Wilck's Lake Park

Wilck’s Lake Park is a very scenic area and an asset to the Farmville Community. Farmville Presbyterian Church is having its Sunday service this morning at nearby Wilck’s Lake Isle, and it’s nice to be able to appreciate this outdoors setting. I like the variety of recreational opportunities here. There are some nice things for individuals and groups to do, and it’s wonderful to be able to appreciate the outdoors!

Wilcks lake is a great place to take the kids. It has a great playground with a decent amount of amenities so when it gets busy, all of the kids have a chance to play. There arent any swings, but its still nice. The skatepark is cool, my kids enjoy just running up and down the ramps. Being so close to the trail and library makes going there seem like you have a lot of options to keep the kids busy if you've got an afternoon to kill. LOTS OF GOOSE DROPPINGS! Fishing is good for sunfish and cat fish. Not a ton of bass. Wish there were more. Too many people fish it.

All though a lot people fish here the dwr seems to keep it maintained well. I caught the big sunfish on worm and the white bass on crawl crank bait. But then again it’s fishing not catching. Watch out for the geese there guarding there offspring so leave them alone.

This is our first visit to Farmville! We gave the trail a walk 1.8 miles! Park pretty much had everything! Playgrounds, a wonderful trail, beautiful lake, a little skate park, I could just keep going on and on! Overall just a nice place to spend a couple of hours on a slow Sunday afternoon! The park was very clean and filled with other friendly families! Definitely a destination that we will return to!

We actually we to the Lion's Club park here, which was absolutely fantastic! My 2 year old absolutely loved it and had a fabulous time. Three slides, multiple climbing opportunities and entertainment. We also stopped on our trip back and will 100% stop there on future trips!

Nice short flat trail.

Canoeing the creek works well, unless it is shallow or trees are down.
