Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream - St. Louis

I'll be honest, me 3 years ago would have never gone here, but now as a father, this place has exactly the vibe I need. It's like an 80s time capsule and in the best way possible. And to top it off, the pizza was solid. Try the Mexican or their house special.

We were here for a 6 year old's birthday party. It's small enough to where you can kind of just let the kids run off and still keep a decent eye on them. Beer on draft and fountain soda to keep everyone happy. We were doing pitchers.

Only about a dozen actual games. You can win tickets to trade in for a prize. Skeeball is one of them.

Big enough parking lot all around to handle all patrons.

This great, little pizza place has been one of our “go-to” places for pizza with the kids for years. The pizza is good. Try the taco pizza - it’s surprisingly delicious. While you wait for your pizza , head over to the video games. They have just the right amount of video games. Plus you can collect tickets to win prizes. The kids love it!

This is a fun place for the extended family to get together. While the kids play video games, the adults can bond over a pitcher of beer. 👍🏼

First time here, I can't believe I've missed out on this place for years now! They offer crusts that aren't just St. Louis style, yay! The pizza is supper tasty and the sauce isn't super acidic like a lot of places. The dough was soft and also flavorful. The toppings we're plentiful and they dice up a lot of the toppings which is great for kids but I also like the texture it gives and they were fresh. The dessert pizza we got was an apple crumble with huge slices of apple, the whole family loved it. Oh yeah, they also have all kinds of arcade games for the kids that give tickets to buy prizes, super fun for everyone!! The owner and staff were super friendly and I wish the owner many future decades of prosperity. We will be going back very soon.

I’m going 5 stars for the following reasons:

Despite being busy the staff was friendly.
They keep the restaurant clean. Even the games.
All of the games worked.
The pizza is surprisingly good and they don’t skimp toppings.
The prices are good.
Lastly, the bathroom was clean!!

We had a good time with the family and will be back.

I love Happy Joe’s Taco Pizza!! Make sure to try their hot sauce too!!

Then of course you can get some ice cream for dessert!! My favorite was the blueberry cheesecake ice cream cone!

Bring the kids because they got lots of games where they can collect tickets fir prizes!

Bring a designated driver because they serve alcohol!! Best of both worlds for kids & adults!!

Also check out their buffet if you want to try a little bit of everything! They have a salad bar for you people on diets!

This is the place the locals go as opposed to the major rodent-based competetor. My daughter loves the games because the give out lots of tickets, which makes kids think they really won something. The pizzas are actually good too. A plain pepperoni is enjoyable, but they are known for the mexican pizzas and sauce

I am 57 yrs old. I have been eating Happy Joe's since I was 9. I use to love to stand on the steps so I can watch them make the pizzas.. This is what I wanted to be when I grew up, a pizza maker. Till this very day they have the best pizza in town. They use to came in 2nd to Shakey's pizza that was located in St. Ann.(cornmeal is thier secret ingredients for for extra crispy pizza crust) Mary Fielding once interviewed me in 1993 on small mom and pop businesses. 🍕 🍕 🍕

Best taco pizza! BBQ was good as well. Super happy to see this local treasure still around and open especially during the Rona.

Consistently good. Go early to beat the crowd. Def check out the lunch buffet or hit it M-TH for dinner.

Only complaint is they listed peppermint as their ice cream flavor of the month and tried to tell me mint chocolate chip is the same thing. Um...no. They're completely different. Fix that nonsense.

Excellent pizza and lovely, homey atmosphere! Customer service was also great - all smiles. The "family night" special on Monday/Tuesday is also a great deal!

Got my favorite 1/2 taco, 1/2 kraut & canadian bacon and as good as always! Keep this iconic restaurant in Affton.

Had a birthday party here for our mom for about 30 people. 10 pizzas were at our table before we knew it and tasted amazing! Everyone raved about the taco pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza. The kids had fun playing games and we were all able to talk comfortably. The staff was very nice throughout. Thanks for a nice evening!

I do love happy Joe's I have since I was a little kid. There taco pizza can not be beat no matter where you go and there regular just cheese or pepperoni can give any pizza hut or domino's a run for there money. My pizza's always prepared when they say but, one thing that almost made me give them 4 stars is it seems like they changed up there taco pizzas ingredients. I still loved so I still gave them a five and I usually don't dine in but, it's an amazing place to bring your kids and easily spend a couple hours the kids would love it.

The taco pizza me and my girl had was amazing. It's not the best pizza I ever had, but it's certainly delicious and fun to eat. Highly recommend.
Small little spot for the family and children. A few amazing games to play and dollar ice cream scoops!! Affordable and delicious. It's like a smaller version of chuck e. Cheese. 5/5 great place to eat for pizza:)

Our visit to the pizza parlour was excellent. I was first hesitating to go over there reading the reviews. My experience was great . We ordered the taco supreme and the BLT . The chips lettuce tomato and chips plus the sour cream it was excellent. It was my kids birthday they did sang bday song at the table along with the siren. The staff was really friendly. The place was clean and tidy did saw employees vacuuming the carpet and cleaning . Overall great experience.

The pizza was so amazing, i have been coming to this location since i was 8 years old. Let me start my saying this the new GM is very nice and helpful. I enjoy being here because it’s always given me good vibes all of the employees are amazing people! They have done a lot to make this place look better by cleaning up and being a little more swift. Also the food got to me in a very fast manner i asked my waiter if i could have parmesan cheese and he was very swift. I got a simple cheese pizza and they do it right! you can’t mess up a cheese pizza and these guys really know what they are doing. They also have a great little arcade with lots of fun games! I truly do recommend Happy Joes in Afton. Overall it’s a great hangout spot a great spot for little kids and quite frankly for all ages!!

This is that little slice of child hood innocence I remember so fondly.The pizza was phenomenal and they had games and you can win tickets and cash them in for prizes....it was AWESOME, I felt like I was 10all over again.

I had a group of about 25 adults have a work party here and it was fantastic. It was my first time in so I was worried it would feel too juvenile but it still was a hit! The food was pretty good and the staff was all very kind and helpful and did such a great job every step of the way, from reservations to serving to clean-up.

A complete staple of child hood goodness. Great pizza always a fun atmosphere. There is literally always a birthday party there. It’s so much fun as an adult to see the kids doing just what I did. Oh and who can forget the originators of Taco Pizza!!!

Best place in town for Pizza and Salad buffet with a game area for the kids. It can get a bit crowded at times with birthday parties for the kids, but that is to be expected. It's just nice being able to have a variety of different pizza slices for dinner instead of just one flavor like you would get with carry out or home delivery from the other pizza places.
