Best experience I've had purchasing a kayak. I ordered online through them. I was nervous because of third party freight. The next morning they emailed me and said because they are in VA (and me) that they would deliver themselves. The gentleman who delivered it to me moved it exactly where I wanted it and set it up....also gave me tips on how not to drown, ha. This business is awesome and would recommend them over any other seller that I've dealt with.

This morning (Saturday) was our first time here, and I ended up purchasing an orange nylon hat that was on sale. All prices for canoes and kayaks are online. The website looks very nice and organized. While looking on the kayak and canoe pages, I noticed several of the popular items would be marked Sold Out. Hopefully, these Sold Out items will become available again. Staff people here at Appomattox River Company were friendly and helpful. It was absolutely worthwhile to visit the various store buildings in person to see what the inventory is like!

Virginia is loaded with amazing places to fish, and only a select few places to find great deals on kayaks. The Hampton's-Appomattox River Company is loaded with various kayaks, friendly & educated staff. Most are experienced kayak anglers who will be happy to offer personal advise. Love this store!!!

Stopped in today and bought 2 Perception 11.5' Tribe Kayaks, could not have asked to have been treated any better, the people there are completely professional, courteous, and have a great amount of knowledge about canoes and kayaks, they are very eager to assist you making a decision and have an unbelievable warehouse full of products. If you are looking for anything canoe or kayak related I highly recommend stopping in or visiting their website.

Great experience and help with purchasing a tandem kayak. When we picked it up the young man helped up load on our car and tied it down tight! Great business and will definitely be recommending in future.

I love their lit up LOVE sign made out of kayaks. I see it every evening when I enter town on my way home.

We traveled from West Virginia to Farmville, VA to pick up an Esquif canoe. We weren't completely decided which model we wanted. The staff was awesome and very accomodating. They gave us their insight and thoughts and we came up with a decision on what model we wanted. After that the staff took their time to get us the right gear w/o breaking the bank. They weren't there to load us up on high dollar gear. I liked that approach. I felt very comfortable dealing with them. I was very pleased with our experience. I highly recommend them.

Top notch outfit. I had been thinking about getting a canoe for a few months. I had done my research online, but that is background info. I try to shop local businesses whenever I can. Stopped by one afternoon to check on the inventory. The staff was very nice and helpful. I got paired with Matt, the resident canoe expert. He asked all the right questions and had me sorted and checking out a selection. Returned in week and bought my first canoe. I'm having a blast so far. Will definitely continue shopping here and recommend to others.

I cannot recommend ARC enough. Easily the best customer service experience I’ve had buying anything in 2022/2023. Vince and Coltin were so awesome to work with. After I mistakenly ordered the wrong color kayak online they made sure I got the color I wanted and got it shipped out to me lightning fast. I had to use a freight service for the shipping because I live so far away and they provided me with detailed instructions and guidance every step of the way. Can’t thank you guys enough!

Owner and staff were excellent. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Very good selection of accessories. Located seconds away from the appomattox river. Their website is kept up to date to show new inventory. Highly recommend!

I went there yesterday to look at 3 diffrent pedal drive kayaks. I was greated on the showroom floor by Parker, a very knowledgable young man. He was able to answer my questions. I bought the Wilderness recon 120 hd and I am looking foward to dealing with him again in the future. They assembled the kayak checked it out in a very timely manor. Absolutely a seamless experience with the Appomattox River Company. I called to confirm inventory on a specific Hobie kayak I wanted as I was 140 miles away and wanted to make sure they had it. From call to arrival, the boat was set up and ready to go in under 4 hours. Parker Long was fabulous. Informative, instructional, covered all features in detail. Offered me a 10% discount on accessories. Walked me through ideas. Loaded the boat in my truck and secured it with rope for my trip home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you visit the store for your next boat. Extremely satisfied customer.

I just wanted to say thank you for the care you put into wrapping your Kayaks for deliveries. After both my husband and I had to refuse a damaged shipment for 2 kayaks from another company, I was apprehensive about ordering at all. Unfortunately, the kayak I wanted was not local, so I had to risk ordering it online again. And I am so glad I did! I can see why it takes you 30 min to wrap a kayak for shipping. It came so well protected with not even a tiny scratch. Also, the customer service is amazing. I called with my shipping concerns and the person was so patient explaining the wrapping process, as well as what to do if I have to refuse the shipment. 10 out of 10- would recommend!

This team works together to make sure every customer is taken care of. The staff had an answer for ever question asked and really took time to talk about every concern I had. Appreciate everything they did for me today.

I bought a couple of kayaks from ARC on line and had a great experience. I ordered them on line and they held them for me for 5 weeks until I could get there to pick them up. When I arrived to pick them up they loaded the boats on my truck and tied them down as well. They did not move the entire 4 hour drive home. I highly recommend them. Very polite and efficient. Nice job!!!
