Mountain Fried Chicken

Really good fried chicken: crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The sides and rolls are good, too. Did not have room for a cobbler or banana pudding. Family friendly. Counter order, with nice service. Basic 1970s dining room could use some updates.

Just tried for the first time 45 minutes ago. EXTREMELY happy with everything mostly. I had the four-piece chicken dinner, which was two thighs and two legs, and my sides were pinto beans and the mac-and-cheese. The chicken was beyond perfect…scrumptious!! The pinto beans also were excellent; not everybody can season a pot of beans successfully, but they can. My only ding is the mac, which was a reddish color, and miles from the rich, creamy, cheesy noodles I expect when I think mac-and-cheese. However, although I won’t ever order it again, I did manage to eat quite a bit of it…something kept me going back in. I also got a side of chicken livers, and devoured them right away. They were fried beautifully, and seasoned perfectly.

So, overall my experience was five star, I was in and out in a flash, the place was clean, cozy and comfy, the staff were amazing, the prices were good, and my food was delicious. I’ll definitely go back.

Year later review... food still just as good. First time through drive through was flawless, went inside to get something else and took a while. Still very worth the visit.

Place never disappoints. Had several of the moose combos with plenty of dipping sauces and wedges. Chicken never feels overly greasy and is always a quick meal to feed a family.

My family loves, loves, loves some mountain fried chicken!! They have some amazing mac and cheese and peach cobbler, too! If you haven't tried mountain fried, you're missing out! They also cater too! You can call ahead and order if you have a bigger order as well!
The service here is top notch and you don't get that from many places these days!

The food was delicious as always but I did notice that I only had a few potato wedges.

The chicken here is some of the best in the triad and was also founded in Winston-Salem. Definitely suggest if you're from out of town to give this place try. The restaurant is usually pretty clean. I got the snack as I have pictured in this review, it's a pretty big portion of food for a little over $10, and its plenty enough to share between 2 people.

Some of the best fried chicken 🍗🐔 and wings along with Southern sides like 🥔 potato wedges, greens, green beans, slaw, mac and cheese, and great desserts like cobblers and 🍌 banana pudding. The staff are friendly, they have a drive through, and ♿ handicap accessible parking, 🚻 restrooms, and seating.

Just passing through and decided to stop. Not disappointed at all. The chicken breast was cooked done and ... NOT GREASY as advertised. 👍 I ordered the turnip greens. Perfect. Not overly salted. Same for the home fries. Good job Mountain Fried Chicken!

Best chicken wings and wedges, the batter they use is sooo good. I also love their mamas mac n cheese, very yummy. Great friendly, fast staff. Clean, Very good Health score thats recent!!

Hands down the BEST fried chicken there is! And the potato wedges are amazing! We often get this on our way home from church on Sundays. Quick and delicious meal without breaking the bank!

it's been a while but MFC was a regular stop for chicken and fries, with corn, and sweet tea. It's a great value for what you receive and not crazy like the chain restaurants. I think the Clemmons location closed and this on eis the better of the three.

Always so good. The only place my husband and I will go for Chicken Wings. Wish they had one in Kernersville. But, well worth the drive.

I didn’t realize how much I missed their food. This was the first time eating here since before the pandemic and I have to say you didn’t let us down! I had the Chicken breast, mashed potatoes and a roll and it was just as good as before!
