An amazing facility! Great for kids! I was allowed to host a book signing at the facility. Over 880 people visited on Free First Sundays. Books were given away; music was performed! Trust me this is great family fun on a Sunday!

I went to a concert/ art viewing for artist Claudia Hayden here a few weeks ago. My daughter and I had a wonderful evening of fabulous music that bounced off the walls of the museum beautiful. The rest of the museum was closed for the evening, but we will go back to experience it in its entirety during the summer.

What a fun spot for children, young teens, and adults. There was no wait to get in and there's something for everyone. I attended an event for Dr. Rani Whitfield who DJ'd, along with Southern Univ. band members, SU Cheerleaders, the symphonic group, Rodney Harris and others performed. But while there I visited many of the exhibits and rooms. It was my first visit as I live out of town, but I highly recommend visiting this gem!

We had a great time here with the whole family. My little one LOVED the Sesame Street planetarium show and everyone loved the children’s section. We are looking forward to visiting again when the renovations are done. And I hope the museum will figure out a way to make ticket prices accessible to all!

I have been a patron of LASM for more than 15 years. My kids have outgrown the museum, but I have plenty of family members with little ones, so I still patronize the museum. I love the art, exhibits, discovery play room, and the planetarium. The first Sunday of the month is free for the entire family. It is one of the best family-friendly activities in town for those who like to learn and play.

This is a wonderful museum and the planetarium was a great experience for the kids and adults. Great for small groups. Visit the gift shop where they sell beautiful souvenirs. Great view of the Mississippi!

Good for it's size. We went for one of the planetarium shows but weaved around the art and othe museum displays. The mummy to me was the most interesting as was the hunk of Iron that you were allowed to touch. Then we saw the train pass by and watched from one of the windows near the flower lithography prints. The show we saw was about Saturn, but the filmmaker felt it needed context. However I felt their idea of "context" went a little too far outside of the Saturn mission.

We had a great time at the museum today. Today was Dino day. We enjoyed all of the exhibits. We learned some new things and got a lot of goodies. This was an awesome event. We enjoyed our movie in the planetarium.

This experience was amazing! My kids & husband enjoyed everything. We went on the first Sunday so it was free to get in. It was all fun, best part was the theater and movie. I would recommend everyone bring their kids however my kids have been already asking to go back !

I went here today on a field trip with my first grade child. The staff was so welcoming and organized from the beginning. They were ready and waiting for us. More than one school showed up for a field trip on the same day. But we were never crowded or rushed through because they split us up and smaller group good. The lady who narrated the planetarium was incredible. She was so great with the kids. Children were everywhere and the staff was always patient and kind. The children learned so much while they were there... My son is especially interested in space and dinosaurs so he was thrilled. Just can't say how impressed I was because the staff was incredible. I even told them several times how great they were. Best school field trip I've been to in a while.

Just amazing buildings & structures. I was on time crunch so only had time to admire the scenery. Photo worthy definitely.

The family took advantage of the Museum being free the first sunday of each month. So we toured the whole thing and had a blast. My 8 year old couldve enjoyed it all day long. My 4 and 6 year olds really like the space exhibits and seeing the MUMMY in egypt exhibit! They didnt allow pics of the mummy sorry. But this not the only free thing downtown Baton Rouge. In feburary we saw USS Kidd free of charge as well. Next month we might check out old state capital. ( not sure how 4 y.o. will enjoy that one)

So worth it to be a member. I especially love the Art After Hours program, which usually includes a chance to meet and speak with the artist currently on exhibit.

Amazing place. Last time I went was in the early 90s. The exhibits they had, this time were great and you have to see a planetarium show, if you go.
