings with some fellow scouts today. It's a beautiful place🌍!

Absolutely beautiful lodge and park

Rolling open paved trails with several fishing ponds. Up and down terrain gives you a good workout on a walk.

It was a golf course so there is amply walking pathes. Rentable banquet hall. Beautiful pond areas

Walked the other trail,good exercise today. Up and down makes it great exercise. Will return for another round.

It's a tough trail with a lot of hills, but well worth the effort.
