The food is amazing and the price is not bad at all, the cheapest place around town. The staff is always so welcoming and works hard to make sure we are always taken care of.

Ate there a couple days ago and it was fantastic! The food was made to perfection. Everything looked appetizing. It wasn’t just thrown on the plate. You could really tell that the cook takes pride in the food he puts out. The wait staff was delightful and the place was clean as a whistle. Not to mention the prices! Very affordable. I have to say what I experienced the other day was a far cry from the last time I ate there a couple months ago. It’s like a totally different place. I work out of town a lot but when I’m home this will be my regular spot from now on. Good job Sawmills Cafe. You’ve earned a loyal customer.

It's a hole in the wall place with amazing staff, delicious food, good decent country folk, and a granddaughter who makes fabulous homemade cakes from her grandma's recipes! We shared a homemade strawberry cake-WOWZA! It tasted just like my Mama's! I wanted to cry just thinking about my Mom. It's not too far away. Just go the mountains for a day and visit this Cafe.

The food is mom and pop home cooking. We visit here about 1x a week sometimes more. The staff is very friendly. Their sandwiches and burgers are very good.
Highly recommended for small hometown cooking and atmosphere.

I went on a Wed at 6:30am. The place is small but there was no crowd. Grits could have been better but the rest was great. My friend got biscuits and gravy and said it better than the other breakfast place in town. Waitress was very nice. I'll be back.

I went back today with a group on Wed at 6am. The staff has changed since my last review. Still no crowd early mornings. The grits were fine today. We get different things to eat. Food is good and service is good.

We ordered an omelet and the veggie beef soup w/grilled cheese sandwich. The food was great ! The new GM, Richard, came to the table to check to make sure everything was good. Overall, we had a good experience and will definitely be back!

I would highly recommend this. Cafe Breakfast was great and I have never tasted Biscuits that were so good. I always heard the saying they melted in your mouth well that’s what I thought eating their Biscuits. .I accidentally turned on wrong road but stopping here made it , the right road. WoW.

Food came fast and was really good, the owner came too the table too make sure we all were enjoying our food and the establishment, 10/10 will be back again

We were delighted to find this cafe. The menu was extensive. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was very good.

Dont sleep on this place, especially if smoked meats are your thing. I had the smoked 'philly' it was awesome. Mgr came over and we talked , he is smoking everything out back. Glad we stopped in.

I've eaten here a couple of times. My personal favorite is the chilly cheese coney with onion rings. I'm really picky about onion rings,too, and these are the BOMB! Wonderfully friendly staff, and very affordable prices, and the food is great as well. Definitely will keep coming back.

I stopped here for breakfast on my way to Lenoir. The cafe is small but very clean and the staff is very very friendly. The food was fresh and so good. The biscuits were my favorite part. They reminded me of my grandmother's. I'll definitely be stopping here again when I'm in the area.

Cute lil restaurant with great food!! I got a bacon double cheese burger and my boyfriend got the livermush sandwich special and I so recommend eating here because the food is bomb!! They have milkshakes and deserts to that are oof the charts!!

Food was delicious and staff was super friendly. Classic Saturday morning cartoons were an added bonus. Can't wait to return.
