My mom introduced me to this lovely restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff are so warm and remember you when you come back. And they have a lot of desert options. The service is great and there is lots of parking (parking is on both sides of the restaurant).

Oh my gosh. Stopped at Merk's Place in Farmville for lunch. Staff was super friendly and great family atmosphere. After I scarfed down a fried bologna sandwich with cheese and mayo (don't knock it til you tried it) That was just the beginning. For dessert, the absolute best fresh homemade coconut cake I have EVER tasted.....and I've been around a long time and tasted lots of cakes. I'm a TOUGH critic. It was the most tender butter cake...I was speechless literally. If you are close or in Farmville don't pass up a chance for dessert

Merk's Place always has the best food, the best people, and is a great place to take your family. I love eating there! They always remember me and my mother and check on us all the time. Great folks there.

Today was my first time eating at Merk’s Place in Farmville VA. All the wait staff are very friendly, and there are some humorous signs in this restaurant. I liked my salad, and it had loads of cheddar cheese. The menu has quite a large selection of meal choices, and I even splurged by getting a slice of delicious coconut cake!

We eat here a lot. This is a great restaurant. We always enjoyed the food and the people,Tonite we order a large supreme pizza for takeout, it was so delicious, we have not had a good pizza in this town in a while

Awesome. They had note saying they are understaffed but I can't imagine them doing any better! Food was amazing. Loved the Spanish omelet ;) we will be back

Ordered the 1/2lb NC slaw burger and loved it. The waitress was great and atmosphere was even better.
Update; April 2022, ordered breakfast and it was wonderful. Enjoyed my meal and great customer service. Added pic.

They have milk shakes or frappes depending where you are from. Good family place. Go and visit

Great food! Love the bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll!! Staff is accommodating to your situation. Need to have a fast meal they'll get your order, your food as soon as possible depending on how busy the kitchen is and get your check right to you. If you are looking to have a leisurely meal they'll serve your food and be friendly about cleaning off the table then casually stop by to see if you need a beverage refill. Never pushy or neglectful. Wish more places had staff like this staff!!

Excellent dinners available! Personally, I recommend the Reuben Sandwich but they have many options and lots of space for the family in the open dining area.
Breakfast here is the best in town.
It's not super fancy but you'll see why so many local residents bring visitors here.

Merk's is amazing! We found it by accident one year while visiting family, and we now go EVERY time we go to Virginia! It was truly awesome, good service, amazing food, great prices!!! We can not recommend them enough!

Excellent food and service. Love the setting reminds me of eating at restaurants when I was a kid! Awesome down home feeling that doesn’t feel too crowded. I have the cheesesteak sandwich and it was very good. Everything was fresh. Waitresses are all very nice and the owner puts forth a lot of effort to do an excellent job. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a comfort food location. Very diverse menu as well… Ice cream bar is awesome!!

Merks is our favorite place to eat in Farmville. Highly recommend the salads!
