Lake Hickory Haunts

Took my daughter for her 1st ever haunt. We had such an amazing time! We drove 2 hours from Virginia to get there and it was so worth it!! It did not disappoint at all, if anything it truly exceeded my expectations!! I can’t wait to return next year! The actors and staff are wonderful and there’s definitely something somewhere lurking in the darkness to give u a scare before you’re done! Hands up the best I’ve ever been to!

Really impressive. Worth the drive from Charlotte. Not the scariest attraction I've been too, but everything else was top notch, perhaps one of the best I've ever been to. The set designs and the costumes were well done. The foot flow of traffic was excellent. The midway was exceptional. The actors were all really solid and energetic.(that's not easy to maintain their level over the course of an evening/season) We just loved the blend of elements (smells, sights, sounds). The use of the terrain was really well thought out/planned. I started a haunted farm in Mooresville back in 2007, and I recall how important it was to understand pumping as many people through per hour, without causing issues for the customers while waiting in line too long. I could go on and on, but just go and see for yourself.

WOW! The most intense, scariest, & amazing experience. My son & I bravely made it threw all 13 haunted attractions. He said he had the best birthday date ever!

This is one of our favorites in the area so far. We drove 3 hours to visit this haunt. The local area is beautiful and it was a nice visit to Hickory. Parking is $5 or free if you have 5 people or more. The parking is well organized and easy unlike some others we have done. Security was amazing thank you for keeping us safe. No smoking allowed! We appreciate that aspect of safety nobody wants to smell it or be burnt by someone smoking. If you can’t go without smoking for a couple hours then that’s on you, not us or this company. They don’t what their hard work being burnt down. The midway where you wait is fun, you can do activities or eat or just hang and dance to the music. Port o potties but they are lighted so that’s a bonus. Once we got called to get in line we entered the ghost town, so cool. We waited in an actual line for maybe 20 minutes. We waited before that for about an hour. The trail took about 30 minutes for us to do. We were never rushed and it was so cool. We never ran into another group in the haunts only at the parts where they queue you again. It was so cool tho and so well put together. The land layout and the lake wow. Loved it and my kids loved it too. Thank you! It was a good crowd too never felt unsafe. We visited Friday the 13th.

This place was awesome. Would give 10 stars if I could. The dedication the actors had to scaring you and staying in character was phenomenal. All the props and decorations were very realistic. There was lots of great areas in midtown to take photos with the actors. I Like how they have small attractions to do while you wait to enter the haunted houses. These actors know how to make you jump. I would see them coming and somehow they would catch me off guard and make me jump. Will make this place a must go to every year! Only complaint was they only had Porta potty. With the amount of space and the time you are waiting on your que a real bathroom with a sink and soap would be a great addition.

1st time visiting. We opted for VIP because I don’t care for lines. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. We were able to walk right on the trail with no wait. I have only been to Universal Orlando for haunted houses so the bar is set pretty high for me. They are just as good in my opinion. Well worth the visit.

Hands down the best haunted house in NC definitely worth the drive! The staff was very welcoming and nice. Such a fun time and the set up and details was amazing and costumes were great all of it !! I did scream quite a few times. I will definitely be going back next year !! I loved it! Great job to all of you that work there and thank you for making me smile and laugh and scream !! High five guys!!! You all are awesome ❤🖤

We attended last night and it was phenomenal! It was nice to see security/police multiple places and we felt when we walked in that they did a good job to make it a safe attraction. The midway has food and drinks and quite a few things to do like games, even a mini escape room which we enjoyed! It’s really cool how they made all of these attractions on the side of a lake! All of the houses were very theatrical and immersive! Our favorites were voodoo because of the feeling of being up in the trees and big top circus! All in all this attraction is worth it and so much fun! I am a little claustrophobic and I never felt uncomfortable in any of these attractions. We didn’t want it to end, add another house for next year! 😆 but very well thought out, great make up on the actors, well done.

Fantastic night of family fun, you will not want to miss it. Very well done, professional all-around great staff and great facilities. This was our third year visiting Lake Hickory Haunts, we will definitely come back again this season!

