Alpen Restaurant & Bar

My wife and I decided to get a drink on Beech and really wanted a view. We stopped at the new location for the Alpen Restaurant (shared building with Bullwinkels Pizza) and decided to sit outside on their deck that overlooks the slope. They have a great bourbon selection and we settled on a couple of Buffalo Trace cocktails on the rocks. We were hungry and ordered the spinach & artichoke app…wow, it was fantastic!!! Great experience and the staff was really nice. They are expanding too, building a larger dining room. This is really worth a visit if you are up on Beech.

Been there years ago n it was fantastic...had the same experience tonight: food was delicious, margaritas 🍹 on point! Service immaculate: our server was fantastic n very sweet! Not crowded! Everything was perfect as before! We had crab soup n calamari as appetizers, my main course was linguine w shrimp n hubby got the trout! Everything perfect! I will be back for sure!

We enjoyed a romantic, unexpected dinner here last night (due to the winter storm that delayed our trip home). The pecan encrusted trout (minus honey) and salmon were fabulous, as were the carrots and other sides!

Thoroughly loved eating here. Food and service is very good!!!

We also love the fact that they feed the deer and they are so fun to watch.

My go to place for great food and service. Steven and Brook, Haley always provide the best service! Food is the best on the mountain, trout, salmon, crab soup, wedge, list goes on... Just delish!!!

We stayed on Beech Mtn and I was definitely not eager to go back down the mountain just to eat. So relieved to find the Alpen close by. Brooke was our server and doubled as our tour guide when she answered so many of our questions about the area. Food was delicious…(crab bisque, yum) and Steve and Brooke were above our expectations. Hope we get to go again in the future. Highly recommended

I wish we were spending more time in Beech Mountain to be able to return here. We came in for a few drinks, sat at the bar. We were one of a few people in there when we first walked in but every table was set and had a reserved sign on it. We ordered a crab cake to share, you can always tell how good a restaurant is by their crab cake, and it did not disappoint. The menu said pan seared but it was deep fried and I was very okay with that. It was delicious!

Always love going to Alpen Restaurant and Bar. It feels so cozy when you walk in. The food here is wonderful!!! The pecan trout is one of my favorites! Better to make a reservation ahead of time, especially during their busy season. During the summer time, I love their live outdoor music on Sunday evenings! The deer will be out walking around and there's always a lovely sunset and cool breeze! Bring your own chair or use one of the many set out!

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Aspen R&B. The mountain view from the dining area was beautiful! I highly recommend the trout- it was cooked to perfection. And the servers were very kind! We would definitely visit again on our next Beech Mtn trip.

The food was excellent. Lemon garlic trout was cooked perfectly.

Three of us went here tonight and we really enjoyed it! All 3 of us had the crab bisque and it did not disappoint, delicious! We also had the shrimp cocktail. My 2 sons had lemon trout, I had the filet steak. Everything was great. Our server Brooke was on the money and cute as a button :-)

Probably best place to eat on the mountain. A little more expensive and formal than other local places, but super cozy. I had the Surf & Turf. The steak (medium rare) was cooked perfectly. I also recommend the crab bisque. Both my wife and I enjoyed it. Service was stellar, too.

We had a very enjoyable experience last night. I've been trying to get a reservation for a while now. I appreciate that they do not fill the place

Amazing food. Great service. I would recommend to make reservations prior going over there. I had the crab bisque...man that was delicious! And it is not crazy expensive. If you are in Beech Mountain, stop by!

Excellent view! Food is great if you go when tourist are in town. I own a cabin here, so I dont go unless I know it's a busy time and they have prepped well. We had a nervous waitress who rushed us to turn over her table, but that can be handled by additional training.

Bullwinkle's pizza is the best in town. Yummy!
