Ledges Whitewater River Park

Absolutely beautiful!!! Very clean. Dog friendly. What a wonderful fall day in the mountains!!!

Super neat park on the bank of the French Broad River. Plenty of shade or sun--your choice. Picnic tables and benches. Then, there is the river bank to do some wading in the water--like an eddie from a boulder. Read the park rules/ordinances posted near the entrance to parking.

Beautiful picnic area right on the French Broad. Requires stairs to get from the parking lot to the picnic area. Not too crowded. A good number of dogs, but all respectful.

Who would rate this less than a 5? Cute spot to stop and relax. Parking is a pain on the weekend.

So pretty! Right near a main road but all you can hear is the rushing water. Soothing for the soul.

Cool spot with great foliage in the fall. A few little places to sit along the river and maybe a couple of rocks to carefully step on. Kayak/canoe launching point.

Nice spot to come dip in the river or have a picnic! Not much parking tho, but we were able to grab one! Pretty quiet and not over packed

Lots of room to spread out along the river with picnic tables near the parking area. If there are too many people at the picnic area just walk along the Riverside trail to find a spot for yourself. It's a nice place to cool off on a hot day.

Absolutely beautiful and fun spot on the French Broad. Perfect for paddlers who are wanting to test the waters (like I did). You can also float a really short run in a tube. In the summertime, it's relaxing to lounge around the park that has grills and picnic tables available. I enjoy playing in the water with my dog and basking in the sun on one of the large rocks. The absolute perfect "river spot" off the beaten path in Asheville.

Little hidden gem in Asheville; find peace and quiet on the River! Have a picnic or read a book in a hammock. Little trail along the river takes you to more private spots. Experienced Kayakers will be found catching the river here.

Beautiful park to stop and enjoy Mother Nature's gifts and to reflect on Memorial Day.

Hot spot for kayaking and all-around nice place to chill.
