This place was unexpected. We enjoyed the meals. The steak is really fresh. The fried mushrooms are delicious. The mashed potatoes and gravy are great. Their soup, bread, salad, everything we tried was fantastic! One thing we loved was how the tables are covered like a wagon. It dampened the sound from other diners, which created a more intimate setting with fewer distractions. Amanda was a sweetheart, too. Most prices have changed so I took images of their current menu.

This local restaurant is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is amazing, you get to eat at a covered wagon table. I recommend the deep fried mushrooms as an appetizer. The prime rib and rib eye steak is amazing. A huge plus is to get a reservation, it gets really busy.

This place is awesome. The bread was so soft and adding honey to it was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. The potato skins we ordered were the best I've ever had!!! Next time I'm in town I will absolutely eat here again.

My family and I are visiting Utah all the way from South Texas, since we have family here. My sisters boyfriend chose our dinner spot and he chose this place. As soon as we showed up, I loved the look of the place. The interior is incredible, with the taxidermy animals and design. The seating area was definitely the best part: the tables designed to look like wagons surrounding multiple taxidermy animals, desert/western outdoor decor and actual small campfires (proper ventilation for the smoke) was absolutely incredible.

Our server was absolutely wonderful as well. I can't remember his name, unfortunately, but he heard my family speak Spanish (our native and main language) and he spoke to us in Spanish as well! He joked with us and made the atmosphere feel even more pleasant and warm. (Not sure if he'll see this, but my father gave him a Mexican pesos bill !! I really do wish I could remember his name)

Overall, this place is absolutely wonderful. This place actually has the best ribs and mashed potatoes I've ever had, and that's coming from a native Texan! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who's nearby.

We're traveling through Utah and my husband picked our dinner spot last night but kept it a surprise. I loved the Prairie Schooner the instant I saw it! Then we stepped inside and that sealed the deal! The seating inside your very own "schooner" is the best. Private and cozy with plenty of lighting but not overly bright. You feel like your dining in the great outdoors... there are even stars above! Our waitress, Cami, was FANTASTIC! We had so much fun with her and she made our evening! Sometimes it's the little things that make a dining experience just right and they nailed them all! They were playing the good old country music from when it was still real country music, the dinner salad was iceberg lettuce not that cheap "spring mix" everyone uses now, it was topped with so many goodies and served on a chilled plate! I love chilled salad plates! That with fresh baked bread was a great start. My husband ordered the halibut and wanted it lightly cooked...Cami made sure she talked with the cook and it came out perfectly cooked to my husband's liking. My BBQ ribs literally fell off the bones. They were tender and tasty. Cami checked on us throughout the meal and never once did we feel rushed. Another thing that amazed me is that the restaurant has been at this location for many, many years but nothing about it felt drab or old! It was clean and well kept. Thank you for a wonderful evening with my husband... and thank you Cami for all the laughs.... Todd and Candi (Apple.... honest!)

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine’s Day last night, and my meal was phenomenal. I ordered the Galveston (which is the 8 oz. Lobster meal, and as noted in the pic, I had already started digging in before I thought to take the picture) I had broccoli and the Au Gratin potatoes. My boyfriend had the 10 oz. steak. I must say, I am so impressed by the lobster. I am someone that loves Red Lobster, but their lobsters they bring you are tiny. The lobster here was much larger and the flavoring was SO delicious. Kudos to The Prairie Schooner for giving delicious lobster of a good size. The sides were really good, too. My boyfriend even commented how the broccoli was so good (and he’s had plenty of “misses” when it comes to broccoli). The waitress, Jennie, was prompt and efficient with a fun personality. Our drinks were good. I only gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was pretty hot in there. Even the light at the table was giving off serious heat. But, I also didn’t say anything about it, at the time. So, wasn’t to the point I wanted to complain about it. And also I don’t like country music and that’s all they played. Although, I do recognize that in a restaurant like that, that it is to be expected. However, I personally would’ve appreciated a mix. But, overall the experience was really great. Would definitely go back.

This place is so insane inside. If you have guests in town you need to take them here. It’s an experience. We had 4 people which was perfect for the wagon booth. Staff is great.

This place is a hidden gem of this town. I seen a tic toc and had to come and check it out for myself. They food was spot on, Kevin our waiter was wonderful and the atmosphere was really cool also. Price wasn't to bad also. Loved the fried mushrooms and there was plenty for our party of 5 . Check this place out of your in town.

This was our first visit to Prairie Schooner and we already look forward to going back. We didn't have reservations but we had no trouble getting a table. The decor is unique with lots of things to look at. We weren't quite ready for dinner so we stopped in and shared an appetizer. We had the loaded potato skins and they were delicious! They also offer a full menu with lots of items to choose from. No matter your preference, there's something for everyone. The customer service was excellent (unlike other restaurants these days!) My parents are coming from out of state to visit for my 50th birthday and I plan on bringing them here for dinner over Labor Day Weekend. I highly recommend giving Prairie Schooner a try!

Great steak house. Very fun atmosphere. You get your own covered wagon to eat in and the decor is as if you are on the trail. Food is very good. Prices on the menu seem expensive, but you get a lot of food for the price. I almost always take home enough for another meal. There is not a lot of vegetarian options on the meal, but if you ask, they will group your choice of side dishes together to make a very good meal. Cheesy broccoli soup is excellent. The bread with the meal is also excellent and fresh.

Fun place with a very unique theme and layout. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The steak was great, nice seasoning and properly cooked. The deep fried mushrooms were absolutely perfect, a must have. The service started out strong, but waned a bit later on. Overall this is a great place to enjoy good food and a different atmosphere. I will be back whenever in Ogden.

I got the steak and shrimp. The shrimp were ginormous and juciy. Not overcooked and crunchy on the outside. The steak was cooked perfectly but needed salt. The decorations were amazing but if taxidermy animals aren't your thing, you should probably skip this place

Really neat experience eating in a covered wagon atmoshere. Service was exceptional. Food was good got fried mushrooms as an appetizer. They give you alot huge portion. Burgers are big , steak is excellent and so are the porkchops. Dessert was chocolate molten lava cake was the best. Also baked cookie was good as any other place. Prices are within reason as anywhere else you would eat for what you get. But the atmoshere is the best.

This place was so much fun. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was great fun. My ten year old had a blast. The food was excellent too. If you have room for dessert, the smore skillet was nothing short of phenomenal.

This place is a great experience. Bring the whole family.

My boyfriend and I recently went to this restaurant, one of his favorites. We were in the area fly-fishing on the Ogden River. I love the atmosphere, the decor and the down home American food. Our waiter Jeremy was fantastic!

This is the place to go if you want a great atmosphere to feel like you're truly dining out in the great outdoors. The food is good and the service we received was some of the best I've had in a long time. Our waiter helped us and made great suggestions. The fried mushrooms are a must along side the potatoes skins. We went for the prime rib and weren't disappointed at all. We're already planning our next date night to go back.
