Gotta say, I’m mightily impressed with Keith. I’d sent a priority express overnight package, and the USPS online tracking was no good: it had the envelope arriving at a location other than the destination with a vague promise that it would then go “out for delivery”. But customer service admitted they didn’t know where it was, and that the tracking was unclear. I sent in a request for follow up through a main USPS number, not really expecting to every hear from them again. But then I got a remarkably detailed and clarifying voicemail message from Keith, explaining every nuance and saying that he’d personally checked and confirmed where it was (delivered). Seriously, he really made an effort to help. I’m grateful.

I worked with Keith, who was patient and offered me multiple options for shipping out of state. He entertained my request for most affordable packaging & told me "if it fits, it ships".
I love that USPS offers so many options from standard flat rate to weighed packages. 📦
I was able to ship a medium sized package for less than $10, saving me over $5 from what I was quoted for smaller packaging at other companies. I am not compromising on time or security, I was still able to save and ship for 3 day delivery with a tracking number. I will definitely be using this location for shipping!

Made a passport appointment online, showed up on time, and was in my appointment within 5 minutes. Virtually no waiting. USPS staff was very knowledgeable, helpful, and problem solved with me. Their copier was broken but they let me run out to get copies. I was in and out in 30 minutes

I have never, ever been to a post office where the people have been as nice to me as the employees are at Lakeside. Due to previous experiences, I go to a post office braced for a struggle - never at Lakeside. As I have moved through the process of planning my wedding, I've had to go to Lakeside for shipping, Save The Date delivery problems and even my passport - every single time I've interacted with anyone, they've been cheerful to the point of seeming like family. It doesn't matter if I'm stressed or there on routine business, staff at every level are friendly and helpful.

Kudos, Lakeside Post Office. Just another reason I love living in this neighborhood.

Needed wedding invitation stamps. This branch was the only one out of 4 in the Richmond, VA area I called that answered the phone.

They were helpful and reserved stamps ready for me to pick up and pay later.
