Sorrento's Italian Bistro

Fantastic experience tonight for Valentines. After an awful travel schedule we got to Sorrento’s 20 minutes before the restaurant closed hoping to still have a romantic meal. We were promptly seated and served, and treated to a fantastic meal. Jason was our bartender and not only did he make the best old fashioned I’ve ever had, his service and recommendations were superb. All around the best service I’ve received in quite some time. A++

Nice restaurant in the Banner Elk area in NC mountains. This place has multiple rooms with each room a different theme. One is a romantic, more formal room, next is a wine room, one is a tasting room and one is a Bistro style room where we eat.
Menu in all rooms are the same except for the tasting room.
We went with two options, the calamari salad and I went with the Chicken Parmigian over veggies.
August, our waiter was extremely attentive, and the manager Felton kept checking to make sure all was going well. The food was good and fresh. Was it the best I have had? No, however, for a place up in the mountains with such a great menu, wine list, and service, this place gets 5 stars from me. I think my wife would have asked for the calamari sautéed.
but it came fried, and we went with it. nice and fresh! One thing I missed was the outdoor seating option, which we skipped as these FL folks were too cold.

Came here on a Saturday night. Was able to make reservations that afternoon. We were seated right away. It did take some time for us to be seen by our waiter, but he had a large party which he was taking care of at the time. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Sorrento Eggplant. The sauce was wonderful. The garlic knots were delightful. Not horribly expensive, especially in a tourist town.

Definitely we enjoyed the time! Delicious crab cake, meatball, calamari with an amazing wine. The server did an excellent job, sadly I don’t remember his name 😞

This restaurant has grown into an entire food center with diferent class levels, all the way to members only area. The food that we had was amazing!

Very good atmosphere, the lunch menu is small, but with very good quality. The tomato sauce is fantastic very fresh, and reminded me of the ones I had in Rome.

It's a bit pricey but well worth it. Ordered the meatball as an appetizer and it was the size of a small melon. Had the eggplant with prosciutto as my meal and couldn't finish it because the portion size was huge. It heated well in the oven the next day. The bartender was a sweetheart and took great care of us. Atmosphere was cozy and really pretty. Overall a really nice experience. Would definately go back.

Lorelei was a gracious hostess and communicative as to status of our table. Tyler was a fabulous server who was not only attentive and professional, but proactive when considering our needs. The food was absolutely delicious. The meatball appetizer (large enough to share) a feast for the eyes and tummy (love how fresh the ricotta was!) and given the size of the meatball, the fact that it was cooked to perfection and retained an amazing texture and flavor - true artistry. My husband could have made a meal of the garlic rolls - so fresh, light and delicious. We ended our meal with the cheesecake....c'mon - generous slice and fresh and delicious. Sorrento's you make it hard to eat at home, no matter the weather condition ;)

Amazing food, huge portions. The staff was very attentive, the manager was very friendly and accommodating. We will be back every year when we visit! 100% would recommend!

Dined here on a whim & was completely surprised at how extravagant everything was. We ordered the chicken parmigiana & a dinner special only available in our fancy room of Grouper. The food did not disappoint, although both proteins were a bit dry. Our service was outstanding and I would definitely recommend!

From the moment we step into this restaurant the customer service was nothing less but perfection. Everyone took the time to assist me getting in and out the restaurant and made my dining experience the best. Our server Allen was top tier. He took his explaining entree’s and drinks. Next time we are in the area we WILL EAT HERE!!! Thanks to the entire staff at Chefs Table at Sorrrentos. I want to especially thank Felton for his help, kindness, and concern for my party, the entire team was phenomenal 🖤

What a dynamite meal that we had. Both the chicken francese and chicken marsala were outstanding. The chicken was pounded out, perfectly cooked and tender. The mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables were excellent. The atmosphere was comfortable and classy. And the service was excellent.

We ate there last night and Caleb, our bartender, was absolutely fantastic. Top tier service and phenomenal conversation. The food and wine were also incredible.
I highly recommend the Artichoke Francese. Caleb arranged another reservation for us this evening but unfortunately my husband doesn’t feel well so we aren’t going to be able to dine there again this trip, but all in all, I can not recommend Sorrento’s enough. Caleb truly made our experience memorable and we will be back!

Seated immediately upon arrival! From start to finish a great dinner and experience! Everyone's dish (for 11 people) was perfect! A fabulous dinner for my child's 16th birthday!!!!!

I absolutely love this Bistro. The folks there are very nice and accommodating. They were able to sit my party of 13 at short nice in their beautiful wine seller room. The food and service was impeccable. I love taking my groups to this hidden gem in NC Mountains. I can't wait to get back so we can enjoy more wine and more food.

It was two hours wait when we visited Saturday night. We decided to sit at the bar which was first come first serve. The pizza came out pretty fast and they were pretty tasty! We ordered their signature pizza. A little on the saltier side but we all liked it.

5 yrs later & we are still enjoying dining at Sorrentos. Lately we’ve been dining in Primo which part of Sorrentos (use to be the Barra). Food is wonderful and drinks are perfect. I enjoy the glitzy decor which is different than anything my pretty muted world. It’s like a bit of Vegas in Banner Elk. 2019: It’s our go to for our Italian fix, whether it’s for pizza or entrees. I like the decor and the staff is always attentive and friendly. The make good drinks as well. If you’re dining on weekend or peak times I’d call ahead or Open Table for a reservation.

We ate at this restaurant while attending an event in Linville. The food was very delicious and cooked very well. What’s more, the chef accommodated a custom request which also turned out amazing!! I enjoyed the Crab cake as an app and the Frutti De Mare for my entre (along with a couple glasses of wine). Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

We made a reservation online for 3pm and arrived shortly before. The hostess informed us they closed from 3-4pm daily … the manager overheard and took care of us! I enjoyed a glass of own and delicious pizza. The staff and food were amazing!

Had a delicious meal at Sorrento's Italian Bistro - Trout and Veal Franchise, served with mashed potatoes and a medley of fresh squash. Dessert was a creamy Cheesecake with Raspberry drizzle. Our server Ann was a joy, professional and knowledgeable regarding menu choices. Hope to go back again when we are in Banner Elk
