Lakewood Cemetery Association

The people who work there are very nice and helpful. But I suspect they might be in need of donations for the upkeep of their beautiful cemetery. I had a granite headstone made for my g grandfather.

I found my great grandfather gravesite thanks to the wonderful employees at the cemetery. We bought a headstone for him.

My mother was laid to rest here recently and a lot of family members throughout the years. Nice place that's always kept up on.

Very unhappy with this place. The grass near my daughters grave is never cut. There are probably more weeds than grass. And not to mention it took them months and months to get the headstone set straight.

I am Bill Gredick, I know not why jil brown is in instead of me. My mom was buried there in June of 1998. There was a long time care taker worked full time and had 3 or 4 other guys who worked the cemetery with him. It was immaculately kept,grass headstones trimmed , never any trash thrown on the grass as it was always picked up a.s.a.p by the care takers. My mom's vault cost 1250.00 and the fee for opening the vault's door was 150.000. I called today for prices as I am 80 and wanted a vault too Evidently the long -time caretaker crew left and the boss retired about 2016. Since then the grounds have not been kept up neatly . The cost of a vault is overpriced at 4500.00 when mom's cost 1250.00 ., A 3250.00 cost increase over 25 years. The vaults have a stone door that cost 150.00 to open it and close in under 10 minutes. The fee now is 1900.00 for 10- minutes worth of labor up from 150.00 fee. This nice old cemetery is now under- kept and overpriced fees The vaults were constructed in 1990 paid for themselves by now. Very disappointing year in cemetery with two sets of flowers missing from clients wives headstone....no answers no love care at all.....the property is not well managed and would think twice about spending thousands on a plot in an area were others values have no bearing on property or life. Mr Sypolt was told things are being watched when they are not.. laws are being broke and something needs to be said about theft in cemetery as I see no flowers at all in back cemetery area?

My mother inlaw wished to be buried there. Her parents buried there also. I went there tonight to see headstones place out of line. The tree we buried her under 14 years ago dead and now packed in around her like sardines in a can are people. The headstones are not neat in line the grass has not been cut trash everywhere like nobody cares about the cemetery. It brought tears to my eyes that a beautiful place now looks like a unkempt overgrown cow pasture.

I am so very embarrassed that I trusted my son at this cemetery. My beautiful 18 year old granddaughter, along with my parents as well. If I had the funds I would have them moved somewhere else. It’s only been maybe the last 5 or 6 years that it has declined. Last year I was visiting my family and spend hours cleaning up beer bottles, candy papers, shredded flowers, etc. My husband who is 80 came with me and we used our weed wacker (from home) and cleaned up the family headstones. Lakewood Cemetery is an embarrassment.

I complain each year about the conditions and am ignored. When I tell them I’ve had to clean the areas I’m told “thank you”. SERIOUSLY 😡

This cemetery has gone down hill. The tombstone are sadly over grown with grass. When the lawn is cut they don’t bother picking up the trimmings so a pile of grass will be obscuring flat tombstone.The woman at the front desk refused to hear anything about the condition of the cemetery.
