Asahi Japanese Steak house

I honestly wish I could give more than just 5 stars on this review. 2 years ago I became allergic to sesame and that was one of the saddest days of my life… I haven’t been able to find a sushi or Japanese restaurant that was willing to accommodate to my allergy, but this place did. The woman who helped with my takeout order was sooooo nice and helpful. She also thought it was funny how excited I was to get sushi for the first time in 2 years! That woman alone gets a solid 7 out of 5 stars for her customer service and overall friendliness.

Now let’s talk about the food… not only was the sushi made to order, but it was delicious! I got the buckeye roll, sunshine roll, and bake scallop roll. The buckeye roll wasn’t for my taste buds but was still good. But the other two rolls…… it literally tasted like I took a bite out of heaven… they were made perfectly!

Long story short, I will DEFINITELY be coming back!

What a great place to grab some amazing sushi and hibachi. My favorite sushi is the Crazy Shrimp. I have dined in, and ordered their take out at and food is always delicious. I usually choose to sit at a regular table when I just wanted a quick meal. When I want the complete dining experience I opt for a seat at the hibachi grill. Highly recommend.

Birthday dinner for six-- Asahi is a large, clean, well-staffed and family friendly restaurant with professional chefs and servers who kept everyone well attended. One of our party was a 4 yr old granddaughter, and the staff knew exactly how to serve her, plus a beautiful balloon. The chef cooked and served our hibachi food perfectly; from the fried rice to the steak and seafood, it was delicious. I recommend this Delaware gem to anyone who wants great food and fun dining experience.

I was in Delaware for work and was in the mood for hibachi. I heard great things about this place from friends and had to try it for myself. I started out with the Japanese dumpling which were pretty good. I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi. The portions were very filling. I always order extra fried rice so there’s enough for lunch or dinner the next day. The yum yum sauce here is delicious. My drink was always refilled before I had to order more and the cook was very funny and interactive.

Second time being here, we’ve loved it each time. Great food, great service. A little pricey but it is what it is.

We went here for our anniversary on Sunday and it did not disappoint! We wanted a combination of steak and sushi and this fit the bill. Our waiter wasn't personable by any means but he was polite and always asked if we needed anything. I never had to ask for a refill which is a big plus. The sushi was fresh and delicious and the hibachi was FANTASTIC. All too often, the chef is soaking the fried rice in soy sauce and taking away any flavor of the rice. Our chef cooked it perfectly. I ordered my steak rare and he did not disappoint there either. We will definitely be back for more!

Attended the in-house reopening on 7/1/21. If you're looking for authentic hibachi style food without the heavy sauces then look no further. This is how hibachi is supposed to taste! Our server was very pleasant and our chef skilled and entertaining. Our last dining experience here was a couple years ago under previous ownership.

We went on New year's Eve and it was incredibly busy with people filling both the wait area and the lobby. We had a large party and even with a reservation took us over an hour to be seated only after half of our party left because their young children were getting tired and fussy from the wait . Once we were sat the wait staff was incredibly friendly despite being as busy as they were. Our orders were taken quickly and drinks were provided within minutes. But our chef is what made the night. Needless to say we were all a little frustrated and hungry after the long wait but as soon as he came to the grill he had us laughing. He had great showmanship, cooked the food to perfection and kept us laughing through the entire show. I'm so upset I didn't get his name because he deserves to be recognized for how great he was. The experience truly was worth the wait and I would recommend giving the place a try 100%

What a gem just outside downtown Delaware. They have wonderful hibachi at a super affordable price with large portions. We had an entire table to ourselves which was nice for our anniversary. We definitely will be back.

Food prepared at the table. Our party had a variety of foods from fillet mignon to salmon, all prepared hibachi style.

First time eating there. And everything was great good price everyone we meet was very friendly and the chef did a great job with the food. We will be going again.

My first Japanese Steak House and the experience was Outstanding! Your order was prepared right in front of you. Food is very fresh. Covid compliant with staff all around. The chefs put on a dazzling show of there cooking skills. I definitely recommend. The price is worth the meal.

So much good food and at really good prices. And of course a show while they're making it. Excellent sushi as well with surprisingly potent wasabi. We will definitely be coming back!

It took us longer than it should to find and try Asahi. The food is excellent. The chicken yakisoba is very good. My sons love the rare fillet. I really like to mix it up with the sushi every now and then and have always come away impressed. Those factors are important, but what keeps us coming back are the proprietors. Linda and husband always treat us with such care and happiness to have us back. The good food makes is important but the people of Asahi are what have now made us regulars. They even remained open during inclement weather for us, as the only customers, knowing it was our mother’s birthday. Thank you so much Asahi!

So good!! Fairly priced for larger portions cooked fresh at your table! The food has always been perfect and the service is very good. They have a good variety of tasty sushi and a little bar in the back if you are only there for a quick meal/drink. Try the scallops they are delicious! And plan to bring home leftovers!

Had dinner here tonight and everything was great. The hibachi food was delicious and the portions were giant (as expected from a hibachi). Our chef was a lot of fun and very entertaining. We also ordered sushi and that was great as well. Overall an awesome experience and we will definitely be back.

We came a little late, but that didn’t matter. We were welcomed in and had a delicious meal. Our chef did a fantastic job presenting our food and everything came out great. Also, the sushi was fantastic.

This was my first time going here. My friends have said it was good in the past but I'd not tried it. II wa really impressed. My family and I were greeted promptly and seated. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine and it was a generous pour so that was appreciated. 👍 We ordered a dragon roll as an app that had a nice presentation and tasted very good. Our cook did a great job with our steaks cooked to medium rare. And as always there is the show. He did a very nice job and our kids were entertained though the whole thing. Altogether it took only an hour but we never felt rushed at all. They all did a very nice job and we will be going back.

The way they do calamari is so good! I highly recommend it!
