Great park with a small assortment of nature trails both paved and unpaved along with a bike bath that cuts through. The green sulfur spring is a unique attraction and something to be admired.

Definitely recommend coming here is you enjoy beginner type trails or just being in nature rich areas. Best of all is that it's free.

Green Springs Park is a spot to enjoy a leisurely stroll through nature, and experience a taste of natural Florida, without venturing too far from your vehicle. A covered picnic area is located near the front entrance, next to the parking lot and restrooms. More picnic tables are located next to the playground. Resting benches can be found around the spring-viewing areas and along the nature paths. The springs are alluring, for good reason, but no swimming allowed. When I visited, you could hear children playing (from the playground area) echoing throughout the immediate area, so perhaps not the most quiet destination. However, it’s pretty cool how the playground is nestled within the park with lots of tree cover and shade. I recommend bug repellent, since it started getting buggy (late March).

This is a small public park with a pavilion, picnic tables, small playground, restrooms, several short trails (paved and unpaved), and of course the Green Springs. I enjoyed the hiking trails as they snaked around the peaceful jungle foliage. I had a hard time locating the springs until I found a couple signs. I even saw a small gator floating and sunning itself. It’s also a short easy walk to Lake Monroe for a beautiful view. I’d highly recommend this little park, for its peacefulness, trails, and adventure opportunity.

I really love their playground and the fact that it's shaded. It says it's really meant for 5 to 12 year olds so just keep that in mind parents! The Sulfur Springs of course stink but they're absolutely gorgeous. The trails are beautiful and shaded. I would definitely recommend this place and go here again!

Awesome FREE park to enjoy! Asphalt path for hiking and biking around the park. Nice playground, restrooms, parking lot, benches, and picnic tables. It’s a short walk to the amazing green springs-just watch out for snakes & the alligator, and poison ivy!

Love this park and the trails, truly a local gem! Green Springs often has a little gator there. There is a nice little playground right at Green Springs and a bigger one down the trail, Thornby Park. Right outside of Green Springs is a little farm with English Long Hair Cows.

Lived in Sanford many years as a young adult, didntknow this place existed. Beautiful place to see with a park to ditch the kids provided they are mature eough... walking by myself was a real treat to all the senses. Bring skeeter spray they can be thick. Gorgeous natural foliage.

Green Springs Park is quite magnificent. As our family walk along the trail with our little dog, local celebrity guide Ronnie showed us the waterfalls and playground, lunch tables, and the best view of the springs. Peaceful, serene, and magical. A must-see during your road trip from Jacksonville to Tampa.

Another hidden gem in the area. If you love hiking and nature, this free park is a great spot to come check out! The main attraction here is the spring. The green color is from the large amount of algae and sulphur present. Please do not swim in the water! The sulphur can cause you to pass out, and there are alligators and snakes present. You will also ruin photos by leaving your float behind after you fall into the spring and get eaten by the gators. Big spray is recommended!

Although I was not raised in Florida, I moved here centuries ago and fell in love with state’s springs. This spring is located across the street a bit from from the St. John’s River. I didn’t plan on visiting this spring that day, but did because we wanted to take beautiful photos of my family before my child’s prom.

I didn’t realize that there is so much history about this spring until I began to roam after the photos. I did some research and found that Green Springs Park, nestled in Deltona, is a sanctuary steeped in both history and natural allure. Dating back centuries, and I can’t believe how many centuries, which dates back to the 1800’s. This site has been revered by Native American tribes for its mineral-rich springs, believed to possess healing properties. Over time, it evolved into a popular destination for early settlers seeking respite and rejuvenation.

Did you know that the story of sprayed snails, or more commonly known as the “painted snails,” are an intriguing feature of Green Springs Park? These snails are not naturally occurring; rather, they are an artistic expression left by visitors dating back to the 1900’s who utilize non-toxic, water-based paints to adorn the shells of the snails found in the park. People continue to spray non-toxic shells in honor of the settlers who believed this was a magical place of healing. While some may view this as a form of harmless decoration, others see it as a disruption to the natural environment. Nevertheless, these colorful creatures have become somewhat of a whimsical attraction within the park, adding a unique touch to its landscape and serving as a testament to the creativity and interaction of its visitors.

Settlers were drawn to Green Springs Park in Deltona not just for its picturesque beauty but also for the perceived healing properties of its mineral-rich springs. Indigenous peoples had long revered these springs for their purported ability to cure ailments and promote wellness. Early settlers, influenced by Native American traditions and their own experiences, also came to believe in the therapeutic effects of the springs’ waters. It became a place where people sought relief from various ailments, such as rheumatism, arthritis, and skin conditions. This belief in the healing powers of the springs contributed to the park’s popularity as a destination for health and rejuvenation, shaping its history and significance over time.

Today, Green Springs Park remains a testament to the enduring charm of Florida’s wilderness, boasting lush foliage, serene trails, and the ethereal beauty of its crystalline waters. Its tranquil ambiance invites visitors to explore and connect with nature, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of its past while fostering a sense of wonder and serenity in the present.

It is one mile long and same back and the bike trails connects to both The Florida Coast to Coast Trail and The St. John’s River to sea loop. You might even get to see the old rail road line that traveled through the region connecting its communities.

If you live in the area, are passing by Deltona or are like me, just trying to visit every Florida spring possible, make this stop. It’s just a few miles off of I-4. Don’t forget your bathing suit! If you really put time into discovering the park, you just might find some hidden treasures.

I had a wonderful time here. It's small, but a beautiful spot with lots of trees and trails that lead to the small creeks and the beautiful spring itself! The locals are so lucky to have such a unique place like this nearby.

Very scenic. Nice and short, paved walkway for those unable to walk far but still be able to see nature. Saw lots of fish and even a gator. Stream is pretty neat.

Came here to park for the coast to coast trail and ended up finding another Florida gem. Walking trails, playground for the kids, clean bathrooms and the highlight would be the green spring which is more than 70’ deep.

Wow 🤩
Emerald colored springs and abundant scenery packed into this smaller space.

Saw 2 baby gators up close and personal as they swam in the green springs.

The family has a spot to hangout in the covered pavilions and or a spot on the nice ( new looking ) playground.

The paved and unpaved trails are short but sweet and you can explore off the beaten path a little 🤙
