Phil's Tara Hideaway

After visiting a few times, I can safely say that Phil's deserves 5 stars! Everything has been so good 👍👍. The Brie Burger is the best burger I have had in recent memory. A+.

Incredible 🤌 had the house steak & mushrooms so good, Brussel sprout appetizer was awesome, broccolini was great. Smashed potatoes weren’t my favorite but still good.

We dined at the bar and had great service.

10/10 will be back! Love the Mediterranean flare!

Wow, is I can say! This little place is great! It's pretty small on the inside, but the food and service is fantastic! The burger and fries I had were insanely good! The kind of burger that melts in your mouth. My husband had a burger and little potatoes as well and my son had Greek fettuccini. It was all very very good! The prices I thought were really good as well. $80 for three people to eat and 4 beers. The waiter was very helpful and efficient. Just a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend you check it out! Go, go now!

This about our 8th visit,(maybe more)over about a 4 year time frame.
We come to Stillwater for our yearly getaway, (we stay a week at Ann Bean Mansion B&B).
We have never been disappointed with, service, food, or value.
Scallops are melt in your mouth delicious, steak tender, very flavorful, perfect seasoning.
Everything is delicious.
We tell friends, people we meet through outside acquaintances, customers at my job, my husband tells his coworkers, and clients about this gem.

The food here is absolutely incredible, some of the best food I've ever had. And the staff? Absolutely incredible as well. I don't know how the staff manages so well with how busy it is and how cramped it is inside this place. I'm giving the food and service 5 of 5 stars, and the atmosphere a 2 of 5. If you get overwhelmed like I do in small, tight, noisy, hectic environments, then I'd suggest take it out. The amount of people they pack into such a small place makes it hard to hold a conversation.

The food is incredible though. I had the grilled octopus and the gyro sandwich. My friends had the pork chop and walleye. All of it was phenomenal, as well as all the sides. The staff does an amazing job considering how busy it is and that there is so little room to move about. I went Friday at 7:30pm. Maybe if you go for lunch on a weekday it will be a bit more reasonable of an atmosphere there.

This place is a must try if you haven’t! The ambiance, the cocktails and the FOOD!!! The wait staff and owners are incredibly helpful, social and just fun to be around. I look forward to every trip. We returned in 2014 to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. My review is the same as stated below when we can for our 29th Anniversary. This has to be one of the best restaurants in Stillwater with reasonable pricing.

We came to Stillwater to stay at a local B & B and of course, dinner at Phil's Tara Hideaway to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. You will not be disappointed no matter your reason for dining. Exceptional food and service. I had the Tara Steak and my wife had the small sirloin. Both were cooked to order and perfection. The salted baked potato and the mashed are both good. We came on a Sunday early evening and it was no problem getting a nice seat at the window near the fireplace. The quaaintness of the log cabin feel is romantic.

Definitely a place to visit. One of my wifes favorite spots for Prime Rib and one of my favorite spots for american/greek dishes. The Athenian potatoes are the bomb!

Not a big place, so it fills up fast on a busy Friday and Saturday night. Easier to get in if it's just two people.

Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it.

I went Friday night. It was super busy, we had a 45 minutes wait. But it was worth it. I got grilled lamb chops with a side of scallops and it was divine. Everything melted in your mouth. Highly recommend.

This is the place to order a great quality steak with the mushrooms and onions for sure! Many seafood options and we were seated IMMEDIATELY despite it being pretty busy during prime time dinner hours. The staff was timely and worked in tandem perfectly.

We love this place. The NY strip was superb, as was my wife's ribeye. Kelly made the night! She was a hoot and very attentive. Glad we came back!

Wonderful food, drinks and service. This is a quality restaurant. We had a couple cocktails each, appetizers and wonderful meals. Other than a little crowded (that says a lot for a Wednesday night), everything was top rate.

This is the kind of place that I love! Unique atmosphere, great, service, and excellent food. Had the Lobster bisque and grilled octopus for an app- amazing! For entree I had the duck with potato gnocchi and it was outstanding. I never would have expected to have some of the best cooked duck in a log cabin! I'm so glad I found this place and I will definitely be back.

My dad and I came here for a late dinner on a Sunday night, and the place was almost packed. They have amazing flavor in all of their dishes, and a wide variety of them too. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts! I got the mojo verde pork tenderloin, and it was so tender and delicious. I had to get boxes for both dishes but they warmed up really nicely. The bartender Jackson is very nice and very good at what he does. They have some fun drinks! The almond joy cocktail was very sweet and great to have as a post dinner dessert. My dad enjoyed some dirty martinis. Excited to come back and try more. It is expensive, but the food is less expensive than some restaurants in downtown Stillwater, and 10x better in my opinion.

I absolutely fell in love with this place! The food was spectacular, the cocktails were awesome, the staff is so fun and amicable, and the atmosphere is perfect. Will be going back again and again, I can't recommend it enough!

This is easily my favorite restaurant in all of Minnesota. Excellent cozy vibe great staff and amazing food! My wife and I go here every chance we get and have been for 14 years and counting!

Love this place. The combination of supper club dishes and atmosphere with Greek fare is a delight. Service is always super. The only way this place could improve is the addition of a patio. Love the fish fillet with hazelnuts and the baklava.

Been eating here many many years for special occasions, still the best Prime Rib around. Anything on the menu still great.
Not for special occasions anymore. Now we stop in about 3-4 times a month now.

For drinks we had the Greek godfather and pomegranate martini. Both were excellent. For appetizers we had roasted feta and some champagne shallot mignonette oysters. The feta was out of this world! The oysters were very fresh good. We shared a house Greek salad the was very good too. For dinner we had the Greek fettuccine and the taste of Greece platter. Both dinner were amazing. The service was excellent. Couldn't ask for a better experience!!!

THE best food in the twin cities. We visit here at least once a month and explore the menu. Prime rib is on a whole new level. Staff are very friendly. Very cozy atmosphere. My favorite spot to eat.