I’m a true Halloween enthusiast and make it a point to only visit the top-tier haunted attractions. Being from the Charlotte area, you have to make the drive to get scared because the ones around here just don’t do it for me. Lake Hickory Haunts never fails to impress me, each and every year they always go above & beyond the competition, offering something new & fresh every Fall season that keep me coming back for more!🎃These guys who started in 2012 go head to head with those other haunts that have been at it for 30+ years, and are hands down 10/10🔥. They claim they are the best in the Carolina’s and believe you me, they are and then some! I love the fact that I don’t have to make the long drive to Netherworld in Atlanta anymore because the same quality is provided by LHH, just an hour and a half away from home. The advantage you have over others is of course the lake which gives off such an eerie vibe and takes you back to those “Friday the 13th” type movie scenes. From the moment you step into the parking lot, you began to see the fog rise up from the lake and lights shining through the woods as you hear the screams off in the distance… you know you’re in for a night of hella fun. We immediately got in the gate with ease, and it all was such a smooth operation for such a massive haunt. As always the gift shop was loaded with souvenirs and awesome props.The car from the “Supernatural” show was cool and I enjoyed the photo ops. The pirate ship dj booth inside the “Midway of Mayhem” was a hit just like 2022. This is a truly professional production with everything a haunted attraction should have in order to make it the very best in the nation!!! Make no mistake, the creators of LHH are the “crème de le creme” in the haunt industry and their hard work never goes unnoticed.The VIP Pass grants you immediate access, is highly recommended due to the crowds, and is totally worth the $$$. The Midway of Mayhem looks better than ever and the addition of the “Ghost Town” is incredible. I can only imagine this is what the Wild West was actually like. This year I have to say that the “Big Top Circus” blew my mind the most with the huge expansion, but most importantly the lovely aroma of cotton candy! The characters do such an excellent job of interacting with and scaring the guests. Wherever you are, you never know what’s lurking around the corner! You guys offer so much “bang for your buck”, a total immersive world of spooky entertainment for sure. The full-on haunt experience lasts about 45 min-1 hour depending on quick you move through the mazes, and the 11 areas are interconnected, with themes flowing flawlessly from one to the next. From the perfectly timed jump scares from highly trained actors + original characters with amazing costumes + make-up, to the ultra realistic animatronics, special fx, unbelievable sets & props, this place has it all, it’s ALL about the DETAILS!!! Even as we were leaving an employee asked for our feedback so I wanna commend you on your tremendous dedication to customer service. I’ve been telling my friends about LHH for years and they finally got to see it in person, they loved it. It was all pure SMILES and LAUGHS😊. 2023 is the year for Lake Hickory Haunts and the best one yet. A big kudos to the owner Ryan and his amazing team @ Lake Hickory Haunts! Thank you for the thrills and scares.

My first time going to haunted place during Halloween season. I had an amazing time, it was definitely was worth driving from Charlotte. Impressive decorations and execution of spooky moments. Actors outfits and act was great.

SOOOO worth the 2 hour drive from Columbia SC. I've been to most of the haunted houses down our way and Lake Hickory Haunts is Definitely TOP NOTCH!! The atmosphere, the actors and the set ups were amazing! We had so much fun and will be back for sure!

Incredible setup and experience with a series of scary rooms and scenery. They also have options for food and drinks, a great holding area with a firepit, and activities like ax throwing and coffin rides. Boo!

Fun, fun, fun!! Lots to see & lots of pictures taken. It's definitely "NOT scary," rated PG. I want to take the grandchildren. They'll love it.

I can't believe I've been local to this amazing attraction & never have been until this year!! I HAD SOO MUCH FUN! the wait is a bit lengthy, but 100% worth it with all of the things to do & characters to see!! tons of room to hangout, tables & food at the concessions. we went on Friday the 13th, met jeepers creepers, as well as Jason!
the treehouse & the circus part were my absolute favorites, it was insanely beautiful!! bit of if a walk at some points, wear comfy shoes &outfits.
I also really loved that the ower was always seen helping& engaging with his employees to make sure everyone has the best experience! LOVE LOVE LOVE will be back 1000/10⭐

I didn't have much knowledge about it before I went. To be honest, the $32 ticket price shocked me (probably because I didn't know anything about it and, well ...I'm just cheap) Please hear me when I tell you that it was WORTH EVERY PENNY. The actors, props, the buildings and details, the waiting area before you enter, literally every single part of the attraction is next level. Me and my sister took my two boys (ages 12&14). It's so hard to impress teenagers yet my boys said it was a 10/10 time. The actors/characters are SO good at their roles. Seriously, I'm pretty frugal and many times think these kinds things are overpriced. This is not the case. The experience is well worth way more than what they charged.

Detail is incredible.!! Love that you don't have to stand in a long line for hours waiting to get in.. you get to wander around.. do the different games that they have.. able to get something to eat.. they let you know by text when it's your turn to go.. they go above and beyond to make sure it's a fun scary experience.

Lake hickory haunts 👻 , it was really fun. There was some scary parts, narrow spaces, smoke, darkness, running, jumping, throwing my oartnery as side for me to get away because I was in the back and for some reason they loved to come up from beside and scream in your ear follow me etc, and every corner there was something new coming with different characters and rooms. The coffin ride was a little much for me, it’s hot, and small and dark. But we had soo much fun! 🤩

This place is AWESOME!!! I brought the family here last Halloween for the first time, and we were scared to death!! We had such a great time! It was a little pricy, but it was well worth it. I think it's the best haunted trail in the United States. They pay such close attention to detail that it really shows when you're going through it. When you go, it's going to be crowded so be ready to stand in line. You also have to pay for parking. If you get scared easily or don't liked to be frightened, this is NOT the place for you to go to. They will scare the socks off of your feet. If you're ever in the area around Halloween, please give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. It's family owned and operated. This place has been listed as one of the scariest haunted houses/trails in the nation and you can see why when you go here.

Was an awesome experience we loved the characters and all they had put into making it scary we absolutely had a blast we will be going back next year for sure
